Can anyone recommend good html protection software

Hi all
Does anyone know of a good html protection program or
extension?
I need to stop text & images being copied off my web site
by disabling copy & save as from the right click menus, disable
screen grabs, disable selecting blocks of text etc.
I've seen a few bits of software online but don't recognise
any of the companies so am a bit unsure of handing over my credit
card details. Does anyone use one they can recommend?
Also, are there any implications to using the software in
terms of search engines reading the text, or anything else
negative?
Many thanks.
Dave

Thanks everyone who replied.
In general terms, my question was 'without detrimental effect
to a search engines ability to read my pages, and without
introducing any browser incompatibility/accessibility issues, can I
stop or make it harder for the text/content to be copied', and is
there a software program I can use to do this?
This is partly a coding question, but also a wider issue that
I'm sure will affect many online businesses and I've not seen much
useful coverage on the subject. I know this might not be the right
place to ask this question, but does anyone have any experience of
deterring copying through legal action or other non coding related
measures?
To answer the question about why people copy our content
We promote a certain product/service range (I don't really
want to say who exactly we are), most of which isn't unique, and
can be found on other competitors web sites. (A similar example
would be if you looked at the descriptions used of products on
musical equipment retail web sites. The descriptions all come from
the manufactures, so what ever web site you go on, the description
is the same.)
What we've done within our industry is to expand on &
improve the information we’re sent by our suppliers, to help
us sell the products better, and to help customers get to the
important information quicker.
We're leaders in what we do and I pay a team of copy writers
to ensure the content we are sent from our suppliers is re-written
to a high standard, focusing upon the needs of our customers. We
have spent considerable time and money researching how user
friendly the delivery of product details are on our web site, and
it's one of the things that sets us apart. The investment of time
and money into this obviously costs us money, but it also gives us
the competitive advantage.
Many aspects of our web site design, layout, content, even
keywords, are copied by our competitors. Usually the other web
sites look different enough to not be classed as ‘passing
off’ as us, but all the same, important layout features are
obvious copies. However, what I find most worrying is that some of
our competitors are now copying product/service reviews from our
web site which have been provided to us by our own clients. They
are posting the reviews with our company name removed and using
them on the same product pages on their own web sites.
Because the reviews relate 80% to the products, they
obviously feel they are doing nothing wrong, but often the reviews
also relate to the customer service we have offered, and this then
creates the impression that they offered the same level of service
as us, which we know not to be true. In turn, if our customers shop
around, the impact of our positive reviews are diluted by the fact
that the same reviews show up elsewhere, and the customer looses
faith that the review is genuine, or that it was us who provided
the excellent service.
I’m sure you’ve got the point now anyway!
Because the content is 'similar' to what the product
suppliers send out to everyone, it's difficult to take an action
over the copying as it’s not always 100% blatant.
Because the copying relates to over 1000 product/services, I
don’t think searching for unique text strings as Alan
suggests below would be viable.
It seems that the consensus is that it’s not really
possible to stop copying?
One of the websites I was unsure about paying money to was
www.antssoft.com/htmlprotector/index.htm
They claim that they can stop anyone from copying your web
site content to their PC clipboard, stop print screen, disable
right click copy menu option, and a lot more. They also claim to
NOT effect search engine intelligibility.
However, they are based in china, not affiliated with anyone
I’ve heard of, and I don’t want to risk getting ripped
off or compromising my web site.
If anyone else can contribute to this or who knows of an easy
way to code a page to make copying much harder (even if not 100%
effective) and without introducing any negatives, please add to
this discussion.
Many thanks.

  • CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND GOOD VIRUS PROTECTION?

    Dear All
I am now using my Macbook with high intensity and am worrying about virus infiltration. Twice in the past month my Mac has turned itself off and I have had problems with my internet connection. While these aren't definitely linked to viruses, I am keen to protect myself nonetheless. Can anyone recommend Mac specific, reliable protection?
    Thank you

As suggested the ClamXav is very good. For added peace of mind you might want to use Little Snitch. It alerts you if anything on your Mac tries to connect to the internet or phone home. Then you can decide to either let it or stop it. The beta version has some extra features that lets you monitor the local area for traffic. I have been using it for a couple of years and am surprised at some of the software that tries to phone out.

While not many systems come in wood grain, I'd go for a 2.1 system instead of 2.0 if your looking for better sound and bass.
I really like my 2.1 Systems | Creative Inspires, but also check out Logitech or perhap even Klipsch and Bose if your budget allows for those.

  • Can anyone recommend a HTML source for cookie compliance?

I need to add a cookie compliance message to a client site currently being developed in Muse. Can anyone here recommend an elegant solution?
    Thanks in advance.

I'm Planning to use this, seems like it will do the business,  but I can't quite figure out how to put it into my muse website! Other people say "paste it as html" , well I did that and nothing shows up. Any help with that welcome.

Hi, I'm looking for some design software to use with my MacBook Pro. Not an expensive full professional CAD program but something simple. I design lamps and it's time to put this Mac to work.

  • Can anyone recommend good clear skins for the iPod Nano 3G?

Anyone know of any good skins for the iPod Nano 3G?
    Preferably clear skins!
P.s. the skins that cover the wheel will that cause a problem with the response of the wheel? I have just adopted the Nano for the first time my previous ipod was the Shuffle!
    Thanks in advance!

I like hard cases for my iPods and so the one I have to recommend is a clear plastic hard case made by Agent 18. I had one for my previous iPod and I never got a scratch on the actual iPod. They make awesome cases for iPods and have fast shipping (the new 3rd gen isn't available in stores yet). Plus you don't have to put a film on your screen, the case covers the screen in hard plastic so you don't ever have to worry about screen scratches- I think the films can still get scratched if you bang it up enough because they are thin. Go for Agent 18!

  • Can anyone recommend good earphones?

Hi I am looking to replace my earphones and before I buy another set of apple ones I was wondering if there are any others on the market which are better. They would need to work with the voice activated dial thingy also.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
If you really like music and would like to appreciate it more then buying another set of Apple earphones as a replacement is probably the worse thing you can do
There's plenty of good ones out there but I personally, I'd recommend ones made by Senheiser or Sony. Careful when buying Senheisers though as there are a lot of fake ones out there, specially on ebay and Amazon market place.
Here's a link for the Sony earphones that are specifically for iPhones/iPods:

  • Can anyone recommend drawing & html applications?

I'm looking for a couple of applications - not sure if this the right category.
I'm after a drawing app, on my old pc I used to use Paint Shop Pro for editing photos, drawing & web graphics. Is there anything similar that doesn't cost too much? I'm not a professional designer or anything so I neither need nor can afford the top of the range software.
And I'm also looking for an html editor to work on web pages I've already created. On my pc I used Microsoft FrontPage. Again I'm not a professional, so don't need expensive software, I just maintain the website for my sports club.
I've browsed through the downloads pages & sites but I'm still not sure, I hope someone on here can help. Thanks.

If you have PC apps that do what you need, perhaps the best approach
would be to install Windoze as a VMware virtual machine, and use what
    you have.
You can grab a free evaluation copy of Fusion from vmware.com. If you
like it, you can buy it from amazon.com for $42. ...Oops, I just noticed
you're in The Land Of Oz. Don't know if Amazon works upside-down.
For evaluation purposes, you can run XP under Fusion with only 1GB of
RAM (suggest allocating 256 MB to XP, and keeping the rest for OS-X),
but for real work in Windoze-on-Fusion, you'd want to upgrade to 2GB.

  • Can anyone recommend  good Java 2D Book(s)

    Hi,
I am a newbie to Java and completed a module for my MSc in Java last semester.
One of our new modules is focusing on Java 2D so I was wondering what a good book(s) would be for a beginner in this area (I have not done graphics before!)?
Any recommendations would be most welcome!
    Thanks

Thanks guys, I think that the Knudsen's book sounds good although it looks like it could be difficult to get hold of as there is a wait - perhaps it really popular!

  • Can anyone recommend good monitors?

    Hi all,
I'm looking for monitors for my mini studio. I haven't got a very good room, soundwise, but compared to mixing through headphones, monitors are a lot better. I run my little studio on a Mac mini, using LE7, doing mostly remixes and some additional production, so my level isn't professional, rather 'advanced hobby'.
Also, I'm not TOO fuzzy with having the perfect pair, I just want to them to make more justice than the headphones.
The price range I had in mind is ±20 % of 3500 SEK, 250 GBP, 430 USD.
    Any suggestions?

My advice: save up until you can afford to get proper monitors. You do yourself no favours with low to mid-range monitors, which is what you'd be looking at in that price range.
I agree with the previous poster that for a small room, a 5" woofer is plenty sufficient.
I would suggest you save up for the current model KRK V4. They are not cheap (about $800/pair), but they are GREAT monitors, with plenty of bass, and a nice, even response.
Monitor quality does not increase linearly with price. At the low end, a little extra cash does not buy you much higher quality. But once you get above a certain threshold, then you're talking about a serious upgrade. For me, the KRK V4 is right at that threshold.

  • Can anyone recommend good quality speakers to compliment my iMac 27"?

    Hi there.
I want some speakers that will compliment my 27" imac I just bought. I want some that are mainly stylish and have good bass response. The thing is I really looked at getting the BassJump 2, however it looks like it is more something that compliments very small speakers like the ones found in the macbook air and macbook pro's rather than being something that is designed for the iMac. It uses USB to power a small subwofer while still using the exsisting imac speakers as the treble speakers. Its not made for the imac really as it already has speakers that far succeed the air and pro's. I want something is made of wood and look nice on my desk while not taking up to much room. Basically I want a good upgrade from the current set for around £50. I am looking on ebay which is where I buy most of my stuff from and I found these...

They look nice and they would be what I go for if no futher suggestions are appropriate.
    Thanks alot guys!

  • Can anyone recommend good speakers for Zen mic

    HI,
I have a zen micro and want to hook it up to good speakers to listen while in my bedroom. I know creative has a lot of speakers and I'm not sure what is good for the zen micro?
how many watts is considered good? I see that some of the creative speakers have bi-amplification and some don't...what is that and would it be good for my zen micro? I'm a newbie about speakers and don't know anything... pls help.......
    Thanks

In terms of portable speakers I use Creative's Playdock, albeit with my Nomad Jukebox 3. It will still work with the Micro, but it won't charge it and doesn't have a specific glove. The sound from the Playdock is great though. I also hear that Creative's Travelsounds are very good.
I also use my digital audio players with a standard Pioneer home cinema system, and a partially upgraded home cinema system with Sony amp and Mission speakers.
