Can I copy an image from Safari into a Keynote presentation?

I want to copy images and charts from Safari into my presentation but my iPad won't allow me to select anything on the screen.

If you press and hold an image in Safari, then after a second or so you should get a popup with Save Image (which should save it to the camera roll/saved photos album in the Photos app) and Copy as options.

Whether I use Paste or Paste Match Style (?) it just goes into one column, which is useless. Same result in Pages. But in the Appleshop demo I copied the table from Safari into Excel and it created a proper table.
Apologies if this is already answered. I am new to Mac and to iWorks. I've only got the evaluation version of iWorks v1.0. I was going to get the full version by Xmas - but this is a real showstopper. If I can't use the spreadsheet on web tables (price comparisons, stocks, etc etc) then iWorks won't do.
If it can't do this, are there any other solutions out there? Thanks.

I fixed this issue (with help from tech support) and it involved several things.
After adding a song to iTunes, right-click on the song in iTunes and select "Update iTunes Match."
OR go to the iTunes menu-->Store-->Update iTunes Match.
Maybe that's the reason, it just hadn't updated to the cloud.
OR maybe it's not a high-enough bitrate file. This happens to me because most of my tunes are home-recorded.
Sometimes converting to .mp3 or Create AAC version might work. (You do this with a right-click in iTunes, and then you will want to remove the original file from iTunes.)
There is an iTunes Preferences setting, under General Preferences called Import Settings. Try setting it to AAC Encoder and iTunes Plus. That (I think) causes imports to be slightly better quality.
Good luck! The tech support person at Apple is requesting that a knowlege-base article be written about this.

Can't copy-paste images from Noteshelf in iOS6

Hi,
I use an app called Noteshelf (v7.0). In iOS5, I was able to copy-paste pictures from Noteshelf into other apps, such as Keynote (v1.7.1) or in an email. However, since I upgraded to iOS6, this doesn't work anymore. As the versions of Noteshelf and Keynote are the same, the logical conclusion is that something has changed in the copy-paste functionality of iOS6. Can somebody tell me about this and, better still, give me a fix for it?

Can't drag images from safari into songs as covers anymore

hey i got an issue, i guess it's because of itunes 9.02 because yesterday it worked just fine:
i an album doesn't have a cover art i usually go to google image search, find the cover and then drag it directly to the song.
for example i select all tracks from an album, hit cmd + i, then i drag the cover art from safari to itunes and drop it. until yesterday itunes perfectly took the cover art and applied to the track,
since i downloaded itunes 9.02 it doesn't work anymore.
btw, when i drag the image to some place in the finder and then drag it onto the song it still works.
can anyone confirm that?

Same problem. I thought it might have been a Safari security thing until I tried other browsers with the same problem. Like you said... Dragging from the browser to a staging location like the desktop first and then from the desktop to iTunes work just fine. Odd.
I'm looking around for some new iTunes security option. Minor bug but it's really messing with my workflow.

Why can't I save images from safari? The only option it gives me is Copy.

Every time I select an image on safari, the image highlights and the only thing that happens is it gives me is the blue bubble that says copy. It doesn't give any saving options. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi, if you are still interested, I found a solution. so quick tap on the picture in Images that you want, then under the pictures you'll see three vertical dots, next to closing cross. when you are pressing on dots you'll have several option, you need to press "view image".
The image will open in seperate tab and then you can save it as you would usually do it. hope it helps! )))

Can no longer save image from Safari??

Since iOS 6 upgrade, the "save image" feature from safari is gone! There's a bunch of other options (message, email, copy, etc...), but no way to save an image I find online into my camera roll.

You should update to Firefox 6.0.1 through Help > About > Check for updates
before testing rather than be disappointed with a Firefox update after testing.
All browsers can use the Netscape bookmarks formatted HTML file to copy bookmarks. But according to documentation you can import directly from Safari. Hopefully that applies to your Mac, because it is not shown as an option for me on Windows 7.

Firefox uses the same keyboard shortcut to display menus as used on Safari (on a PC it is the "Alt" key).
Firefox is highly customizable, so you can change the appearance, and a lot of what would be done in other browsers must be done using extensions in Firefox, but the extensions for the "same" feature probably give you a lot more functionality and control. How can I copy text&image from a website to Apple Pages at once?

I'm using Apple Pages 9.1, I can't copy text and images to pages at once. When I paste the copy contents to it, it just only shows text. With Safari, this functionality seems normal. I could copy and paste what I want to the pages.
What can I do now? I don't want to open Safari just only to copy and quit it after that. :D

Does it matter how widely you select? Firefox may be somewhat stingier in what it includes in a selection than other browsers. For example, I suspect you would have better results if you select the entire page and copy and paste it compared with a section of the page. But that's just a guess, I've never used Pages (or any of iWork).

Can't copy an image from a smart album to normal album

I created a few smart albums that just show images from October, November, etc. Now I'm trying to pull a few images from each of those albums into a regular (not-smart) album (it will be of highlighted images, one from each month).
When I drag the image across, the plus sign is there, and it looks like it works, but when I click on the regular album, it's empty.
The only way I can find to extract an image from a smart album to a regular album is to choose the image and select "new album from selection", but that won't work as I intend to pull many images into a single regular album.

Nah, tried that. I have the new album set to "Show All" and no other filters.
I would appreciate it if someone else tried this and could say if they can reproduce it.

Hello,
You can't select image with select query. You need to create another database block from test table which has item binds with database pic column. Now in where condition in test block's property you have to write id=5. Change test block's properties UPDATE ALLOWED, INSERT ALLOWED, DELETE ALLOWED to NO. Only Query allowed property set to YES.
Now in your particular trigger write the code

Why can't i copy and paste from safari into email?

I am able to select text, copy it, but nothing happens after pasting it to the an email or notes.

Do you wait until the Copy button turns blue and then does the Paste button turns blue when you paste the text?

I created a basic calendar originally in Excel and have moved to Numbers. When I copy the Numbers spreadsheet calendar to the body of an email message, it loses all borders and formats and looks like a word salad. I need to paste it into the email message because my recipients are unable to open an attachment. Please help me find a solution. I am a new MAC user.

You can't change the behavior of copy/paste when the destination is unaware of the Numbers specs.
I know that the mail.app available under Mac Os X 10.5 is able to do some kinds of formatting but
(a) I don't know which
(b) I don't know how they are reflected if the target program is not the same mail.app.

I am in the process of migrating from open office to Numbers, since Numbers really does look a lot nicer… however there is one point that I cannot find how to do in Numbers.
If I select a table in Safari, then in Open Office I can paste that table, and it will go into the rows/columns as a table. How can I do something similar in Numbers?

Safari & Numbers have improved in recognizing a table on a web page & pasting it as expected.
Often what looks like a table on a web page really isn't & the blame should be on the web page author not Safari or Numbers. I had this problem for a few years with my online Discover Card statements. Using Firefox or Camino made no difference. When I complained to them their response was "tough, live with it" although maybe not in those exact words. I would paste the data into a Pages document & use a lot of find & replace to get the data formatted to use in a Numbers spreadsheet.
But… it could be that the problem you're having is that you have the cursor active in the cell when you paste. If the cursor is active Numbers "thinks" you want to paste everything into that cell. Click outside the table then click once on the starting cell, making sure that the cell is outlined but you don't see the cursor & then paste. This is a much more common cause than above.

I can't copy and paste from Word into CSS5?

I run in Windows 7 and have many documents in Word, but cannot get any of them to Paste into Contribute. I have had to re-type all the material directly.

I always advise my Contribute clients to "scrub" any Microsoft text before pasting it. You might be able to do this by changing the doc to .txt? Hopefully that would get rid of the layout code embedded in a doc or docx document.
However, since I don't trust anything Microsoft seems to have excess code attached, I first put it into Text Edit on my Mac and save it. Not sure what the equivalent program is on Windows. I think an email program could work just as well, Twigman. You might ask your tech how to save the MS doc so it has no code, like pure ascii text. That way, they will not have to leave Word to scrub the old code out.
