I have a 99 client Pro subscription. One particular computer will let me login and do everything but Remote Control. I can use the File Manger, Chat, etc. Remote Control client shows an error after it tries to authenticate. Other clients work just fine.

I am a newer about LabVIEW.How can I realize a remote control in a Web brower.

Required Software
To operate a LabVIEW program using remote panels, it is necessary to have the free LabVIEW run-time engine installed on the client computer. When a remote viewer logs onto the lab with the appropriate URL address, the LabVIEW front panel will appear in the browser, or reroute the user to install the run-time engine from the National Instruments Web site.
Application Control
Once connected to the remote laboratory, the client connection will automatically be in a monitor state. If another client is controlling the remote laboratory, the user will be able to monitor the actions of the controlling client. To request control of the program, right click on the front panel and select Request Control. Once selected, one of two possible messages will appear. Either the user will be granted control (Control Granted), or the user will see a message indicating that control is currently granted to another user (Waiting for control: Either the server is locked or another client has control). If another client has control, the controlling client will be notified that control time has now become limited. Once the timeout occurs or the controlling client has released control, application control is automatically switched to the requesting client (Control Granted). Once the user has been granted control, all icons and controls will become active and running the LabVIEW application is exactly like running the application from the local environment.
Releasing Control
When the remote viewer either moves on to a different URL address or relinquishes control by right clicking and selecting (Release Control), or when the remote laboratory times out, the remote laboratory is available to the next visitor."

I don't see which LV version you are using. It's important to know, that you need the FDS or PDS package of LV 6.1 to work with remote control. This feature is not supported in the LV base package of LV 6.1.
If you have LV 6.1 FDS or PDS, which of the described steps are not working?

How can I fix the remote control order of the chapters?

I am using the new 6.0 theme of Reflection Black--submenu Chapters. THis gives you two rows of chapters (which shows the looping movies and title of the chapter). I am importing the .mov slideshows in the order I want them accessed with the remote control of the TV (or DVD Player remote), but this is not the case. Instead, when clicking the right arrow on the remote control, the next chapter is not the one laid down in order, but another chapter. (From the first chapter, it skips to the second row, then back to first row, then back to second row.) Basically, the remote does not forward to the next chapter in the order they were imported.
Can anyone help? I have been told by Applecare that the map icons cannot be reordered. But starting a new iDVD project and importing in order does not work. I tried other themes and the ones with lists work and can even reorganize the order for you if you drag and change the position of the chapter!

There seems to be some order in some themes, but this particular one has no order. Hoping also to hear of a solution. Applecare said to reinstall iDVD if I can't fix the problem with creating a new project, but I don't think this is the issue, since other themes work.

Can MSI VOX be remotely controlled?

I belive I read in the skimpy manual that the USB VOX TV-tuner could be remotely controlled via the Internet. I've managed to set up streaming, but can't figure out how I can change channels remotely. Is this possible at all or just a glitch in the "manual" ?

I can do everything but send texts

I only got it yesterday and until about 3 hours ago, all was fine. Now I can't send texts. I can do everything else; use the internet, email, receive texts. But I can't send them.

I suggest the following steps:
1) Register HRT
Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now
2) Resend Service Books

3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your carrier for formal assistance.

How can I get the remote control button to appear in itunes?

I cant seem to locate the remote control button that is supposed to appear in iTunes. I do not have any remote controls associated with my iTunes yet the button is not appearing. Help.

So here's the deal. My company bought a 2010 Mac Mini Server with Snow Leopard at my request. It hosts VMs which employees use for lab purposes; nothing heavy. I installed it in our server room and it was working fine.
At first I had a Dell laptop and tried to set up VNC access; it would not connect. I brought my personal 2011 MacBook Pro in to work and connected it, still couldn't connect using VNC. Using Remote Desktop, I was able to add the computer and set my Pro as the administrator. I could see it fine, but could not connect. But I noticed that if it asked me for username and password, I could get it to work. If it just asked for a password, I could never connect. No matter what password I entered it would not function. "Authentication failed".
Rebooted the server, all of a sudden I could connect...for a while. After a while though, I would connect and be unable to do anything. I can see the menu change as I click between windows and the desktop so I know I'm connected. But none of the buttons or anything respond. I close the console window, and then attempt to reconnect, and get "Authentication failed".
So...fast forward. Company buys me a MacBook Pro at my request. I load up Apple Remote Desktop and set the work Pro as administrator for the Mac Mini Server, and redeploy the package. Can't connect. So I physically move the Mac Mini Server out to my desk and connect it to my secondary network drop; Apple Remote Desktop connects perfectly every time. We put it back in the server room and change the switch port so that while in the server room it's connected to the same port that it would be if it were at my desk. Connects fine...but then again, eventually it just drops and I get Authentication failed.
Now here's the thing:
I can ping it. Which means it's not a connectivity issue.
I can see it says "Online" in ARD, which means Apple Remote Desktop is functional on both the client and the server.
I can issue commands to it. I can tell it to launch an app, restart, etc. which means ARD is functioning and authentication is actually successful.
Now, based on what I know of computers, it almost seems like the VNC sessions are getting "locked" somehow. As if it can't create a new session because there's already one there. Problem is I don't know if that's what is happening, or why, or what to do about it. I need to be able to view/control this server readily, which is part of why I bought Apple Remote Desktop in the first place. I don't have this issue on any of my home machines, which seems to tell me that the server OS might be the cause.
Long winded, yes. But does anyone have any suggestions?

My issue turned out possibly being a larger problem.
All of a sudden the server is in a bad, bad way. 30 minutes to get booted to the login screen. If I try to login I get beachballs for half a second at a time. I type login/password, the screen refreshes and I'm back to the login screen. I can't connect a keyboard/mouse directly to it, because it wants to do the keyboard recognition (I'm not using an Apple keyboard because they're all Bluetooth and I can't get in to do the Bluetooth sync). I can't do Disk Utility, because I can't connect a keyboard to do the key shortcut. I can't do Hardware Test, because I can't connect a keyboard to do the key shortcut. Can't reinstall Snow Leopard Server, because in their infinite wisdom Apple has removed the optical drive, and even if I had the optical, it wouldn't do any good because I can't connect a keyboard to do the key shortcut that would allow me to boot from the DVD.
I tried to do target disk override from Remote Desktop but it won't let me choose my other Mac's Remote Disc as a boot option. It also continues to show the Server as "Offline" even though power is on and it's on the network.
I would do my 2010 Air's USB drive - just to do a Disk Utility and see if it's a drive problem - but I can't tell the Server to boot from the USB stick.
Tried using my iMac as a monitor, that worked for a while, now it just flashes and then goes back to the iMac.
I'm thinking the logic board on this thing is about to die. Which is unfortunate, since my company opted out of AppleCare for this piece of equipment, and the 1 year expired last month. So...if the repair is going to end up being $800, they're going to have to pony up for a new server.

Can my Windows MCE Remote control iTunes?

I have an iPhone so I want to use iTunes as much as possible to make myself as familar witht he program that I can.
I would really love if my Windows MCE Remote can control it.
I used the up and down arrows and it seemed to scroll through the song list, but I couldnt pause the song from the remote.
So can I get it to fully work with iTunes?
Can I even use the MCE on the desktop like a mouse?

HT4759 I can see everything but my calendar in icloud also on my phone. How do I get my calendar to sync?

I recently got an ipad and am having great success with that. It shows and syncs everything it's supposed to, but my calendar is not syncing with my iphone and also doesn't show up in icloud. Just a side note.....my reminders sync on icloud, iphone and ipad just great. I am only having problems with the calendar. Please advise if anyone has any ideas. Thanks.

If new calendar events added to your iPad do not appear on icloud.com, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar and make sure this is set to iCloud. If it isn't, make this change, then add a new event and see if it appears on your calendar on icloud.com now.
If your settings are correct but new events still won't sync, you'll have to add any missing events from your iPad calendar to your calendar on icloud.com. When the calendar on icloud.com is up to date, go to Settings>iCloud on your iPad, turn Calendars to Off, choose Delete from My iPad when prompted, then after a minute or so turn Calendars back to On again. Then add a new event on your iPad and confirm that it syncs to icloud.com now.

Can do everything but rent HD movies...

I have wasted $$ testing the purchase of a song, a tv show but when I try to rent an HD movie, I'm told the ATV is unable to connect to the itunes store, try again later. this has been the case for a couple days now since I bought the unit. any ideas on what I can try? I have done the unplug ATV / de-authorize / re-authorize iMac itunes computer with no luck.

Did both from the AppleTV... the HD movie I tried to rent was "Over Her Dead Body" and another thread refers to others having trouble with this one. I'm hoping it's a one-off...

Can restore everything but ratings - please help

My iTunes crapped out on me for one reason or another - but this time I had backed it up to an external hard drive. I've managed to restore the music files and the playlists, but I can't restore the ratings. I've read enough on here to know they are in the iTunes library .itl file. I tried to import that the same way I imported the .xml file (file - library - import playlist), but it didn't work. Neither did the "Add file to library" option. My only other idea is to plug in my iPod and hope it transfers the ratings back to iTunes, but if that dsoesn't work, I've lost them forever (about 5000). Please help!

Don't restore anything. Just copy the entire \iTunes\ folder from the backup to \Music\.

Can keep everything but podcasts in proper order

I've reviewed recent postings, but they don't seem to resolve my problem unless I'm missing something.
I have podcasts and then audiobooks at the top of my Shuffle, then the music. All options to shuffle tracks are turned off. I drag the podcasts onto the shuffle in content setting, with the left hand column clicked always. I then make sure the podcasts are in the right order by dragging them. I resync before I disconnect. While (using 7.3) the books stay in proper order when I listen on Shuffle, the podcasts always seem to go in reverse order (I order them 1,2,3, they play 3,2,1). When I reconnect Shuffle they show in reverse (3,2,1). I have turned Shuffle on and off, restored to original settings, updated to latest iTunes; nothing seems to help with this. I am using podcasts to try to learn a language, so it would really help to have them in order. Please, if anyone can help with this I will be really grateful!

Same problem here...
I'm using iTunes version 7.3.1 with 2nd Gen Shuffle.
iTunes is showing correct desired sort order (with some work), but Shuffle refused to play back podcasts in anything but release date order (apparently), even after being properly syncing. Music albums seem to be unaffected.
I think I've stumbled onto a fix (for a Win XP machine anyway) while playing around with something else. Now my Shuffle is playing both songs and podcasts in the proper sort order. In a nutshell, I stopped then restarted the iPod "service" in the Windows operating system.
Follow these steps exactly:
1. Quit iTunes.
2. Right click on "My Computer" (or "Computer") found on the Windows desktop or under the Windows Start menu in the lower left corner of the screen.
3. Click on "Manage"
4. If Windows requires your permission to continue, click Continue.
5. Click the plus symbol to the left of Services and Applications.
6. Click on "Services" listed under Services and Applications.
7. Double click "iPod Service" in the right hand panel.
8. Click the "Stop" button under the General tab and leave the iPod Service Properties window open.
9. Connect your iPod and wait until it is visible in "My Computer" (or "Computer"). Note: On my XP machine, I had a new file explorer window pop up showing the iPod assigned to a folder, which later closed on it's own).
10. Click the "Start" button in the iPod Service Properties window.
11. Open (start) iTunes.
12. Once iTunes is done reading the Shuffle, sort the Shuffle's playlist in the order you desire.
13. Right click on the Shuffle's name which is on the left side of the iTunes screen.
14. Click "sync"
That's it!

I can access the Music store, no problem. I can navigate, listen to music samples, download podcasts, etc., but when I hit the Buy button for any music album, or track off an album, I get this message:
Could not purchase "Unknown". An unknown error occurred (400). There was an error in the Music Store. Please try again later.
I emailed Apple about this and was surprised to received a reply in less than 24 hours. They said they were sorry, and that the easiest way to resolve error 400 is to upgrade to iTunes 6.0 or later. That's no help.
It was apparent that the "iTunes Music Store team" person had not read my message carefully because in it I had said all my software was up-to-date, including iTunes 6.01.
I deleted iTunes and downloaded it again. No luck. I finally went elsewhere to buy the album I wanted. Is Apple losing sales from you too?

I found the solution. It is posted in plain sight on the iTunes for Mac OS X support page (http://www.apple.com/ca/support/itunes/) under Troubleshooting information: "What to do if you see error 400 connecting to the iTunes Music Store".
I followed the instructions and then downloaded a song, no error message.
I was guilty of what I accused Apple tech support of - not reading carefully enough. I had been looking only in the Discussions section. Thanks, Apple.

ColdFusion 9 Server Manager can read everything but Datasources

I am attempting to use the new Server Manager feature in CF9. I can connect to my webservers with Server Manager and I receive the following error:
"Failed to read the data sources from SERVERNAME. Continue to read mappings from SERVERNAME" YES/NO
If I click Yes then I can view all properties of the server, except the data sources. The strange thing is that if I create a new data source, it is successful. I can even apply the new datasource to other CF9 servers! If I log out of Server Manager and re-launch, I can no longer view the previous data source that I created.
Anyone have any ideas why I can't view my CF9 data sources from Server Manager?

The good news is once you add them by hand you can back them up using a CAR and have them be portable to any other instance.
I haven't tried going from CF8 to CF9, we have a limited footprint of CF8 servers.
