Can anybody turn off "F2" key bind in JTable

Hi all,
I have following problem,
I use global key action for key "F2", I also use as JTable cell editor my own editable combobox (extended from JComboBox). I have to turn off "F2" key action, which starts and stops editing cells in JTable, but I dont know how,
can anybody help me?

I've seen it mentioned on here that a PRAM reset may solve it:
Reset PRAM
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P and R.
You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

If you press the Home button and open Security, you can change "Auto Lock Device" to "Never". Does that do what you want?

How can I turn off the autocomplete (the one summoned by Esc key)?

Dear All, please help!
Somehow Escape button started bringing me an autocomplete list in Keynote which is monstrously inconvenient.
I am NOT using tables, I am working with a mere text box. Usually Escape would make me exit the text box, now it offers to insert all the words the Dictionary knows.
It doesn't work this way for Pages, but in the TextEdit it's all the same.

What you are describing is a feature called "word completion", provided by the Cocoa text engine, and hence used by apps which rely on it, including iWork, TextEdit, and others. When you are typing, or the insertion point is in a suitable position, pressing ⎋, or ⌥⎋, or F5 brings up the word completion list. Of course, it only works if there are suitable words in the list. Is there any chance you mis-remember? The Keynote shortcut for exiting text editing and selecting the text box is ⌘↩ (command-return).

Satellite A660 How can i turn off the lighting of the power button?

Hello, I recently bought a new Toshiba A660-1FL.
However bothers me is the lighting of the multimedia keys, if I work in the dark.
In Bios I could turn off the led illumination, but the power on/off button is still lighting,that distracts me when i am working.
This notebook has two power LED, so the power on lighting is in my opinion, unnecessary.
My question is: How can i turn off the lighting of the power button?

Yes in fact, the difference is color, design, but also location and brightness of the LED.

I was today at a local electronics store, and saw that Toshiba has the brightest Power LED on A660, but why it must be placed under the LCD and not in the front as in my old notebook Toshiba A210.
I also had the idea with a tape, but it would look ugly, and it must be removable without residue.
P.S. Also the fingerprints on the glossy keyboard do not look nice.

I can't turn off file vault

I was installing stuffit de luxe but i can't turn off file vault -- i receive en error
and computer restart without decripting my vault.
Does anybody knows how to fix this problem?

The only way I found to deal with that problem is to back up the disk drive to an external disk drive, them reformat the File Vaulted drive and copy the original data back to it.

How can I turn off the keyboard lock function? If I don't want it to auto lock after 5 mins but stay active, can I turn the auto lock off completely? I've checked Control Panel - Settings - General - Security - Phone and SIM Card and there appears to the the option, but when you try and select 'off' it doesn't allow you to turn it off.... Help?

I'm asking, in all seriousness, why do you think your mother needs an iPhone? Honestly, if your mother is, as you described her, a technophobe, I would recommend against getting an iPhone or any other smartphone. I've spent a fair bit of time teaching older folks to use smartphones. If they are interested in learning, it's fine. If they have the phone because their kids or grandkids thought it was a good idea but they are afraid of the phone or not interested in its features, it doesn't go well at all.
Many basic phones have voice dialing. Obviously, it doesn't do all the things Siri does but it may be much less intimidating for your mom. Also, basic phones have hardware keys. Even someone with limited vision can learn the keyboard on such a phone. From the sound of your first post, all she will be doing is making phone calls.

If you don't already have a current backup of all data, back up before proceeding. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select Disk Utility.
In the Disk Utility window, select the icon of the startup volume from the list on the left. It will be nested below another disk icon, usually with the same name. Click the Unlock button in the toolbar. When prompted, enter the login password of a user authorized to unlock the volume, or the alternate decryption key that was generated when you activated FileVault.
Then, from the menu bar, select
File ▹ Turn Off Encryption
Enter the password again.
You can then restart as usual, if the system is working. Decryption will be completed in the background. It may take several hours, and during that time performance will be reduced.
If you can't turn off encryption in Disk Utility because the menu item is grayed out, you'll have to erase the volume and then restore the data from a backup. Select the Erase tab, and then select
Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
from the Format menu.
You can then quit to be returned to the main Recovery screen. Follow these instructions if you back up with Time Machine. If you use other backup software, follow its developer's instructions.
Don't erase the volume unless you have at least two complete, independent backups. One is not enough to be safe.

sounds like it needs a full reset.
i've seen this where the nano hangs ok 'OK TO DISCONNECT' too.
toggle the LOCK key (on top) to ON and then back to OFF again.
then hold down the middle button (in the middle of the click wheel) whilst also pressing the top MENU button.
hold for approx 5-10 seconds and a small APPLE logo should appear, thus reseting the ipod.
NOTE: This will not cause loss to any music files.
