I have used eclipse before, but first time to create app in flash. Can I make a pedometer app for Anroid and iPhone? Is there any related tutorial on web? Thanks a lot.

You can use Flash CS6 (and CS5.5) to create mobile apps. I don't know any specific pedometer tutorial, but do a search for gyroscope native extention for Air (http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/native-extensions-for-air/extensions/gyroscope.html) and geolocation (http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/quick_start_as/quickstarts/qs_as_geolocation_api.html).

How do you handle global security settings so everyone on the network can view a desktop app with flash video?

I have written a desktop application that allows a user to view a flash video presentation. I would like to put this application on a network drive so that everyone can view the presentation at their leisure. Is there any way to do this without having each each user enable the location in their global settings? Basically, if the location is not listed, then the video player I am using fails to play.

It's under the pop-up window. Select edit locations to select confirm.

First disable autoplay. It gave errors for me. Try to make the movie play with the play() command.
to embed the movie in your air bundle, just go to publish settings for your flash project. Then in that screen go to the player settings.
In the first GENERAL tab you'll see a the bottom that you can add files to your project
Propably there is allready your .swf and an .xml file in there.
Using the + icon you can add your video.
Make sure that your video is in the same directory as your . FLA file and you can use it as is (by name)
If for example your flashfile is in c:\mytest\mytest.fla and the video in c:\mytest\videos\myvideo.flv , then you will have to load your video as "videos/myvideo.flv" with a FORWARD slash, never use \

Sorry. We can't help you. It's no longer an iPhone. Apple won't touch it.
Take it to whoever replaced the screen and see if they can help you.
iPhones are not user servicable and Apple does not sell iPhone parts at all. I'd be surprised if you were actually able to back it up at this point. It sounds like it's completely borked.

How can I create a video with effects (sepia, B&W, Negative, oval or any other shape borders) using my ipad? I would Like to keep a higher res and also be able to shrink it down to email or send in a MMS. Or should I just upload it to my PC and mess with it there? Some of the apps I have are very easy to use compared to the learning curve needed for video editing software.

Thats the Problem . . . how many apps do I have to try until I find the one I want? I noticed a few will render the video thus losing its original size. When I went to edit it more in iMovie the video was smaller--not good. And what software do you suggest, Templeton, for the PC? I love the apps because they are easy. I dont have hours to mess around on a software to figure out if its something I want. Im looking for simplicity. Maybe Ill get more into it later. I just want to record simple video of my playing the guitar for self analysis and create a short video for family and friends.

Can I embed java app in flash (mp3 recorder)

I need to provide an mp3 recorder from the user's sound card functionality to a flash application. It will be strictly a web app hosted on a server, not an install. User's may or may not have admin priviledges.
I am mostly a vb guy so I was wondering if this could be accomplished with Java, if so how many MS security windows will the user need to wade through?

It sounds like an applet is what you want, but I have no idea if an applet can be embedded or communicate with flash. Try googling "embed applet in flash" or something to that effect.
How much of this sound card functionality do you need to use in java? Java has a separation between the software and the hardware, so unless you have a library already, it will be hard to access native functionality.

Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is critical. Note that you can do this only when creating a new Apple ID. You cannot use an existing ID.
You will of course not be able to get anything other than the free apps without entering in some sort of payment method (credit card, prepaid iTunes card, gift certificate, etc.)

Select Apps in iTunes sidebar. A list of all your apps should be displayed in the main window. At bottom right of the window is a Check for updates button. Click on it, then click to download the updated apps. It's also possible that iTunes checked for updatedin the background, in which case the check button will already display how many updates you have.

I work for a high school and we have about 12 pdfs that we need parents to read/scroll through, then 10 (different) pages that we want them to print, complete and return to the school. Finally, we want them to see a "Thank you, you have done all you have to do" type screen. We want to make it as user friendly as possible so I was thinking...
Reading pages, 1 at a time with next at bottom.
Click next and it takes them on. When they get to printing pages 1 print button prints all pages we need them to print. Click next, and it takes them to optional print pages.
Click next and it says, thank you.

I assume that all of these PDFs were created in Designer. If so you can add any buttons that you want to appear on every page (Next, Previous) onto the Master page then there is script you can add to the buttons to actual move the pages (xfa.host.pageDown() and xfa.host.pageUp()). The Prin button can be added to the specific page and you can pass the page numbers that you want to print as a parameter to the print command. Lastly when you get to the last page and the click Complete you can display a messageBox with your Thank you message.
