Can I filter clips with multiple keywords?

Hi,
I have ingested hundreds of video clips into Prelude CC and at some point I want to filter these using multiple keywords. Entering one keyword only is going fine but as soon as I enter a second keyword, and I reassured that there are clips containing both of them, I end up with zero results. If multiple keywords are at all possible then, how do I have to enter them, separate them? Are Boolean searches possible?

Smart folder with multiple keywords?

Is it possible to set up a smart folder to filter on more than one keyword assigned to an image? I'd like to set up a smart folder that will find images that have 2 specific keywords. I've searched, and wrestled with it every which way, but haven't landed on the solution.
For example:
Img_001 has keywords of "Animal" and "Vegetable"
Img_002 has keywords of "Animal", "Vegetable" and "Mineral"
Img_003 has keywords of "Animal" and "Mineral"
Img_004 has keywords of "Vegetable" and "Mineral"
I'd like my "Animal and Vegitable" smart folder to find Img_001, and Img_002 only.

Yes, you can do that. You would enter these criteria:
"Keyword is Animal." +
"Keyword is Vegetable."
When you enter the second condition, an additional menu appears above them. You need to set it to:
"Match all of the following conditions."
That will give you only photos which are tagged with both keywords.
FYI, you can do something similar with the keywords pane. In Preferences, Keywords, you can set iPhoto to filter based on any keyword or based on all keywords. With it set to match all keywords when filtering, clicking on your "Animal" and "Vegetable" keywords will give you only photos which contain both. The cool thing about this method is that you can Option-click a keyword to exclude it from the filter. So if you didn't want photos containing "Animal," "Vegetable," and "Protozoa," you could exclude "Protozoa" from the filter. Of course, this is done in real time, and doesn't create a self-updating Smart Album. But it's a fun trick for seeing what you have very quickly.

There are several different services that require signing into an Apple ID to use on your iOS device. You can sign into different Apple IDs for different services on your iPhone. For example, Apple ID #1 for iCloud and Apple ID #2 for iTunes & App Store. You cannot sign into the same service with two different Apple IDs at the same time. The attached article has a list of services that are accessible with your Apple ID.

FileNotFoundException with multiple keywords

With multiple keywords 'pi_keyword=account and manager', my program generates: java.io.FileNotFoundException.......sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream(HttpURLConnection.java:702). But the url works fine in IE address box. In addition, if only single keyword
'pi_keyword=account ', my program works no problem. Any solution? Thanks.

I think whitespace isn't allowed in the keyword values, what do you get if you replace space with '+'?
That is: "pi_keyword=account+and+manager" and "pi_location=British+Columbia"

Search for photos with multiple keywords

I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to search for photos that have multiple keywords. When selecting multiple keywords in a Bridge search the default behavior is to find photos that have any of the keywords rather than all of the keyword. In other words I want to do an AND keyboard rather than an OR search.

You should be able to do so in the find menu of Bridge (Edit/Find or cmd+F)
With the plus sign you can add an extra (and) keyword to it.
A shortcut may be to first find one keyword and then use the filter panel
keyword section and select the other wished keywords by putting a checkmark
in front, only the selected files will show in the content window.
In other words I want to do an AND keyboard rather than an OR search.

Clipping with multiple masks

Is there a way to clip an object with multiple masks? For example, with the outlined letters of a word?
I'm using Illustrator CS3 on a Mac.

JPEG does not have transparency, but I don't think you really need it. All you want is for the background image to look lighter, right?
I think it would be easier to use an "Opacity Mask" rather than a clipping mask to create the effect you are after.
To do that:
1. Make a 75% gray rectangle the size of your photo and align it to the photo.
2. Move the text that will contain the "solid" photo above the gray rectangle and make it white, then group the text with the gray rectangle.
3. Select the group along with the photo and choose "Make Opacity Mask" from the Transparency flyout menu.
You can edit the opacity mask anytime, by selecting the masked group in the layers panel and clicking the opacity thumbnail in the transparency panel. To view only the opacity mask Shift-click on the thumbnail.
This should be easier to edit and export fine.

Can Apple TV work with Multiple TV's?

Is there a way to hook one Apple TV up to multiple TV's to view video's at the same time? Like have one in the bedroom and one in the living room???

Yes, you can. I have my Apple TV, DVD, and Cablebox hooked up to 6 televisions, plus audio wall controls in several rooms.
Whatever output you are using, you are going to need to split the signal and also amplify it - otherwise you'll lose signal quality. So, you need a Distributor / Amplifier that will take whatever input you want to provide it from your Apple TV and give you with multiple amplified outputs to run to different TVs.
I also had the constraint of wanting to use existing co-axial cable (i.e. a standard TV antena cable) to transmit the signal because that's what I already have run to multiple rooms. For this part, you would need an "Apple TV S-Video Converter" (do a Google search on that for a vendor). This takes the component video out from your Apple TV and converts it to an S-Video signal (i.e. a composite video signal that you can run over co-axial cable). It's true that composite video isn't as good as HDMI or component video connections, but it's perfectly workable and it makes everything else easier and less expensive presuming that you'd otherwise have to run new cables.
A final thing worth considering is a remote IR solution (such as Powermid) so that you can control your Apple TV from any room in the house.

Multicam clips with multiple audio tracks

Hi,
If I wanted to use a multicam clip to cut between the video, but instead of a single audio track I wanted two audio tracks to be audible all the way through (say from 2 mics) with the ability to mix them, how could I accomplish this? Would I need to handle the audio seperately in the timeline and sync manually?

Thanks - the podcasts were very helpful, but I am still not sure about my specific question.
With a multiclip, you can cut audio only, but within an angle I can only have one clip right? Perhaps I need to first make a synchronized clip with all the audio that I want to mix for the whole multiclip, and add that compound clip to an angle. I then keep the audio on that angle all the way through, cut video only between whatever angles I want, but then open the compound clip containing the audio to do the mixing.
Is there a way to have two clips in one angle (one on top of the other)?
If anyone has a good workflow for what I want to achieve, please let me know.

How can I share Catalog with multiple users?

I have Mac OSX 10.7.5
The catalog exists on a shared LOCAL folder that other users have read-write access to
The catalog works fine for the 1st user (no issues viewing, tagging, or updating photos & repairing it yields no issues)
However when I try to open this catalog with any other user I receive an error that the catalog may be corrupt and therefore cannot be opened...
Has anyone been able to share their catalog with multiple users on a Mac?

If anyone runs into the same issue - I figured out why it wasn't working for me. Turns out it was actually an issue with folder permissions.
Despite the catalog being in a shared folder that all users can read/write to - Macs apparently don't understand inheritance & I needed to set the same read/write access to every sub-folder (the catalog folder & all of it's sub folders) as well.
This fixed my issue.
The Catalog is now shared between multiple users on the local drive with all the photos/videos stored on a NAS drive.

Shuffle - can it be used with multiple winXP computers???

Can my shuffle be used with multiple computers without losing songs that are on one library and not the other?
I keep seeing references to "manage files manually" but I don't see that option for my shuffle settings. I just lost my songs when I plugged it in to my computer at work...

The problem is that you are using application-identity. When you
specify an objectid-class, we treat is automatically as application
identity. To resolve this, I would recommend removing both the
objectid-class and identity-type atributes from your class. With
"objectid-class" in place, we asssume that you wil take care of identity.

To use ClassSequenceFactory must the identity-type of my entities be

Can't submit form with multiple signatures

I have a form with multiple signatures. I've enabled Reader Rights. After the first signature signs, the user must save the document. When the document is saved, then the user cannot submit the form to the next signer. Is there a way to change how this is working?

Did you design the form with Adobe Designer? Assuming you did, when you add a signature field, there is a property enabled by default that "Locks all fields" after signing. A submit button is also considered a field so it will be locked after the first signature is applied.
You need to either disable this property (I would not recommend this) or create field collections that are assigned to specific signature fields. A field collection controls which fields are locked by each signature field when signed.

Premiere Pro CC - can I waveform sync with *multiple* camera and audio clips a la Pluraleyes?

Many of us use Pluraleyes to sync DSLR and 2nd audio WAV files using waveforms. (No timecode.)
The ability to sync in Premiere Pro CC was mentioned in several feature lists, but I only see the ability to sync one clip at a time.
Is there no way to line up several MOV and WAV files, with different start / stop times and no other match other than waveform, and sync them automatically in Premiere Pro CC in a sequence (or by creating multiple merged clips)? In other words, can I mimic the functionality in Pluraleyes in this new version of Premiere Pro?

Currently, the best way to do this is by selecting all the clips in the project panel, right click on them and select Create multi camera source sequence. Sync via audio, choose your audio sequence settings (if you want audio from both clips, select all cameras) then hit ok. Multicamera is smart enough to do this batch process and make multiple MC Sequences with only the clips that match each other. Unfortunatly merged clips or timeline sync will only do one at a time. Robohelp 9 search: heavier weight with multiple keywords?

We are working with the new search engine (moved from 7 to 9) and are having some issues with the way that our users are used to searching. One thing was came up was the question of whether a single keyword added multiple times to a topic would bring it a higher weight in the Robohelp 9 search ranking. Does anyone know if it will disregard multiple instances of the same word in the Keywords in the Topic Properties or if we can use that to stack the deck?

One way to "stack the deck" so to speak is to ensure the keyword is used in the Topic Title. Aside from that, ensure it is also used in the Keywords field of the topic as well as in heading levels. For example, a keyword in a Heading 3 will be trumped by the same keyword in a Heading 1. And that is trumped by the keyword in the Topic Title.
