Can I copy playlists from ipod to iphone

I have an ipod with playlists in it. I just bought an iphone 4 from Verizon.  Is there any way to move or copy my playlists from the ipod to the iphone?

No.
Iphone, as the ipod, syncs with itunes.  If the music/playlists are n itunes, then your can sync to the iphone.

  • How can I copy playlists from ipod classic to ipod touch?

I have playslists in a classic ipod...I want to copy them to a new 5th generation touch...how can I do that?  I have tried to copy and paste playlists from the classic into itunes but it will not allow it.  Playlists only appear in itunes when the classic is plugged in.  Won't let me keep old playlists...help.

    Sync them via iTunes.
There is no way to move anything directly from one iDevice to another.

Can't Sync Playlists from iPod Touch to New Library
I just upgraded from an old Pentium computer to a new Dell XPS 18 running Windows 8.1.  Downloaded latest version of iTunes to the new computer, then successfully transferred library content from the old computer to the new one via the external hard drive method.  All material -- iTunes purchases, music ripped from CDs, a movie, even MP3 files purchased long ago from another source -- transferred successfully; everything plays on the new computer just fine.
My problem is that the "old" playlists didn't transfer over.  After connecting my iPod Touch to the new computer, I verified that the iPod has the latest version of iOS, and its content (including the old/original playlists) displays in the window on the left-hand side of the iTunes screen.  The really frustrating thing is that I can find no way to transfer the old playlists to my new iTunes library.  I've tried dragging and dropping, selecting and pasting, and exploration of all the options menus, but no luck.  Creating a new playlist in the new library and then clicking on the "Add To" button opens up a window into which to drop dragged songs/folders from the new library listing, but simultaneously closes the left-hand display window with all of my iPod's current playlists depicted.
I appear successfully to have backed up my iPod to the new computer, but all the sync menu options are grayed out.  When I tried clicking on the Sync button, I got a warning that syncing to the new library would erase everything from the old library -- presumably obliterating my playlists with it.  I have about a dozen different playlists, some of them with several hundred songs, drawn from a library of a few thousand individual items.  Is there some means of importing/transferring the old playlists to the new computer/library, so that I don't manually have to drag and drop hundreds and hundreds of songs into a new set of playlists?  Am I overlooking something really obvious or simple?  Can I safely turn on Home Sharing and then import or paste the old playlists into the new computer's library.  I don't think I'm too much of a Luddite, but given the size of my library I'm very leery of turning on Home Sharing (to the old Pentium computer) after I've successfully transferred over many GBs of content from the old machine to the new.
    Thanks very much --

  • Can I copy library from Ipod to my hard drive ?

I lost most of my library and all of my playlists from ITunes. All of the music is still in my hard drives and still on my IPod. Can I copy what's on my Ipod back into my ITunes library ? If so, how ? I've got a 80 gig, 5th gen, video, and can't stand the possibility of losing all of the playlists. The computer I want to copy this data to is the only computer that was ever used with this IPod.
    My last post went unanswered.

For iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
Find out how to do that here.
How to copy iTunes purchases from an iPod or iPhone to a computer.
For all other non purchased content (your own CDs etc) try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Enable your iPod for disk use.
    See: iPod Disk Use.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it is a little more involved than other methods.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Other free programs are Pod Player, SharePod and Floola.
If you want to recover just the structure of playlists from the iPod (and not the actual song files themselves), there's iRepo for Windows. which I understand has this feature along with all the standard features for these programs.
iPodRip also has the feature enabling you to reconstruct playlists.
There is also CopyTrans. This does preserve ratings/playcounts etc if those are important to you but this program is not free. It also supports video transfer.

  • Can i copy playlists from one library to another

    Hello
i have just found out how to set up another library (by holding the 'alt' keydown when i open itunes - if there's another better way please tell me).
what i really want is a way to separate my playlists from my child's, so i think i'm doing the right thing.
i've created a new library for her, but is there an easy way for me to move her playlists over from my library to hers?
what would be really good is if i could have both open at the same time and then just move them over with the mouse? is this at all possible?
    cheers

  • How can i copy contacts from ipad2 to iphone 5s

How can icopy contacts from ipad to iphone? andd viceversa?
    thanks

Another way is to use one of many apps from the App Store. Note that you'll need to setup the same email account, accessible by both devices.
Search the App Store for an app called My Contacts Backup (free, and available in the US App Store, I don't know about other countries). Install the app on both devices. Run the app on the iPad 2 and have it backup your contacts. It will compile them into a vCard format and allow you to email the file to yourself. On the iPhone 5s, access the email that you sent the vCard file to, find the message and tap on the vCard attachment. Follow the directions and your contacts will now be transferred to the iPhone.
You can simply reverse the procedure to copy in the other direction.

  • COPY MUSIC FROM IPOD TO IPHONE

How can I get my music from my ipod to my iphone? Also calendar, photos etc

Music: If it's not already on computer iTunes, you need a 3rd party tool to transfer the music from iPod to computer. Syncing is one way only Computer -> iPod, iPhone, iPad (Exception: music purchased directly from iTunes using Apple devices can transfer without 3rd party tool).

  • Can you transfer music from ipod to iphone 4

Everything that is on your ipod should be in itunes on your computer.  Just sync it to the iphone from your computer.

  • How can I copy playlists from i pod to i tunes library on new computer

I bought a new computer and had the contents of my old system transferred.  So my i tunes library is on my new computer but none of my playlists. My playlists are still on my i pod. How can I use my  ipod to get my playlists back into my i tunes library on my computer?

Sorry, may I ask, are you running Mac or Windows and which version of iPod?
If you want to transfer playlist from your iPod to the new Computer, you need 3rd party software, here is an earlier post by iSmn
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/1531866#1531866
But since you got your old system transferred, this mean that your library and your playlist are in the new Computer.
So you got to point the iTunes to where your old iTunes library is, here is the link for Migrating the iTunes library in your Mac, but if you arre using Windows, there is a link there for Windows System..

  • Can't copy photos from iPod touch to Mac

My iPhoto Library was on an external hard drive, which unfortunately my friend accidentally dropped, and it no longer works. Luckily, I have the photos synced to my iPod touch. Unfortunately, I can't get a way to import the photos onto my Mac., I've tried iPhoto, Preview, iPhone Explorer and Pod to Mac (which works, but I need to pay to copy them), but none of them are useful solutions.
Does anyone know of a free application that doesn't require me to jailbreak or buy it that I can use to get my photos from my iPod touch onto my Mac (it can be Windows as well as I have a Windows computer)?

Try this: iPhone / iPod Touch Backup Extractor
See if you can find the folder containing your photos if you extract the backup to a separate folder. The photos will be reduced in size, but that's better than nothing.

  • Can't copy movies from itunes to iphone

Just today, and this has not occurred before, I am getting an error message when trying to sync movies from iTunes to my iPhone.  The error message: "Some of the items in the iTunes library, including (movie name), were not copied to the iPhone because you are not aurhotirzed for them on this computer.
I checked, and of course my computer has been and had been authorized on the iTunes account.  I've tried to deauthorize and then re-authorize the computer, still not working.
Is this a problem with iTunes, or a bigger problem that's occurred recently?  It sure isn't working for me.  Very frustrating.

iTunes Store Support has credited me for the purchase, but there clearly seems to be a problem here with the aurhorization process in iTunes Store.  I purchased and downloaded another movie, and sure enough -- same problem all over again.  This has only been happening in the past couple of days, never had a problem before.
Anyone else?  Here's a screenshot of the error message:

  • Can I recreate playlists from iPod to my MacBook?

    Hi,
I accidentally corrupted my library, wiped everything out, and the Library file is corrupted. So, I added back all the tunes and podcasts to iTunes. Can I recreate the playlists in iTunes that I had previously synced to my iPod? I have intentionally not plugged in my iPod, because I'm afraid the playlists will be automatically synced and therefore wiped out. I believe I have it set to automatically sync once I plug in my iPod.
Any help will be much appreciated!
    -Linda

    Hi,
There are many softwares available in the internet. You can retrieve all your iPod songs back to your MacBook without any problems. Just try in Google, you will get some softwares. I had tried long back, but I do not remember the name of the software
