Can anyone explain these network log enteries to me.

Although my profile says leopard/macpro this relates to a g5 running 10.4.11. I just discovered the firewall has been off. The machine has been behaving very eratically recently in spite of a clean verify disk/permissions clean. We had aq kernal panic yesterday that appeared to be related to a external hardrive, but it still seems a bit eratic.

I assume this is users connecting on our local ethernet network (2 other macs) but why the variable at the end? If the machine had been hacked where would we be able to check if someone had accessed it? Many thanks.

Mostly there are only going to be logs if you set up some kind of logging for that and/or they had failures getting in, but once in, they can erase/doctor the logs & much else.
Some Routers have logs you can check.
You an do all that stuff that WaterRoof does on your own, mostly by learning how to edit the ipfw in Terminal.
WaterRoof is a free GUI into handling that!

    Introduction of D.O.T. in MSI
    Graphics Cards
    D.O.T.(Dynamic Overclocking Technology) is MSI's important
    and outstanding breakthrough in mainboard and add-on card technology. Briefly,
    D.O.T. is an auto-overclocking function, primarily focusing on detecting the
    load of the GPU, and on adjusting the frequency accordingly. When the GPU isn't
    running or when the load is low, the frequency remains on Default, which means
    D.O.T will onlye be activated when overclocking would benefit the user.
    D.O.T. will help the 3D Graphics cards in running games or programs
    smoother and faster. For example, when you are running the 3D games or some
    image processing programs, D.O.T will adjust the GPU and memory frequency to
    optimize performance. However, when you are only surfing on Internet, doing word
    processing, or defragmenting your hard drive, the GPU will remain on the default
    value.
    By using D.O.T., users save time and reduce the risks of trying
    overclocking by themselves. MSI spent a lot of time and effort on testing and
    experimenting the acceptable and safe overclocking range of GPU. That's why
    D.O.T. is far more stable than manually overclocking; the settings have already
    been tested. Besides, if the graphics card is overclocked all the time, it not
    only wastes electricity but also shortens its life.

    align=right>MSI has made a considerable overclocking
    achievement in PCX magic graphics cards. This not only improves 3D performance,
    but also meets the needs of most overclockers. Six levels of overclocking are
    available, adding up to 10% maximum overclocking performance: Commander,
    General, Colonel, Captain, Sergeant and Private.

    To show the effects of D.O.T. on 3D graphics card, we used
    FX5900U-VTD256 for testing 3DMark03 benchmark in three levels, including
    default, Captain and Commander. Let's look at the difference among these
    settings from the chart below.

          color=#ff0000>Caution:
          Although D.O.T. is more safe
          and stable than manually overclocking, risks are still involved. We
          suggest you that you first make sure your graphics card can handle
          overclocking. If you find some abnormal phenomenons while playing 3D games
          after enabling D.O.T., such as broken images, we recommend you to either
          stop D.O.T or to lower the level of D.O.T.
          If you prefer to overclock
          manually, you must disable D.O.T. first. We cannot gurantee that every
          graphics card can be overclocked to the Commander level.

  • Help! can anyone decipher these console logs? thx

    Hi all,
    I'm new to macs need some answers as i am getting nowhere fast waiting for support to look into it properly.
    Random freezing on a fully loaded haswell rMBP oct 13 version, becomes totally unresponsive requiring a forced reboot...poo
    I was listening to some music through my native instruments kontrol s4 soundcard and just ripping a cd with itunes, mail was open and safari.
    Sorry for the long data dump, but support are not interested in the data, why is this? it is the log file after all, right?
    The crash happened at 22:31 marked in bold.
    The crashes are quite frequent with or without external gear plugged in.

    Yeah, there are problems with your mail server database. Are you running email on that server? If so, there are configuration problems and possible mail database corruption, which you can fix by using the relevant troubleshooting techniques detailed in the manual:
    http://images.apple.com/server/pdfs/MailServicev10.4.pdf
    Of course, if you're not using the box as a mail server, then it would be easiest to stop it from Server Admin.

  • Can anyone explain what this log means? My accounts seem to repeatedly get accessed through software, it seems to be related to apps in some form-

    Questions that this raises for me are:
    why do i see entries for "LabVIEW Execution System 2" and then later in the file (not shown here), entries for "...System 22"? Why more than one execution system, and what do the numbers associated respresent?
    Why does it appear that these execution systems have a capacity of 48 threads (if I'm reading it right), but LV is only ever starting 32 threads?
    And then, of course, any additional information/insight into these files would be helpful. Wondering if someone might point me to some documentation, or provide any lessons learned.
    Thanks!

    Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, it looks a bit dated ("Primary Software Version: 7.1"). But I guess it's starting to make sense...
    "LabVIEW has five "execution systems", and each execution system allocates threads for four different normal priorities. This accounts for twenty threads"
    My debug file claims that there are 2x execution systems starting up ("2" and "22"), which I guess makes sense, since I believe my application has some VIs in the "Other 2" execution system.
    So I would expect one thread per priority per logical CPU core (my desktop has 32 logical cores)
    And I think I don't have any VIs configure with custom priories, so I guess seeing 32 makes sense
    ...not sure what the "capacity: 48" part means, though
    Am I interprething things correctly so far?

    Greetings,
    I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
    At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
    The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
    I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
    You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.
    Good Luck - Cheers,
    M.

  • Can anyone explain the difference between these 2 versions?

    I don't understand why Version 2 works and Version 1 does
    not. Both are on the main timeline, however Version 2 nests one
    clip inside the other. They both display correctly, however
    mouse-dragging only works on the Version 2. The events don't get
    fired for Version 1. Can anyone explain what's up?
    Version 1:
    this.createEmptyMovieClip("thisClip",getNextHighestDepth());
    thisClip.loadMovie("man.swf");
    thisClip.onPress = image_press;
    thisClip.onRelease = image_release;
    Version 2:
    this.createEmptyMovieClip("thisClip",getNextHighestDepth());
    thisClip.createEmptyMovieClip("man",
    thisClip.getNextHighestDepth());
    thisClip
    .man.loadMovie("man.swf");
    thisClip.onPress = image_press;
    thisClip.onRelease = image_release;
    The handlers are defined as simple calls to
    startDrag/stopDrag:
    function image_press() {
    this.startDrag(false);
    trace("man press");
    function image_release() {
    this.stopDrag();
    trace("man release");

    handlers applied to a movieclip (like your thisClip.onPress
    handler) is removed when that movieclip is the target of a
    loadMovie() statement. when loading is complete you can assign an
    onPress handler that functions as you expect. or you can use
    version 2 to target the child of a movieclip and assign handlers to
    the parent.

    Hi
    Business Add-Ins
    Business Add-Ins are a new SAP enhancement technique based on ABAP Objects. They can be inserted into the SAP System to accommodate user requirements too specific to be included in the standard delivery. Since specific industries often require special functions, SAP allows you to predefine these points in your software.
    As with customer exits (SMOD/CMOD [Page 40]), two different views are available:
    • In the definition view, an application programmer predefines exit points in a source that allow specific industry sectors, partners, and customers to attach additional software to standard SAP source code without having to modify the original object.
    • In the implementation view, the users of Business Add-Ins can customize the logic they need or use a standard logic if one is available.
    In contrast to customer exits, Business Add-Ins no longer assume a two-system infrastructure (SAP and customers), but instead allow for multiple levels of software development (by SAP, partners, and customers, and as country versions, industry solutions, and the like). Definitions and implementations of Business Add-Ins can be created at each level within such a system infrastructure.
    SAP guarantees the upward compatibility of all Business Add-In interfaces. Release upgrades do not affect enhancement calls from within the standard software nor do they affect the validity of call interfaces. You do not have to register Business Add-Ins in SSCR.
    The Business Add-In enhancement technique differentiates between enhancements that can only be implemented once and enhancements that can be used actively by any number of customers at the same time.
    In addition, Business Add-Ins can be defined according to filter values. This allows you to control add-in implementation and make it dependent on specific criteria (on a specific Country value, for example). All ABAP sources, screens, GUIs, and table interfaces created using this enhancement technique are defined in a manner that allows customers to include their own enhancements in the standard.
    A single Business Add-In contains all of the interfaces necessary to implement a specific task. In Release 4.6A, program and menu enhancements can be made with Business Add-Ins. The actual program code is enhanced using ABAP Objects. In order to better understand the programming techniques behind the Business Add-In enhancement concept, SAP recommends reading the section on ABAP Objects

    u can find BADI's in different ways...
    1>First go to any transaction->iN THE menu bar SYSTEM->STATUS->Get the program name ->double click->u will go to the program attached to the tcode.Now search term will be CALL CL_EXITHANDLER.Now u will get list of BADI'S available..
    2>Goto SE24->Give class name as CL_EXITHANDLER->Display->double click on get_instance mathod->Now u will go inside the method->Now put break point on the cl_exithandler.Now go to any transaction code and pass dat..U will see that it will be stopped on the break point which u set on the cl_exithandler...In the exit name u can find list of badi's attached to the tcode..
    There are multiple ways of searching for BADI.
    • Finding BADI Using CL_EXITHANDLER=>GET_INSTANCE
    • Finding BADI Using SQL Trace (TCODE-ST05).
    • Finding BADI Using Repository Information System (TCODE- SE84).
    1. Go to the Transaction, for which we want to find the BADI, take the example of Transaction VD02. Click on System->Status. Double click on the program name. Once inside the program search for ‘CL_EXITHANDLER=>GET_INSTANCE’.
    Make sure the radio button “In main program” is checked. A list of all the programs with call to the BADI’s will be listed.
    The export parameter ‘EXIT_NAME’ for the method GET_INSTANCE of class CL_EXITHANDLER will have the user exit assigned to it. The changing parameter ‘INSTANCE’ will have the interface assigned to it. Double click on the method to enter the source code.Definition of Instance would give you the Interface name.
    2. Start transaction ST05 (Performance Analysis).
    Set flag field "Buffer trace"
    Remark: We need to trace also the buffer calls, because BADI database tables are buffered. (Especially view V_EXT_IMP and V_EXT_ACT)
    Push the button "Activate Trace". Start transaction VA02 in a new GUI session. Go back to the Performance trace session.
    Push the button "Deactivate Trace".
    Push the button "Display Trace".
    The popup screen "Set Restrictions for Displaying Trace" appears.
    Now, filter the trace on Objects:
    • V_EXT_IMP
    • V_EXT_ACT
    Push button "Multiple selections" button behind field Objects
    Fill: V_EXT_IMP and V_EXT_ACT
    All the interface class names of view V_EXT_IMP start with IF_EX_. This is the standard SAP prefix for BADI class interfaces. The BADI name is after the IF_EX_.
    So the BADI name of IF_EX_CUSTOMER_ADD_DATA is CUSTOMER_ADD_DATA
    3. Go to “Maintain Transaction” (TCODE- SE93).
    Enter the Transaction VD02 for which you want to find BADI.
    Click on the Display push buttons.
    Get the Package Name. (Package VS in this case)
    Go to TCode: SE84->Enhancements->Business Add-inns->Definition
    Enter the Package Name and Execute.
    Here you get a list of all the Enhancement BADI’s for the given package MB.
    The simplese way for finding BADI is
    1. chooes Tcode Program & package for that Tcode.
    2. Go to Tcode se18
    3. Press F4
    4. search by package or by program.

  • Can anyone explain how the LO data source flows from ECC to BI up to cubes?

    Dear all,
    Can anyone explain step by step (HOW THE DATA FLOWS)....By taking 2LIS_11_VAHDR  from SD , starting from Activate Data source in ECC  to Info Cube in BI7.0. Please this will be helpful -
    Thanks for the advance answers...
    Edited by: harishk.225 on Dec 23, 2011 9:56 AM

    Hi Harish,
    First go to RSA5 in ECC  select your datasource 2LIS_11_VAHDR and activate it.
    After activatin check in RSA6 whether the datasoure activated properly or not.
    Then log on  to BI sytem Select datasource and click on replicate.
    Then Create Infocube infopackage ,Transformation, DTP ...entire flow. But dont schedule it because there is no data in SETUP Tables.For full load first we need to run statistical set up , so that data should come to SETUP Table.
    Now go to ECC  enter T.CODE OLI7BW to filled up the SETUP Table  for datasource 2LIS_11_VAHDR.
    It will ask  you for Run Name etc give the run name and time limit and execute it.
    If you get some error then first delete the SETUP Table by using Transaction Code LBWG.
    In LBWG it will ask you for applicatiion number , give 11 i.e for sales datasourc and execute it.
    Data will get deleted from SETUP Table. To check data is deleted or not  in SET UP Tabe go to database table MC11VA0HDRSETUP. Always remember the name of SETUP Table will be Extract Structure followed by SETUP.
    EX : If extract structure name is MC11VA0HDR then name of the SETUP Table will MC11VA0HDRSETUP.
    If data gets deleted then again go to 0LI7BW and run the Statistical Setup then agan check in MC1VAOHDRSETUP table contains data or not.
    Then trigger the Infopackage and DTP in BI.  Above steps was for full load.
    Now to Load deltas follow below steps.
    First Create INIT at BI side which enable delta at ECC Side.
    Then go to ECC and execute T.CODE LBWE.
    LBWE is LO Cockpit Work Bench. There we have folowng functions 1.Maintan Datasource. 2.Maintain Extract Structure. 3. Job  Control.  4.Delta Type 5.. Activate/deactivate.
    If you want to add any new field to your datasource then to to Maintain Extract Strucutere remeber before adding or modififying datasource first we should deactivate datasource by using 5th function  Activate/Deactivate.
    Then select DELTA TYPE in delta type we have four types of delta. 1. Delta Queue (RSA7) 2. Queued Delta (LBWQ)
    3. Unserialized (SM13) , 4. Seriaized (SM13)
    If you select Delta queue then deltas drectly come to RSAT.
    if you select Queued Delta  deltas goes to LBWQ then you have perform V3 job by using Job Control  function to move data from LBWQ to RSA7. Remeber to BI  data  always goes from RSA7 only.
    If you select Unserealized then delta goes to SM13 again you have to perorm V3 Job to move deltas in RSA7.
    Serialize update is not in used in Lo-cockpit.
    There is a differerence between  DELTA QUEUE , QUEUED DELTA, UNSERIALIZE UPDATE. Pls find the differences on net.
    Then select your delta type and create deltas dtp in BI and start loading .
    Hope this help you.
    In RSA7 we have two tables delta and repeat delta, to know the functionality of this please search for the documents on  net.

    Functionality
    You use this method to read detailed information about project definitions and the WBS elements of certain projects from the system.
    Notes
    Enter the project definitions and/or the WBS elements, which you want detailed information about, in the parameter PROJECT_DEFINITION or I_WBS_ELEMENT_TABLE respectively.
    If you only enter project definitions, the details of all the WBS that belong to the project definitions are read including the hierarchy. If you explicitly enter WBS elements, only these are read.
    Messages are returned in Return parameters. For information about the return values and their meaning, see the parameter documentation.

    You must distinguish between the parameter contents that are used in the selection process of the input help process and the parameter contents that are determined by the selection process and the user selection.
    Parameter contents that are used in the selection process are default values of search help parameters, values that are included in the input help process by attaching the search help to the screen from field contents of the screen or its module pool, and possibly complex restrictions made by the user in the dialog box for restricting value. Such parameter contents can also be included in the input help process by the search help exit itself.
    The contents of the specified parameter used in the selection process are stored as complex restrictions in SELOPT_TAB after the call. If exactly one value is defined by these complex restrictions (for example if the restrictions have exactly one row and if SIGN = 'I' and OPTION = 'EQ' for this row), this unique value can be found in VALUE.
    Parameter contents that are determined by selection process and user selection are the parameter contents that are shown in the dialog box for displaying the hit list or returned on the screen. They are managed by the F4 processor in RECORD_TAB.
    This module enables you to transfer the information about the specified parameters from RECORD_TAB to RESULTS_TAB in edited form.
    Pass the name of the field of RESULTS_TAB that should contain the contents of the parameter to the function module in parameter FIELDNAME. If the row type of RESULTS_TAB is elementary, pass the value '*' in FIELDNAME. The rest of RESULTS_TAB is not changed. The values are copied row by row. By removing rows at the end or by adding intiial rows you can make sure that RESULTS_TAB has exactly as many rows as RECOD_TAB.
    Example
    You can find an example of the second kind of use of the module in the search help exit SAPBC_GLOBAL_F4_SFLIGHT of search help SFLIGHT.
    Both types of use can be found in the search help exit SAPBC_GLOBAL_F4_SFLIGHT_MIN_FR of search help SFLIGHT_MIN_FREE .
    Notes
    1. Parameters OFF_RESULT and LEN_RESULT should not be used any more since there are basic problems when using UNICODE. The contents of these parameter are still analyzed when parameter FILEDNAME is initial for compatibility reasons.
    2. Only the dialog box for restricting values can normally produce complex restrictions for a parameter.
    3. If VALUE has the value SPACE, this means that either there are complex restrictions for the parameter or the unique contents are SPACE. SELOPT_TAB must be evaluated in order to determine which of these is the case.
    4. If the search help does not have any parameter with the given name, the exception PARAMETER_UNKNOWN is triggered.
    5. Only parameter contents for the search help displayed in the hit list or the EXPORT parameters of the search help are first managed in RECORD_TAB. If the specified parameter does not satisfy one of these conditions and if parameter RESULTS_TAB is specified in the call, the exception PARAMETER_UNKNOWN can also be triggered. This is not true, however, if results were already entered for the parameter with function module F4UT_PARAMETER_RESULTS_PUT or if space was reserved for the parameter in RECORD_TAB with function module F4UT_PARAMETER_ALLOCATE. The parameter therefore should only be defined if information about the parameter contents are really required.
    6. The header lines of the specified parameter are also transferred from RECORD_TAB to RESULTS_TAB.
    7. The other parameters of this module must be defined as the parameters of the search help exit having the same name, but they are not changed by this module.
    8. RESULTS_TAB should be a standard table.
    9. The contents of the specified parameter in RECORD_TAB are copied to the specified field of table RESULTS_TAB with a MOVE of the correct type. If this is not possible, the target field is assigned the initial value.
    10. If RESULTS_TAB has no field with the name specified by FIELDNAME, only the number of rows of RESULTS_TAB is adjusted to those of RECORD_TAB as described.

  • HDV & FCP - Can anyone explain this in layman's terms??

    Okay, I have a broad but limited understanding of all these technical terms for HDV and FCP and I am still banging my head against the wall in frustration!!
    I make videos underwater for divers and the company I work for. I have just moved into the world of HDV and am using the Sony FX1 and FCP Studio.
    I have many areas I am looking for help in:
    1. After I have captured my footage to FCP and I pull clips from logged footage, ever clip that goes into the timeline needs rendering - 8 sec of footage takes 5-10min to render, this is before any effects!!! Does anyone know what could be the cause of this? I have checked and re-checked all my A/V settings, capture settings, etc. but still cannot figure out why every clip I drag to the timeline requires rendering.
    2. Footage I capture looks great as it's capturing but when I play it back in the viewer or Canvas it looks as though I've shot it during a heatwave - it sort of goes fuzzy then clear, fuzzy then clear - not terribly so, but enough to make me scream with frustration at the "not-so-nice" video
    3. Can anyone explain in simple terms how I downconvert a sequence before exporting for use in DVDSP 4? I am a little unfamiliar with Compressor and besides Compressor takes 8 hours to compress a simple 6min video!!!
    Has anyone else encountered these problems? Does anyone have any answers before I end up a drivelling wreck??

    I am at my wit's end trying to work out where I am going wrong. I have set FCP (5.0.2) to "Easy Setup" for my Sony FX1. The camera is set up as follows:
    IN/OUT REC
    VCR HDV/DV - HDV
    COMPONENT - 1080i/480i
    i.LINK CONV - OFF
    TV TYPE - 16:9
    A/V-DV OUT - OFF
    I have tried to log and capture footage three times now and every time I have to render simple clips taken from the Viewer into the Timeline. I haven't done any special effects, they are just plain old clips. Rendering a 7 second clip takes approx. 8min!! I can't move forward with my editing having to render every single clip I drag to the timeline.
    I have searched high and low for an answer to this problem but no one else seems to have this problem or has yet to come up with a solution! Can anyone please help me? This is driving me crazy!?

  • In the iDVD window, there is a box in the lower left corner.  When I scroll over it, I get the message to hide or show the intro movie.  Checking or unchecking the box seems to do nothing.  Can anyone explain?

    Working with iDVD on a project, there is a box in the lower left corner and sometimes another in the lower right corner.  Scrolling over the one in the lower left corner, I get a message indicating that this box hides or shows the intro movie.  I have checked and unchecked the box, but see nothing different in the project.  Nor can I figure out what is meant by "intro movie."  Can anyone explain?

    Go to iDVD Help and type in Intro Movie, and you will get the full version of this:
    Many iDVD themes have “motion menus” that include animations or video that loop, or play repeatedly, until the viewer clicks a menu button. Themes with motion menus have a motion icon in the lower-right corner.
    In addition to background video, iDVD motion menus may also feature an intro, or short animation, that plays once before the part that loops. Other motion menus also include an “outro” that plays after the viewer clicks a button, serving as a transition between the menu and the selected content.
    An example of an iDVD 6.0 theme with an intro and an outro is Reflection White Main. In this theme, the first drop zones appear in the intro, and the buttons and title appear just before the looping part of the background video. In the outro, everything flies offscreen after the viewer clicks a button.
    iDVD provides tools for viewing these motion menus without going into preview mode, which is especially helpful when you are filling drop zones, and for turning the intro or outro off.
    Here are ways to view and edit the background movie:
    ◼
    Drag the diamond-shaped motion playhead along the scrubber bar (shown below), to view the background movie, stopping wherever you like.
    (If you don’t see the motion playhead in iDVD, choose View > Show Motion Playhead.)
    ◼
    Deselect the checkboxes at the left and right end of the scrubber bar if you don’t want to use the intro or outro, respectively, in your DVD menu.
    The scrubber bar shows the intro and outro as shaded areas at the beginning and end.
    You can also control the intro and outro from the Menu Info window. With your pointer over the menu (and with no buttons or text objects selected), press Command-I to open that window. Select or deselect the Intro and Outro checkboxes in the Background section of the window.
    NOTE: If you drag your own movie to a motion menu background, the outro is automatically removed. To customize the background and keep the outro, use a still image in the menu background instead of a movie.

  • Can ANYONE explain this IDIOCY?

    If I have an IFieldObject or ITextObject with the default height of 221 twips for an Arial 8.25pt or Tahoma Bold 8.25 font.
    Why is that a IBoxObject where I set the Top the same as my IField or ITextObject and set the bottom to the Top + 221 twips, the bottoms DON'T LINE UP. Aren't they all 221 twips in height, right?
    Same goes with the width...It befuddles me to work in this designer and not have things equal. Also, why in the world would they not give the IBoxObject a HEIGTH property?
    How wide is the crSingleLine? 20 twips? I understand that when you set the border the actual height/width grows but the values don't reflect it, is that true?
    Can anyone explain the idocy of the measurements and drawing elements in this, used to be good but now is a piece of crap, product? Is there any documentation on this "feature" anywhere? I can't find anything about this in the user guides or help. I'm using 10.2.3600 (sp1) in VS.Net2005 (w/VB.net)
