Can i avoid sending parametrers thru the address bar? (read example)

Let's say I have the following parameter in a web toolkit site (which is still in development).
For example if I post the parameters to the next page:
(previous page) ---> mypage.com/password
if my in my password textitem I only have to put a valid number to go to next page, HOW CAN i AVOID THIS TO WORK:
if I type the following in the Internet Explorer address bar: mypage.com/password(1234567)
if by any chance that number is valid it will go to next page, how can I force and limit the page to send the parameter thru the TEXTITEM in the web, instead of both (the address bar and textitem)

Running a url as described: "mypage.com/password(1234567)", will fail after you patch mod pl/sql.
If you run the url like this: "mypage.com/password?p_parameter1=1234567" will be the only way to call it.
v3.0.9.8.4 of mod pl/sql is where this gets fixed but you really should be on v3.0.9.8.5.

This still doesn't fix your problem as you can look in the html code to find the name of the parameter and then create a url that will work.
Use cookies with a session_id and store the session information in a table with the user information. Then you can build an xref table showing what the user has rights to.

Can not copy a URL from the address bar/line

Why is it proving so difficult for me to copy a URL from the address bar using Safari? When I click on the link I want to copy, it does not highlight. I have used Command L and Command C, and that works but there has to be a simpler way. I also read that if I click the address bar once, then press the control key and click on it again that a menu would appear with cut, paste, copy. That does happen, but all options are greyed out, and not selectable. Another google search resulted in someone saying there was a button or arrow to click on and that this tool would copy the URL.

Click the icon (favicon) to the left of the URL.
That will select the entire URL.
Command C will copy the URL.

Can no longer enter data in the address bar {url Bar}, it correctly follows data from google search bar. It was a 1 month old installation so not a lot of complications

I was not adding anything to Firefox. I Refused tool bars embedded in several application installs on this new computer. Was working fine. Then had a problem with Google search, restored default values and re-tooled Firefox. At this point all worked fine. Then my url, address bar changed color to the same color as the program shell, a grey brown as opposed to the white it was before. TY for the reply, the information was enlightening to be sure. I never knew safe mode was an option with Firefox. I have so many tasks running that I didn't want to shut things down. What I did is turn off some of the last plug-ins I installed. That did not fix the problem at least in the first look. What happened next was very interesting none the less. I had a moment of mouse spastic wrist syndrome and accidentally moved a tab in such a way that it opened in a new window. The URL bar was white and editable. So I moved all my tabs to the new window and everything works as it should. I have restarted Firefox this morning and it came back with the bar editable and I am speechless to understand what I may have done to correct the problem if anything ??

I recently went to the Mercy Corps website to donate. On the donation page, the address bar read "Mercy Corp" instead of their web address with the https. ???

That's about it. Was I scammed? When I left-clicked on the page, the address came up with the https prefix.

After updating to firefox 6.0.1 I no longer can access websites with "https" in the address bar.

I am running Avast internet security. I have tried removing firefox from the allowed websites section and re entering it into the list and I still cannot access facebook, email, bank, etc. Same effect in google chrome but Internet explorer works normally. Not sure what settings were adjusted after the update and where to go to bring them back to the way they were.

In FF 29.0, how to move the address bar on the top of the tabs bar?

It is OK in Firefox 28 and lower to set browser.tabs.onTop=false to move the address bar on the top of the tabs bar. But in Firefox 29, I can not find the browser.tabs.onTop

If you don't specify a username and password on the URL, the user has to provide one. This one is not shown in the address bar. E.g. you can start a form like this:
http://server:8888/forms90/f90servlet?form=logon.fmx
and the user will be prompted for a username and password.
You can also call the form like this to automatically log in:
http://server:8888/forms90/f90servlet?form=logon.fmx&userid=un/pw@db
but the un/pw are shown in the address bar.

Perhaps the icon is the Full Screen icon, didn't even know there was one. You can use "F11" to toggle in or out of "Full Screen" mode. In full screen mode the Firefox window fills the entire screen, and toolbars typically do not display at all.
If toolbars are showing but not the navigation bar use
"Alt" then View > Toolbars > make sure Navigation bar is check marked, and you can show your other toolbars as well.
If the Navigation bar is displayed but it lacks the location bar look for it at
"Alt" then View > Toolbars > Customize and drag "Location bar" to the navigation bar.

All the lettlers on my desktop and in the address bar appear as symbols. Also, I can't run firefox because it keeps giving me a crash report. I'm running Vista, if that helps.

This is my parent's computer. Here are the facts: After using facebook the previous evening, the next time the computer was used all of the desktop displayed symbols instead of letters/words. Upon trying to open Firefox a window labeled Firefox crash report opened. No matter what options you choose (send report, don't send, etc) when you click on an option, another Firefox crash report window opens. So I can't open Firefox. Simple solution would be to uninstall Firefox and reinstall it; however, it is very hard to navigate the computer with no words and all symbols. I am able to open up Internet Explorer, but anything in the address bar or search bar also appears as symbols. If I were to type in a specific site in the address bar, the site will load properly in words but the address bar still shows symbols. After much playing around, I was able to update Avast antivirus and run a full scan and nothing was found. I updated Malware Bytes and ran in for an hour but it never fully finished running before I had to leave. Please help.

Try to disable hardware acceleration.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.
Try to toggle some Boolean gfx.font_rendering prefs on the about:config page to disable some features.

* set gfx.direct2d.disabled to true to disable Direct2D
* set gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.use_gdi_table_loading to false.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

*Preferences that have been modified show as bold (user set).

How can I copy text as-is from the address bar?

I use numerous username/password combinations to log onto an ftp site in the following form:
ftp://fairlyShortUsername:[email protected]
E.g. ftp://moduleFour:[email protected]
Using this method allows me to log straight in because username and password are stored right inside the url.
Due to their convenience, it is useful to be able to pass these links around to others.
If I start typing the username (e.g. 'moduleF'...) in the address bar, the complete URL appears in the autocomplete suggestions and I can use the down arrow to display it in the address bar and copy it to the clipboard.
However, when I paste what I copied (taking the above example), I just get ftp://ftp.site.com. This is no use to anyone without the information that has been stripped out.
I'm not concerned with security (understandably, given that I'm using urls with plain text passwords).
I'm sure firefox is just trying to be 'helpful', but is there any way I can copy the exact text displayed at the time I press Ctrl + C, without firefox interfering? At the moment, I have to look up the username and password and paste them into a url template every time, which given the number of times I've done it, has already taken up more time of my life than it's taken me to write this question, which is why I'm asking.

When I send a group email why does the address bar not present the names alphabetically?

I frequently send emails to groups. Sometimes, for one reason or another, I want to delete one or more contacts from the list that appears in the address bar. Why does the list not appear in alphabetical order and is there any way that I can edit my contact lists to make it do so? It means picking through a list one by one rather than scrolling down a list to find a contact in the correct order.

Basically I suggest you keep using Eudora.
Like most of those moving now, they are unlikely to be happy with anything else. But then that is to be expected, you have clung to abondonware for 5+ years after it's replacement. People that dedicated are unlikely to be happy with anything else.
The Business standard and professionalism are not based on the Eudora way of things. I suggest you stick undisclosed-recipients: into a google search box and get instructions on how to do things for all the major mail clients.
Of note Thunderbird displays nothing in the To field, even though the undisclosed-recipients: is inserted in the outgoing mail.

I am interested however how when you added a list so it appears on multiple lines. All I see is he list name until after I press the send button and look at it in the sent folder.
Most people use another address entirely in the to:, in conjunction with the BCC list. It verifies the list mail is sent by coming back and you can put whatever you like in the display name of the email address.

You might want to try contacting Apple for assistance by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click See All Products and Services>iTunes>iTunes Store>Passwords & Security Questions>Lost or Forgotten Apple ID password. They should be able to explain what's going on and help you reset the password for the old ID if necessary. The call should be free.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

I can open Firefox v4.0b4 no problem, and I can bring up links that are on the google page and pages that are bookmarked, but when I enter a web address in the address bar and either hit "enter" or click on the blue arrow nothing happens.
