Can H323 gatekeeper in the same box as Gateway?

The customer is goint to setup Polycom between 2 offices. With the limited budget, can I setup one 2610 working as both Gatekeeper and Gateway for each site?
If yes, which IOS is recommended? Please provide a link for sample configuration.
If no, which IOS is recommended for GK and GW? Please also provide a link for sample configurations.
Thanks,

As the example at this link: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/tech/tk652/tk701/technologies_configuration_example09186a00800a9a56.shtml
Both GW and GK are on a 2600 router. What I would like to know is can I have only one 2600 acting as both GW and GK? What IOS I need to use?
Or, this example is only for VoIP not really applicable for Polycom VC?
Thanks,

  • Can E-RECRUITING share the same box of ECC?

I always install E-RECRUITING on a dedicated server as an ABAP application. Then connect to its backend ECC.
Just curious, can I  install  E-RECRUITING on the same box where its backend ECC system is installed? ECC and E-RECRUITING will have
different SIDs but co-exist in one Oracle MCOD DB.
Further more,  can E-RECRUITING and its backend ECC belong to the same SID but on different clients?
    Thanks for help.

Yes and yes. The first scenario is comparable to I2-A and the second one to I2-B. See the application help for details.

  • OiD, DB and iAS on the same box

    Hello world!
Did anybody installed OiD DB and iAS on the same box and if yes
    does it working & ? :-)

    Hello Dmirty:
Yes, you can install them on the same box. Here is how I do it:
    1. Install OID with its database.
    2. Resize the OID database user and system tablespaces according
to the installation instructions in the 9iAS Portal install
    guide.
    3. Install Portal in a seperate Oracle Home on the same box.
When you install 9iAS version 1.0.2.2, Portal needs a database
but the database it will use cannot reside in the same Home.
Since you are installing OID, and OID installs a database it is
more space efficient to use the same Oracle Home you use for OID
as you use for Portal. Again, install Portal in a seperate Home
from OID but point Portal to the database in the OID instance
    durring installation.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can SS9 coexist with SS8 on the same box?

    Hello,
First off, congratulations on the SS9 release!
I'm about to try it out, but I can't make sense of some what's said in the release notes.
"If you have Forte Developer 6 software, Sun ONE Studio 7 software, Sun ONE Studio 8 software, or Sun Studio 8 software installed, be sure to follow the installation instructions and install the Sun Studio 9 software in a different directory."
    The next paragraph says:
"If you have Sun ONE Studio 8, Compiler Collection software or the Sun Studio 8 software installed, be sure to follow the installation instructions and install the Sun Studio 9 software on a different system."
    The install guide says:
"If you installed an Early Access version of the Studio 9 software or any other version of the Sun Studio software on your system, then install the current version of the Sun Studio 9 software in a different directory."
So can SS9 coexist with SS8 on the same box, albeit in a different directory, or not? I have an S8 box with SS8 on it.
    Regards,
    Sergey

I don't have the installation guide handy, but the Release Notes say something different. The Install Guide is wrong about the EA and CA versions. The wording about installing on a different "system" is also wrong. I'll forward this information and see what can be done about correcting it. (No matter how many times a doc is reviewed, it's still wrong ... )
The rules for Sun Studio 9 installation are actually simple, and are the same as for all previous releases:
    1. You can install any number of different releases on one system, but each must be installed in a different base directory.
    2. You can install only copy of a given release on one system.
The default base directory is /opt, and if any release is installed there, additional releases must be installed somewhere else. For example, you could install Sun Studio 9 in /SS9 or /export/SS9 or any place other than /opt.
Because of #2, you must uninstall an EA or CA version of a release before installing another version of that release. For example, if you install the first EA version, you must uninstall it before installing the second EA version, or CA version or final release version. If you installed the CA version, you must uninstall it before installing the final release version.
Patches to an existing installation don't count as a new version. A patch by definition is installed on top of the release that it patches.

  • Can two users access the same bootcamp (win os) instance?

We are two users who are using our imac and we both have own user names in mac os. I created a bootcamp partition with windows xp on it. Can both users access the same partition and create their own user spaces within xp?
Will that work also if we use Parallel or virtual box? (access the same user data as in boot camp?)
I would like to have the option for each user to access their windows data either through bootcamp or through the virtual tool.

Running on its own partition means that the installed OS has its own formatted portion (partition) of the hard drive. A virtual machine does not have its own partition. It creates a virtual partition (a file on the computer) that simulates a file system (partition). So Virtual Box, or any other virtualization software, does not run Windows, or any other OS in its own partition.

    HI Neel Kamal,
I think its a better option to distinguish OLTP like R/3 or ECC and OLAP like BW rather on a single instance

Let us know if this holds good

  • ABAP and JAVA Stack in the same box

    Hi all,
I have installed Java Sneak preview first and after I installed ABAP Sneak in the same box.
Everything is working fine but I noticed a little detail.
My jcontrol.exe service disapeared from SAP Management Console.
I mean before installed ABAP Stack my MMC had 2 divisions in my J2E instance:
    server 1 with 2 Process msg_server.exe and enserver.exe
    server 0 with 2 Process jcontrol.exe and igswd.exe
After installed ABAP Stack, my server 0 became part of NSP Instance and jcontrol process is not displayed anymore anywhere.
Instead I see now msg_server.exe and disp+work.exe and igswd.exe that of course are Process of the ABAP system.
Does anyone have a nice explanation for this?
    Regards,
    Mauricio

    Hi mauricio,
I was installing Netweaver sp15 both Java and ABAP version on one PC. But it seems they are working.
Can you please tell the procedures to follow, to have good installation?
If I load java version first and then ABAP i get error at step 11.
Did you parttition the drive in to 2 or you installed on the same partition?
Your help will be greatly apprecieated.
    Thanks

  • Picture and text in the same box for the calender?

Is it possible to put a small picture in the box (for say May 4) and also get a short text line in the same box?
When I'm doing it now, the picture takes up the whole box and the text goes underneath.
    Thanks

Unfortunately that's how it works. If you have a 3rd party editor you could add the text to the picture before adding it to the calendar. Put in a feature request at http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Standby Database Creation in the same Box Oracle 9.2.0.1

Box - Sun Solaris 64 bit
    Oracle Version - 9.2.0.1
I have a database called 'sales' in the above box. I want to create a standby database in the same box (in different mount point). This is what I did:
    1. took cold backup of all datafiles
    2. created standby controlfile
    3. updated init file.
-when I tried to start the stabdby db, it is throwing error because the controlfile is confusing with the same db name as the primary ('sales').
My question is: Can I create a standby db in the same box?

    Hello,
For keeping the standby database on same HOST....it does seems to be great...i must be on separate box....may be on different network...i believe you would be using it for some failiover purpose...Isn't it.
For Unix it is quite easy..you may implement like this...The Issue which you are referring may be because of wrong Oracle Home or SID....(i'm not very much sure..) You may try following steps:
    1. Create a separate Unix A/c and set ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID relevant to your StandBy Database. I believe the Home would be same whereas SID would be your standby databse.
    2. Take a Cold Backup of All your database files from Production.
    3. Copy these files on separate mount points for standby Db. Put them all to relevant directory and be sure to set the Group of all these files as "SYSDBA" This is Must.
    4. And then modify your INIT.ORA file i.e. InitSID.ora file accordingly and put the file in ORACLE_HOME
    5. Login to Newly created Unix A/c. Check whether ORACLE_SID is set ot not to your standby database instance.
    6. Login to sys as sysdba and start up the database. It will by default would try to check & do for your relevant Oracle SID for this profile...

  • OEM 12c and OVM on the same box?

    Hi Guys and Girls!
Thank you in advance for your support!
Could you please share you experience, best practices and gotchas with installing OEM 12c and OVM on the same OL 5x box?
We would like to install OEM 12 R2 on a OL57 server with an existing production (Oracle DB SE 11.2.0.3.0) Oracle VM Manager 3.1.1.625 installation.
    Some questions:
1- Does Oracle support OEM and OVM on the same server?
2- If Oracle VM Manager and the SE DB are already installed on an OL 57 server in /u01/app/oracle/product, can OEM 12c R2 be installed into /u01 as well, or should we use a different directoty, i.e. /u02?
3- Will the OEM 12c installation program be able to use the same DB as Oracle VM Manager, i.e., its just creates the OEM DB schema and goes on its mary way without harming the Oracle VM Manager DB schema?
    Thank you,
    Roddy

    Alessandro,
    Thank you for your reply!
The irony with my OEM and OVM on the same box question is that the Oracle Sales & Support teams as well as public Marketecture has been recommending collocating OEM & OVM!
I agree with you 100% about resource consumption, and considering how often we must restore/reset Oracle VM Manager I am curious how supportable an OEM & OVM install is on the same box. 99% of my customers are not interested in supporting MySQL, i.e. the DBAs know Oracle not MySQL. As long as Oracle VM Manager resets (DB deletes) and UUID restores (uninstalls and re-installs)  will not damage OEM its all good.
    Thanks again for your support!

    Rob Zoeteweij Rob,
The following is the recommended order of installations for Customer Database (backend DB), Oracle9iAS and Oracle9iAS Infrastructure:
Step 1: Install and configure customer database.
Step 2: Install and configure Oracle9iAS Infrastructure. (apply patches if necessary)
Step 3: Install and configure Oracle9iAS middle tier installation.
Step 4: Perform appropriate post install steps to configure middle tier components with the customer database.

  • Help!!! 8i&9i can not work at the same time

I have installed 8i&9i in one Solaris8, and the port and listener name is diffendent, but now 8i&9i can not work at the same time.
    pls help me
    thanks anyway.

I have hard time digesting your concern.. I have 4 Different instance of oracle running on sun 2.8.
    8.0.5, 8.1.7, 9.i rel 1, 9i rel 2. No issues there...
The simple things is to check is you .profile ( env variables)
    Example ...
Check you .profile or .cshrc ( Depends on the SHELL You are using )
    Let say you have .profile
    THERE IS SETTING SUCH AS...
    ORACLE_SID
    ORACLE_HOME
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    PATH
    etc..
    You could try the following..
log into to you sun box..
do echo $ORACLE_SID this will give you current SID YOU have available to work with..
so lets say if you have a 8i SID CALLED orcl8i
    example assume you have .cshrc
    setenv ORACLE_SID oracl8i
    setenv ORACLE_HOME /oracle8i_HOME_PATH...
    setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH /oracle8i_HOME_PATH//lib: etc..
    etc...
    then
you could validate by doing echo..
    echo $ORACLE_HOME
    echo $ORACLE_SID
    now try svrmgrl
    this should work..
as far as 9i you no longer have svrmgrl..
you have to apply the above method and log into the sqlplus.
    hope this help...
If there is a specific question email me [email protected]
    good luck.
