Can apps override OS window-switching behavior?

Command-` (⌘`) switches between open documents.
In chrome, you switch between "history" of last "interacted" documents, making impossible to our brain to predict which one is coming. We can't quickly perform tasks with open documents because it's not like typing in a keyword (without watching the keys). Instead, it's attention-consuming like typing in an iPad (head-aches) because we have to "track-aim-correct" to hit keys. Not to mention that the behavior is different if you "didn't" interact with it (or an endless loop would make you switch between the 2 foremost docs over and over)
It should be like Time machine layers, even if the graphic motion is not cloned. Not needed. Just the calculation of which window will end-up in front. (please disconnect in your brain the idea of z-index from switching-order)
Scenario:
5 open docs, copy something from each. i.e. 1-copy, 2-copy, 3-copy, 4-copy, 5-copy
Ideal: ⌘`copy, ⌘`copy, ⌘`copy, ⌘`copy, ⌘`copy,
Needed to accomplish: ⌘`copy, ⌘`⌘`copy, ⌘`⌘`⌘`copy, ⌘`⌘`⌘`⌘`copy, ⌘`⌘`⌘`⌘`⌘`copy,
Scenario 2:
5 open docs, switch windows to get doc #5 (doc 1 in front, doc 5 possibly 3 layers behind, not even necessarily in the last )
Result: It DEPENDS how many times you cycled (and interacted) with others.
Since it's a "history", working with docs 1,2 and 3, could make your ⌘`ing NEVER reach #5.
You could get: 1,2,3,2,3,2,1,2,1,3,2,3,2,3,1,3,2,1,4,5.
20 key-strokes (⌘`) to get Doc #5.
Could it be Chrome's own behavior?
I'd like to make a Feature Request but I'd like to know for sure whether this is a OS or APP behavior, before to submit it.

Video achieved... I also figured out that - at least for iWork documents - the problem occurs when I click on the document title and then drag... like it can't tell if I want to move the window or activate the drop-down to duplicate/move/etc. I haven't figured out what triggers the behavior for Chrome windows, though.

Any computer is compatible as long as it can read and write Office files. But for perfect (or at least near perfect) compatibility, you would want to purchase Office 2011 for Mac.
How can I transport from Windows to Mac?
You can't directly transport any installation of Windows. All PC's come with a machine specific version of Windows intended for that PC. They don't have all of the hardware drivers the retail disks cover.
If you want Windows on your Mac, you would first purchase a full version copy (NOT an upgrade disk) of Windows 7 or 8. Those are the only supported versions on newer Macs. You install it through the supplied Boot Camp utility that comes with the Mac to create a new partition for Windows, and then install the retail copy of Windows you purchased.
The reason only these versions of Windows are supported is the same basic reason as a machine specific version of Windows for a PC. Apple only includes the necessary Mac hardware drivers for Win 7 or 8 on new Macs.
Once Windows is installed, you could then install the version of Office for Windows you already own. The nuisance of a Boot Camp partition is that you have to physically boot to either Windows or OS X, so you can only use the apps of the OS you're in at the time. To use both at once, you'd have to use virtual machine software (Parallels, VMware, VirtualBox) and then install Windows within that. Then you'd be able to run Windows inside of OS X and have access to both at the same time.

Besides saving the vi in a position, you also have a property node to determine window position at startup app.
Values can be fix, calculated from monitor specs, etc.

Terminal.app, Window-switching, and International Keyboard

Hi. I have a MBP running Mountain Lion (10.8.3), and I frequently work with Terminal.app. The following minor issue has been irritating me more and more recently: I can't use <Cmd>+<`> to switch Terminal windows using the "U.S. + International" keyboard.
The shortcut works for other applications I use, like Firefox (and other browsers), Outlook and other MS Office components, MacVim, etc. But Terminal.app ignores it. It appears under Terminal's own Windows menu, as "Cycle Through Windows" .
Thinking there might be some connection with my decision a few months ago to switch to the "U. S. International - PC" keyboard (for easier insertion of accents etc.), I went and switched that off ... Voila! Window-switching works again. But why is this necessary? Why can other applications deal with <Cmd>+<`> in U.S. International - PC mode, but Terminal.app can't?
I'd like both options to be available at the same time, so suggestions welcome.

Hey there, littleshoulders, I owe ya a couple of beers! After reading the article that you referred me to, I checked my Font Book and sure enough, the Monaco font was missing, so I extracted the font from my installation disk using Pacifist once again, and installed it in HD/Library/Fonts. It then appeared in Font Book, so I launched Terminal and presto!, the full Terminal window appeared in all its glory. A big hug from me to you!
By the way, Pacifist has saved my sanity at least a half dozen times....it's one app that I can truly say is worth its weight in gold. As far as I'm concerned, it's a must have.

How can I override pop-up windows for a specific site?

In Firefox for Mac and Internet Explorer on a PC, you can turn off pop windows, but authorize specific sites to open a pop-up window. Is there a work around in Safari? The simple on/off switch (command-shift-k) is not adequate. I'd like to use just one browser, instead of using one for general surfing, and another for sites I log into that open various pop ups as I navigate.
Safari is fast, but at a functional cost.

Adblock keeps popping up as a suspect in Safari crash logs, so I'm a little nervous about it. Glims seems to have a better rep for Safari-friendliness and I believe it offers selective ad blocking:

You can also try the Camino. browser, From the Mozilla crew, it is Mac-only and much leaner and faster than FireFox. The interface is very close to Safari, unlike FireFox's rather Windows-centric approach. You can selectively block or allow both cookies and pop-ups. It's my backup browser and my wife's primary browser.

You do a restore as new to wipe the iPhone then at the end of restore you will be asked to restore from backup. Choose your iPhone backup.
Note you cannot restore an IOS newer than the IOS on iPhone, you need to update iPhone first.

you can submit , I have submitted a new windows phone 8 app recently which will support on windows 8.1 phone also. In case of 8 the build will be .xap and in case of 8.1 it will app.package . when you run your windows 8 app in 8.1 phone it will
internally convert xap to package and it runs as usually. I would suggest you to start developing in 8.1 apps which has lot more flavors added(ex: Geo fencing etc).

You might just have to contact Apple and ask them to remove it (losing it). Usually people clear a balance by buying one song and having the exact remainder charged to their credit card, but if you don't have a US credit card you cannot do that.

Office for Mac, http://www.microsoft.com/mac/products, can open/edit/create Office documents.If your external drive is formatted NTFS then you can copy the Office documents to your computer and work on them. You won't be able to save the files back to your NTFS formatted drive. But you will be able to save the documents to your internal drive. You can move all the external files to your internal drive then format the external drive for Apple. Then you can copy the files back to your external drive for ongoing use.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing the key combination command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear below what you entered. You can then quit Terminal. Test.

Are you having the same problem where either Email app won't open up or the PC Settings keeps blinking but refusing to stay up?
I've tried a restart but nothing changed. So, I'll guess we'll have to wait patiently until they find a solution for the next big patch/Windows update.
I get the feeling that recent update may have done a little harm than progress but guess that's why it's still in the Beta stages before release.

Gordon, it looks like its been a while since you made this post. Not sure how valid it is now...   I am particularly interested in the LigatureLevel.NONE value. It seems that it is no longer supported.
How do I turn of ligatures in the font rendering?
My flex project involves trying to match the font rendering of Apache's Batik rendering of SVG and ligatures have been turned off in that codebase. Is there any way (even roundabout) to turn ligatures off in flash?
