can i activate an iphone that is from Australia with another sim card?

If officially unlocked, yes...you can use any valid sim card. If carrier locked, no...requires a valid sim card from the carrier the phone is locked to.

  • Can I unblock the iPad mini to use in other countries in Latin America with another SIM Card?

I recently was in Panama and found out I could unlock my iPhone 5S to use it with a SIM card from a local phone company including data.
Can this be done with the iPad mini? Or with any iPad? It would be great if I can unblock it and work with my iPad without the need of wi fi.

    iPads are sold unlocked.

  • Can I unlock my Droid Charge and use it with a sim card in India?

How can I unlock my Droid Charge and use it with a sim card in India?

You just have to call VZW Global TS and as long as you meet all of the requirments you will be able to unlock your phone.
Must be a Verizon Wireless customer.
The device being unlocked must be active on a VZW line of service.
The line of service must be active for at least 60 days.
For converted accounts from acquisitions or mergers (i.e. Alltel, Unicel/RCC, etc.), the line of service must be active in the VZW billing system for 60 days from the conversion date.
The line of service must be in good standing for the past 60 days.  Good Standing is defined as:
    Balance must be current
No service suspensions or hotlines in the past 60 days.
Customer may only have one 3G SIM unlock per line every 10 months.
The customer's manufacturer's device warranty is not affected by a 3G SIM unlock as long as the customer remains with VZW.

  • GUYS MY iPHONE 4 IS NOT WORKING WITH THE SIM CARD IN ZIMBABWE,HOW DO I UNLOCK IT?

GUYS MY iPHONE 4 IS NOT WORKING WITH THE SIM CARD IN ZIMBABWE,HOW DO I UNLOCK IT?

Only the wireless carrier that the iPhone is locked to is capable of unlocking it.  You'll have to ask them if they will unlock it.  Some will, some won't.
    Hope this helps

  • Use of Iphone 3Gs with another SIM card

I purchased an Iphone 3Gs in France from Orange without a contract, i.e. paid the full price and therefore it should be unlocked. I now want to use it for trips and put another SIM card in it. Now after resetting it, it simply tells me that the SIM is invalid... Any suggestions?

Call Orange.  Even though it should have been unlocked, they still lock it until you ask them to unlock it.  They're obligated to unlock it, so don't let them tell you otherwise.

  • What if your iphone 4s did not come with a sim card

Better yet, get a micro-SIM, which the 4S uses.
Was this a brand new iPhone?  They did not activate it at the store?

  • How can I get my iPhone 3GS to recognize my AT&T SIM card after upgrade to iOS 5.1?

I upgraded my previously-unlocked iPhone 3GS to iOS 5.1 today, from iOS 4. I hadn't upgraded the OS in awhile (since the phone was unlocked before a trip overseas).
iTunes says: "There is no SIM card installed in the iPhone you are attempting to activate. Please disconnect and insert a SIM card in the iPhone." I tried taking out and reinserting the SIM card, but that didn't help. It seems that I cannot restore to factory settings now, since iTunes doesn't think my phone has a SIM card and so won't connect to my phone at all.
I realize now that I should have restored to factory settings before upgrading, but given that I did not, how can I fix this retroactively?
    Help?!
    Thanks!

    I did.
I've connected to the M-Cell for a few minutes once. It dropped the one call I tried to make, and my phone hasn't reconnectted since. My roommate has the same phone. We have the same thing happening.

  • Can I unlock my Iphone to allow use of the foreign sim card?

I am going to be traveling outside of the country and I am told i can purchase a sim card to use there to keep form using so much data. Can I unlock my iphone to allow use of my sim card?

        Hello eureka1881!
I hope you have a great time on your trip outside the country! Since this is a forum for the iPhone 4, I'm sorry to tell you that your device is not global capable, and is not able to use a foreign SIM card. It is able to work in some countries, but it depends on the country. You can find the information here: http://vz.to/QsoDVl
    Thanks!

  • Can Verizon activate a phone thats imported from Korea?

I am thinking about buying a phone from Korea. To be exact its the LG KP500 Pink Cookie Quad Band GSM Unlocked Phone.
I was wondering if am able to activate it on Verizon without have to pay any fees. I already have a phone in contract right now. I dont want to buy a phone from verizon, there too expensive and aren't good.

Besides that, it's a GSM mode phone, not CDMA so is not compatible with Verizon's network.  Basically, unless the phone says Verizon on it, you won't be able to activate it on Verizon's network.

  • Can I use a T-Mobile contract-free iPhone 6 in any country with any SIM Card carrier?

I'm from Uruguay and I want to buy an iPhone 6 contract free from T-Mobile. My doubt is if I'll be able to use it in my country with a local carrier. In other words, is a factory unlocked iPhone? Which is the difference between a unlock iPhone and a Contract-Free T-Mobile iPhone?

    Hey Nicolas,
I had the same question, so I went to the Apple chat, and I asked the same, 'cause I need an iPhone to works in South America and Europe as well.
so what the person on the chat  answered me was that the T-mobile cellphone comes Unlocked, so you can use it anywhere.
I Guess I can get it and now.

  • My cousin reported my iPhone stolen can i use it with another sim card

MY Cousin reported my tmobile  iPhone 6 stolen because of personal issue what can i do I really need my phone

There is nothing you can do, unless you can prove that you are the owner of the phone. Who was it reported to. The police? The carrier? They are the ones you have to deal with. Apple does not accept stolen phone reports. Here are Apple's instructions if a phone is actually stolen: Reporting a lost or stolen Apple product

  • My iPhone 5S was working fine with CDMA SIM card until I  updated from 7.1.2 to 8.0.2 now it say (no service)

NO service on iPhone 5S after updating to iOS8

    Hey Yemanynas,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like there is trouble with service on the iPhone. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.
If you see No Service in the status bar of your iPhone or iPad
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Have a nice day,
    Mario

  • My iphone 3gs is hanged on with unsupported sim card

i updated my iphone 3gs now, it's not working .. it stop with an screen unsupported sim card

That's because it was previously hacked to unlock it from the original carrier. You can't get help here for a hacked phone.
If you believe it was NOT hacked, then your SIM has failed. Get a new one from your carrier.
