Can I create a form

I was curious if I could create a document that has locked text except for where I want to type in information.
Ie. If the document says Date: I would like the "date" text to be uneditable, but to be able to type in the date... if that makes sense.

Boy it can be hard to find posts in this forum!
I've made the post into a series of tips here:

How can I create a form in FormsCentral be a self-correcting quiz for my students?

    Hi;
You can't make it self correcting.
The only related idea I have is you could publish the Response Table (the "View Response" tab).  You could add an entry for the "right" answers so after a student completes the form the re-direct URL could take them to the Response Table where they could see their entry along with the right answers that you had added.
They could not edit their response to correct it unless they have a FormsCentral account (free is fine) and you share the form with them, otherwise they can still view the link to see how they did (but would also see all of the other students answers).
If this sounds interesting I can give more detail on how to set it up.
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • How can I create a form for users wherein the text field will expand to accommodate additional text?

How can I create a form for users wherein the text field will expand to accommodate additional text?

You need to use LiveCycle (PC Only) to create a dynamic form like that.
The best you can do with Acrobat to view all of the text in a field is to set the field to multiline, and set the size to "Auto" (If you don't set the size to 'Auto', you can enter as much text as you wish, but the user will need to use the scrollbar to view all of the text.)

  • Can you create a form in Adobe XI without using formscentral?

I am trying to create a form that does not fit with any of the templates offered by Adobe.  I used Adobe LiveCycle to create my form last time.  I now have Adobe XI and want to do a simialr type of form but none of the offered formats allow me the freedom of LiveCycle.  Is there a way I can still create a form without using FormsCentral?

    Hi,
Tables are not currently supported in FormsCentral. Please cast your vote on the featue request at http://forums.adobe.com/ideas/1709. We take votes in consideration when planning new features.

Can I create order forms that calculate the exact total with taxes?
The customer needs to know exactly how much everything will cost before submitting. I can handle the actual payment portion manually.

    thanks for the info;
I'll inform the admin dude that they need an upgraded acrobat to do forms.

  • How can I create a form which accepts answers in 2 different languages?

    Hi,
I'm trying to create a form where the users can answer either in English or Hebrew (with the ability to answer some of the questions in Hebrew and some in English)
Currently on the form options it's set for English language (Didn't see an Hebrew option there) and when I test the form I get this error for the fields I try and fill in Hebrew: "The field contains unsupported characters. Please modify your entry."
Is there a way to allow both languages to be inputted into the fields?
    Thanks

    Just use Swing.
You can integrate Swing and Java3D.

  • Can you create a form that you can save to disk?

I created a form for a client. While testing, I got a prompt that the file cannot be saved when completed. It can only be printed. What I'm trying to do is create an estimate form for my client he can fill and save. He then can email or print the form to get client approval. Thanks in advance.

    Hello graffiti,
You can send out as many forms as you wish however you can only collect responses from 500 recipients according to the EULA:
16.8.3 For any unique Extended Document you may only either (a) Deploy such Extended Document to an unlimited number of unique recipients but shall not extract information from more than five hundred (500) unique instances of such Extended Document or any hardcopy representation of such Extended Document containing filled form fields; or (b) Deploy such Extended Document to no more than five hundred (500) unique recipients without limits on the number of times you may extract information from such Extended Document returned to you filled-in by such recipients. Notwithstanding anything herein to the contrary, obtaining additional licenses to use Acrobat Standard, Acrobat Pro, or Adobe Acrobat Suite shall not increase the foregoing limits (that is, the foregoing limits are the aggregate total limits regardless of how many additional licenses to use Acrobat Standard, Acrobat Pro, or Adobe Acrobat Suite you may have obtained).
If Mr. Met is going to receive back in excess of 500 responses then indeed he would need to get the Reader server product.

  • Can I create a form in muse and have it work with a different hosting service?

I contacted a hosting service that I need to upload the site I built in MUSE to. (Hosting has already been purchased). I asked OMNIS:
I want to create a form with Muse and then upload my site to OMNIS, not muse, the forms will display as I designed them, but they will not  function. I have someone to help me who is experienced in working with code. I can use Muse to export my site and then open the files in an HTML editor. "Update the source code of the form to make it compatible with the form processing technology used by your hosting provider (OMNIS) before you upload the files to their server." Can you help me with this? Do I need to get a script or something from you?
    OMNIS ASKED me:
    What are MUSE's site requirements?
I will be building other sites and my clients may want to have the site hosted elsewhere. Can you give me the easiest way to deal with forms?

Thank you for getting back to me Morgan.
    I read in another forum:
There's a handy piece of software from CoffeeCup Software called "Web Form Builder". It's pretty affordable and easy to use and it can be hosted on the server of your choice provided that server uses an up-to-date PHP script.
This is what I have been using....but I would rather not have to deal with a third party form builder at all.
    Do you reccommend this?

  • How can I create a form requesting a digital signature at the end?

I'm looking to create a form for a meeting that allows attendees to fill out their address and pertinent information as an agreement and at the conclusion of the form give them the option to sign electronically/digitally.
How can I do this? Is Adobe Forms the best program for this?

    Hi,
Unfortunately, digital signatures are not supported in Adobe FormsCentral.
In order to collect signatures from the attendees, you can either use Adobe EchoSign to collect electronic signatures or Adobe Acrobat to get the documents digitally signed.
Please follow the links to know more about the services:-
Adobe EchoSign:-Electronic Signature Software, Digital Signatures | Adobe EchoSign
Adobe Acrobat:- PDF converter, PDF editor, convert to PDF | Adobe Acrobat XI Pro

  • Can I create a form that doesn't trigger Acrobat's JavaScript disabled / security issues warning?

    Hello,
Can I create a pdf that doesn't trigger Acrobat's JavaScript is currently disabled and this document uses it for some features.  Enabling JavaScript can lead to potential security issues.
I even get this error when I create a blank pdf.
I'm not using any JavaScript in the form and the nature of the message might tend to be a bit scary to some people since it mentions enabling JS can lead to potential security issues.  I basically want to disable the messaging of a feature I'm not even using.
Anyone know if this is possible and if so, how I go about it?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    I too share your frustration!!
Unfortunately I do not have a complete answer for you.
From the start I must say that Stefan Cameron has been very helpful (http://forms.stefcameron.com/2010/01/14/acrobatreader-9-3-now-available/), however I have not had sufficient time available to deal with the issue (or find a satisfactory resolution).
The original post that Srini shared with you related to an XFA form that had FormCalc and Javascript in it. I will now share with you another situation that is closer to your experiences.
Sometimes where we have a complex solution/form, we often give our users a PDF with instructions and demonstrations. We generate these using Adobe products:
    LiveCycle Designer ES to generate the solution/form;
    Captivate to record the demonstration (.swf);
Acrobat to package it up in a static PDF.
The screen shots below are from a PDF that includes written instructions and six Flash (.swf) files. The PDF does NOT include fields/form objects and does NOT include any FormCalc or Javascript.
One of the big sells in Acrobat 9 was that Adobe had fully integrated Flash (Adobe product, ex. Macromedia) into Acrobat 9. This mean that .swf files could run natively inside a PDF. Brilliant!!!  The website today is still pushing this message, for example:
Now bear in mind that the following screenshots are from a PDF that does not contain any scripting - its sole purpose is to "inform" the user, "look as good as the work I put into it", incorporate instruction and "multimedia" in a "single polished file" and I should be "confident that my audience will be able to view my work exactly as intended".
    Not so!!
When the user now opens the form, all looks OK. No warning. They can read the instructions and scroll down to the multimedia (.swf files).
However when the user clicks on the multimedia, the yellow bar appears:
I go through the "trust" process:
And the PDF looks like it is OK, no yellow bar. When I click on the multimedia, it begins to play - yes!! BUT ONLY FOR A SECOND OR TWO AND THEN IT STOPS AND GOES BACK TO THE START - AGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!. I would apologise for shouting, but this is beyond frustration. The work in capturing six screencasts in Captivate, annotating them, publishing to .swf and packaging up in Acrobat has been a complete waste of time. Worse than that I now have several PDFs out there, that do not work. Good advertisement for my business? I don't think so!!
The document that Stefan provided (Managing JavaScript Execution in the Acrobat Family of Products) does not mention Flash/.swf as being a problem. However I would recommend that you go through this document, as it may help you.
So, where to now? I don't know. The previous posts and Stefan's responses have several urls that may help. You should maybe consider logging your experiences as a bug (log at Adobe).
    In the meantime good luck,
    Niall
    UPDATE:
This behaviour (.swf playing for only a few seconds) happens in PDFs where the .swf is inserted as legacy media to run in earlier versions of Acrobat/Reader. In this case Acrobat/Reader is making an external call to Flash Player. Hence the yellow bar. However it does not explain why the Flash video still does not play when trusted.
If the .swf is added into the PDF as Flash media to run on Acrobat 9 and above, then it works without displaying the yellow warning bar.
So maybe any feature of your PDF that calls an external resource is likely to show the yellow warning bar.

  • Can I create a Form in OS X Numbers the same way as I can in IOS Numbers?

I am using OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 and Numbers version 3.5.2. (2118). I am not able to create forms although my spreadsheet has one header row.
Spreadsheets stored in ICloud for I have been able to create A Form using Numbers for IOS, do not show the Forms when open in Numbers for OS X.
This seems inconsistent to me. Does anyone have encountered the same problem?

Thank you for getting back to me Morgan.

  • Can you create editable forms in Acrobat X Standard?

    Hi everyone,
Hopefully an easy question although I cannot find a definitive answer on the product page.
I need to be able to create editable forms that others can fill in and print or save using Reader 8, 9 or X. Can these forms be created using Adobe Acrobat X Standard? The forms have been created in Word 2007 but we want to disribute them as PDF's and allow certain fields to be filled in on the PDF. The form will be downloaded from a website, filled in and emailed back.
Any clarification on this is greatly received.
    Thanks...

I know you can create forms with Standard but I don't think you can enable them so that Reader users can save them without the Pro version.
    dasnowball87 wrote:

Even if you could do this, you would want to carefully consider whether you want a form out there for everyone to fill out and send in. There is a restriction to the amount of times you can receive data from an enabled form. After 500 times, you would be violating the license agreement.

  • Can we create Interactive forms only with ABAP & without using GP,  or Java

    Hi,
I would like to know if we can create Interactive forms only with ABAP & without using GP or Java. We want to develop an offline solution using Interactive forms, but would like to use only ABAP for creating the forms. All the documents so far either refer to creating the forms, in reference to / in sync with: ISR (Service Requests), GP (General Procedures) or Java. Can this be done with ABAP alone?
    Regards,
    Ramesh

    Hello Ramesh,
You should be able to create Adobe Interactive Forms using only the ABAP stack (without GP, Java, etc). Please refer to the thread below. Hope it helps.

  • Can i create a form from one that i had done before

Can i convert a form that i had already created in word or excel?

Thank youŠthat was the first post I ever submitted.
I think I figured it outŠI was referring to Forms Creator.  I want to use
this tool to create forms for a Policy and Procedural Manual and Forms that
I am creating. I want the forms to be ³active² so that the user can fill out
the proper documents on the computer as needed instead of transferring info
from a paper filled out form or document. Does that make sense?  I
discovered that I needed to save the form or document that I have already
created to a PDF format.  The allow Adobe to identify the fields
automatically then I can tweak from there.  I am in the process of doing one
    now.
If you any suggestions/short cuts, etcŠfeel free to let me know.
    Thank you for your response.

  • Can you create a form to send each user in an organisation an email?

I was wondeing if anyone knows if its possible to create a form, which can be invoked at an administrators discretion to loop through each user in an organisation and if they have an email address to send them an email notifying them they have an IDM account setup.

Through search query you can get all users from specific organization. And after you can run getView on each user in order to extract email. All this can be done by rule.
