Can a document expiry date be set

Is it possible to set a valid from/to date for a document in KM so that user can not have access outside the valid period?
Thanks
Patrick

Hi Patrick,
You can do that, in order to use this funcionality you must add Time-Dependent Publishing Service  (tbp)
in your repository.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2004/helpdata/en/69/d96b86a84611d5993600508b6b8b11/frameset.htm
After that, in the directory where you want to use that,
you have to active it
Details|Setting|LifeTime
After loading your file you should setup for it its valid period:
Details\Settings\Properties\Lifetime
When ending this period, the only users with write permission can see this file.

  • Same Batch with different expiry dates

    Dear all,
My vendor produced the same batch Y28 at an interval of 3 days eg 10/10/2008 , 11/10/2008, 12/10/2008 with an expiry date of 1year.
He sent in the batch Y28 to me with the following expiry date 10/10/2009, 11/10/2009 and 12/10/2009.
During GR, I need to enter the expiry date. However, I realised that the Batch Master for the same batch can only have 1 expiry date. I end up with the latest expiry date of 12/10/2009.
Could anyone advise on how the above scenario sould be handled?
Can I maintain 3 different expiry date for the same batch?
Is it a norm that the same batch can have different expiry date?
    Thank you

You should create a separate batch per day, if you really think that the exact date of expiry matters for a material that has a shelf life of one year.

  • The stock consumption as per expiry date and not as per availability date

    Hi All,
We had a requirement like below for our client:
While creating batch in ECC we put the expiry date for the batch as per the business requirement.
    Suppose batch creation date: 01.01.2011
If in case the SKU shelf life is 1 year the logical expiry date should be 31.12.2011.
But here user can put any expiry date (there is genuine business reasons behind that), so for one SKU for one Availability date of the batch we can have 2 expiry date.
Please see below one example for the same:
EXPIRY DATE                 SHELF LIFE                    AVL DATE
    batch-1        08.10.2012                       720                              19.10.2010
    batch-2        06.06.2012                       365                              12.06.2011
    batch-3        01.08.2012                       360                              03.08.2011
In the above case the SKU which is available first is having a long expiry period and vice versa.
As per standard SAP the stock which is available first will be consumed first. So as per standard SAP batch1 will be consumed first than batch-2 and than batch-3.
But our requirement is to consume stock based on the expiry date of the stock. So the stock which is going to expire first will be consumed first. In the above scenario the consumption should happen like batch-2 first than batch-3 and than batch-1.
The client requirement is to consume the stock as per the expiry date and not as per the Availability date (this is what happens in the usual scenario).
Could you please suggest how to incorporate this?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Mukesh Pandey

    Hi Mani,
    Thanks for your prompt reply.
I tried using the characteristic for Expiry date as the sort criteria as per sap note 377186.
After doing the changes in the structure as suggested by SAP note i was able to see this characteristics as one of the sorting criteria. But when I am trying to create pegging relationship between demand and supply element he message i am gtting is "MAX_SL_DATE" can not be used as a sorting criteria in a fix pegging.
    System is just ignoring it.
We have batch managed stock here and stock availability date is batch creation date. But since we are manually creating batch in ECC and cifing it to APO we are getting scenarios where for the same creation date of batches we have different expiry dates.
I hope i am clear now.
Could you please suggest any other option as sorting is not working .
    Regards,
    Mukesh Pandey

  • Effective date and expiry date is data warehousing

I am new to OWB. I would like to know how we update expiry dates in slowly changing dimension tables by using OWB. Suppose if my source data is as follows:
    Emplid Job Action Eff. Date
    1000 "New Hire" 24-JUN-1999
    1000 "Promotion" 27-SEP-2000
    1000 "Merit" 01-JAN-2001
I would like to populate my target table like this.
Emplid Job Action Eff. Date Expiry Date
    1000 "New Hire" 24-JUN-1999 26-SEP-2000
    1000 "Promotion" 27-SEP-2000 31-DEC-2000
    1000 "Merit" 01-JAN-2001 31-DEC-9999
I tried to read the source system rows in the order of emplid and eff. date desc. I wanted to pass eff. date of current row to the next row in the source system. In this way, I can easily determine expiry date of current transaction. I have a hard time to do this in OWB. I would like to know
    1) Whether it is possible or not by simple mapping.
    OR
    2) Do I have to write any post mapping procedure?
    OR
    3) Is there any better way?
    Your input is greatly appreciated.

    Hi ,
    follow these steps.
    1) take the table, and again take same table, and join it on primary keys like say table a,table a1.
    a.id = a1.id(+)and
    a.start_date = a1.start_date(+).
    2) take outputs of join in sort operator and sort a.id asc and a.start_date asc.
    3) take o/p of sort operator in aggegrator.
    4) take in the input of agg , a.id,a.start_date , and b.start_date,and group by a.id and a.start_date.
    5) in output parameters add id and assigned id to it,start_date = a.start_date and create min_date = min(b.start_date)
    6) then drag o/p to exp ,and create o/p parameets like id ,start_date,and end dates.
assign id to id,start_date = a.start_date and end date = if min_date is not null then mindate else
    to_date('31-dec-4719')
and then get them in target table.
i have implemented this on my side, for any help pls feel free to get in touch.
    Sharad.

  • Changing credit card expiry date

For several years I have used a prepaid reloadable Visa debit/credit card to pay for my Skype subscriptions.  My current card expires at the end of November, so I have now been issued a new card and it is active. My new card has the exact same account number. Only the expiry date, and my private security code, have changed.
I am not able to just update the expiry date of my credit card in my Skype account settings as there is no option for that in those settings. In order to use my new credit card I have to delete my old credit card information. However, when I was about to do that I got a message that in order to delete my old credit card I must first cancel my Skype subscriptions.
This makes no sense to me. I do not want to cancel my Skype subscriptions because I do not own any other phone so it is essential to me.  Also, I have a Skype call-in number that I want to keep. If I am required to cancel my subscriptions in order to add my new credit card, I will lose that number, which will be a major pain in the ass for me.
All I need to do is provide Skype with my new expiry date of my new Visa card, but there is no easy way to do that. Why not?
And why is it so **bleep** hard for a long time paying customer to get any answers from actual Skype employees?

I have the exact same issue and have wasted the last half hour going in circles with the site.
Skype send you email to update the expiry, but gives absolutely no info on how to do it, or how to contact them. How can we update expiry date without cancelling our card?
Millions of people must have the same issue. Pretty shocking and stupid when they don't address the problem.
Skype, how do we do this????????

  • Change Material Document Header Date

    Hi SAP,
can we can material document header date ? is there any impact if we change it ?

    Hi,
In standard SAP, you can not change document header date in material document.
If you change "posting date" or "entry date" by your own coding, it will cause unexpected
result in MM-IM report. For example, if you change "posting date", it will affect MB5B.
But if you only change "document date", as far as I know, there will be no affect.
    Thanks and regards,

  • Adding an Expiry date to a document - Acrobat Pro

I want to add an expiry date to my document i.e 12 months from when it was created.  I recently got Acrobat Pro X on my computer, and the not sure how to do this now.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
In Adobe Acrobat 8, it was possible by adding JavaScript by clicking on the menu Advanced > Document Javascript > Edit CheckDoc
Then we could open the JavaScript and put the end date, as below
    Thanks!

Adobe LiveCycle can protect documents on an internal company network OR via the public Internet, it simply depends on how you set up access to the LC server (i.e. is the IP address of the server public and can it be connected to from outside the firewall).
"Expiring" documents with JavaScript is strongly discouraged if the document has value, as a user can trivially bypass the script (and as you have found out, it only ever runs under specific circumstances). If the PDF is opened in a non-Adobe application such as OS X Preview, scripting simply isn't available. Many users disable the scripting module by default, especially in enterprise settings. These are the situations for which digital rights management (DRM) was developed - if there was an easier (and cheaper) way to do it, Adobe wouldn't have bothered writing LiveCycle's DRM module as they'd never sell any licenses!
LiveCycle DRM restricts the PDF to opening only in Adobe applications (Reader and Acrobat), but the protection offered is totally reliable. Nobody has ever bypassed or cracked LCDRM hashes in the wild, and it's used to secure documents of the highest value (both commercial and proprietary). Yes, LCDRM is expensive and probably isn't viable for prosumer or short-run applications, but at an enterprise level the cost of a LiveCycle seat is often trivial compared to the losses they risk if a document falls into the wrong hands. It's a commercial decision, but anything less than DRM is merely an illusion of protection, and document authors must be aware of that.
I have exactly the same issue as you, except that the pdf documents are
distributed to customers - eg. quotations to expire after 30 days,
proposals, etc. In this case, Adobe Lifecycle doesn't work for me as it
only manages internal documents (as far as I know).

  • How to set expiry date for a mail account?

Hi there, i'm new in Messaging Server, need help here on how to set an expiry date to a specific mail user since the mail user will be just a temporary mail user. Instead of deleting manually, is there any smarter way of doing it?

Directory Server can be set to exipre a password, indeed. That will prevent the user from logging in, when it happens. There will be no warning, or anything like that.
The account will still be on the server, and the mailbox will still contain mail. It will still receive mail.
If you want to turn an account off, you will have to make some arrangement outside Messaging Server for automating it.
You can use any kind of program you like to set the ldap attribute "mailuserstatus" to "inactive", or even "deleted" as you wish.
You can use java, "c", or any other programming tools you like. Messaging Server and Directory Server aren't written in Java, anyway.

You'll need to connect it to the iTunes library you normally sync it with and restore it.  If iTunes asks you for this passcode before it will let you proceed, connect the iPod to iTunes in recovery mode instead using the instructions in this Apple support document.

  • Set Disable or Expiry Date for web app item via Edit form

I have a user that wants to delete a web app item from a secure zone edit form, but they are not the owner of that web app item.  All items in the web app were imported via a csv file and hence do not have a 'submitted by' user id assigned.
Is it possible to Disable a web app item using a web app Edit form?  or alternatively, is it possible to set the Expiry Date of a web app item using a web app Edit form?
    Thanks
    Dave

Sorry Brian, but I'm not sure that answers my question.
Sure, I can create a single web app item for every single client of my customer, manually.
Sure, I can create and 'allocate' that single web app item to each customer manually.
I pray the customer doesn't have hundreds of clients. And I would have to teach my customer how to do this convoluted process for every new client.
But the one thing this doesn't do is answer the question of updating the value of units held.
It seems the order module remains the closes to what I am looking for in that it allows an equation, and is automatically customer specific.
However, I am looking for a way to achieve a single daily update by the customer as to the value of the units held by each client. This can be done via the product module - update price. But this does not update existing orders. Exisitng orders are fixed at the price on the day. The customer wants to update the value once, in one place, and have that amend all existing 'orders' to reflect the new total value of units held by each individual client, and to have this show in each client's member area.
If you can think of a way of doing this in webapps or via the order module, this is what I am looking for. Anyone?

  • I turned off documents and data in my iCloud setting on my iPhone. How do I turn it back on?

I turned off "documents and data" from my iCloud settings on
my iPhone. How do I turn it back on?

If you're running iOS 8, it's on by default and you don't have the option to turn it off.  You can confirm that it's on by checking Settings>iCloud>Storage>Manage Storage and make sure you see your apps are listed under the Documents & Data setting.  (It will only list apps that sync documents & data with iCloud.)

  • Can anyone give me some documents for data cluster

    Hi,
can anyone give me some documents for data cluster?
    ths!
    regards!

    Hi ,
The following is a documentation on the <b>Data Cluster</b>:
<b>Data clusters</b> are specific to ABAP. Although it is possible to read a cluster database using SQL statements, only ABAP can interpret the structure of the data cluster.
You can store <b>data clusters</b> in special databases in the ABAP Dictionary. These are called ABAP cluster databases, and have a prescribed structure:
    <u><b>Cluster Databases</b></u> ( I have explained the cluster databse below )
This method allows you to store complex data objects with deep structures in a single step, without having to adjust them to conform to the flat structure of a relational database. Your data objects are then available systemwide to every user. To read these objects from the database successfully, you must know their data types.
You can use cluster databases to store the results of analyses of data from the relational database. For example, if you want to create a list of your customers with the highest revenue, or an address list from the personnel data of all of your branches, you can write ABAP programs to generate the list and store it as a data cluster. To update the <b>data cluster</b>, you can schedule the program to run periodically as a background job. You can then write other programs that read from the data cluster and work with the results. This method can considerable reduce the response time of your system, since it means that you do not have to access the distributed data in the relational database tables each time you want to look at your list.
    <b>Cluster Database :</b>
Cluster databases are special relational databases in the ABAP Dictionary that you can use to store data clusters. Their line structure is divided into a standard section, containing several fields, and one large field for the <b>data cluster.</b>
    <b>Creating a Directory of a Data Cluster</b>
To create a directory of a data cluster from an ABAP cluster database, use the following statement:
    Syntax
    <b>IMPORT DIRECTORY INTO <dirtab>
                     FROM DATABASE <dbtab>(<ar>)
                     [CLIENT <cli>] ID <key>.</b>
This creates a directory of the data objects belonging to a data cluster in the database <dbtab> in the internal table <dirtab>. You must declare <dbtab> using a TABLES statement.
    To save a <b>data cluster</b> in a database, use the <b>EXPORT TO DATABASE</b> statement .
For <ar>, enter the two-character area ID for the cluster in the database. The name <key> identifies the data in the database. Its maximum length depends on the length of the name field in <dbtab>. The CLIENT <cli> option allows you to disable the automatic client handling of a client-specific cluster database, and specify the client yourself. The addition must always come directly after the name of the database.
The IMPORT statement also reads the contents of the user fields from the database table.
If the system is able to create a directory, SY-SUBRC is set to 0, otherwise to 4.
The <b>internal table</b> <dirtab> must have the ABAP Dictionary structure CDIR.

  • Setting a secure zone expiry date beyond the invoice date.

Is it possible to set the secure zone expiry date later than the invoice date? We're just looking at a way to let our members continue to have access for say 1 week after an invoice has failed so that they can log in and update their credit card details, possibly without seeing the 'access expired' message.
I've seen this behaviour on a site before, but I think that may have had something to do with the fact that it was a weekly membership site and that the invoices were already generated.
    Cheers
    Pat

    Hey Gaurav,
This is for a monthly recurring subscription. What I was thinking was that if for example a user signed up on the 1st of the month that their SZ access expires on the 8th of the next month, but the invoice is still issued and paid on the 1st of the following month, and when the invoice is successfully paid the SZ access gets extended till the 8th of the next month - now that I've written it out like that I'm pretty sure this isn't possible, unless there is some setting that dev can see in the backend?

  • In iCloud preferences when I deselect an item, e.g. documents I get a message saying the info in documents will be taken off my mac and kept in iCloud. I would rather have in on my mac and not in iCloud. How can I keep my data?

    Macbook pro, os 9.4.1.
In iCloud preferences when I deselect an item, e.g. documents I get a message saying the info in documents will be taken off my mac and kept in iCloud. I would rather have the info on my mac and not in iCloud. How can I keep my data on my mac?

My mistake, my OS is 10.9.4.
    Thank you for your reply.
I guess, I really don't understand iCloud and how files are stored and where. I gather when I was asked to set it up I should have declined. Anyway, it looks like some of my files are stored in the cloud. If I shut off "documents" in the preferences it will remove those docs from my macbook, but they will remain in the cloud and I could get access to them for another computer if I set it up.
I also gather to avoid this, I have to, on a file by file basis, save them to my mac and then they will be on my mac. What I don't get, is that these files must exist on my mac because I can edit it without being connected to the internet. Maybe those files I see when disconnected from the internet are on my mac and I wouldn't be able to see cloud files unless I was connected to the internet.
My concern is that when I deselect "documents" in the iCloud preferences it warns me that those documents on my mac will be removed from my mac. I am afraid to deselect "documents' or "calendars" as a result.
If I seem confused, I am. Please don't feel obligated to reply if my message is too muddled.
