Can i have 2 users on one iTunes instillation

Thank you for reading my question, i would like to explain my situation properly.
I have a PC and my father has a MAC at a different address in the UK. We both have iPhones and both struggled with iTunes to the point where we didn’t use it. My brother flew back for a birthday from where he lives in the USA and spent a few hours showing me how to use it using Artist, Album, Album Artist etc and now after 40hrs of my own work I have iTunes working perfectly and its amazing!
My farther will struggle with this so I have offered to help him sort his iTunes now my brother has flown back. I don’t fancy spending many hours round his house sorting it out unless I have to.
I read that you can export from a pc to a mac (hope this is true) but here is my question: I have a spare laptop that I don’t often use and I wanted do the work on it at my house in my own time with a box of his cd’s and then when done use a HHD to take the files over to him to load on his Mac. Problem is that iTunes is already installed on my laptop in my mother’s name ( was her laptop before used to set up her ipad 6 months ago) There is no files. Apps or music on it but it is in her name. Do I need to un-install iTunes and re install it in my dad’s name ( one of his 5 allowed computers) to enable me to do this or can I somehow sign out of my mothers name and sign in as him, problem is I don’t really understand fully how it works. I did try (de-authorize this computer) but when I put in her apple id and password is said it was incorrect. ( I know it is correct because I can sign in to icloud with her  username password)
Thanks for reading my problem. Frazer

Each can sync with the same playlists, or different ones, and can have different apps...
Uncheck the Automatically sync new apps box on the Apps tab after connecting each device and before syncing. Once this box has been unchecked each device should remember the setting and only sync the apps that have already been selected for it, plus any you then decide to manually add to the list or purchase on each respective device.

Yes. Either create and use separate Windows user accounts, or launch iTunes with the Shift key held down as desired.

  • Can I have more than one itunes account on my apple tv?

Can I have more than one itunes account on my apple tv?  We have two accounts in our family and would like to be able to switch between them.

Thank you.  What I was really trying to find out is if there is a limit on switching iTunes accounts - I have a vague memory of reading that changing from one iTunes store account to another was going to be limited in some way, but maybe this is on iTunes itself?  Or perhaps my memory is incorrect?   We have two iTunes accounts and swap back and forth regularly on our iPhones and iPads to buy and update apps without a problem.  I couldn't find any reference to it on a quick search yesterday so what I have done with the AppleTV is leave it set to one account, and we watched the other account content via my Macbook.

  • Can you have more than one iTunes account with home sharing, Can you have more than one iTunes account with home sharing

Can you have more than one itunes account at one time with apple tv

My understanding is that the home sharing is based off of being on the same Wifi.  So if someone brings their laptop to your house and connects to your Wifi and they have home sharing on they can connect so you can see his/her iTunes library on your iTunes.
I haven't tried this though.  We have two laptops at home, both using my iTunes account and I can see each other's iTunes library, which I'm guessing is what you're probably doing now.  I'd be interested to know if my thought above is true.

How many devices can I have connected to one iTunes account?

If you mean authorized computers, five.
If you mean devices associated with iTunes Match or automatic downloads, ten.
If you mean devices synced with a single iTunes library, there’s no limit.

I Have two iTunes accounts because I spend half the year in Canada and other half in U.S.
I Just  switch the country. I have to do this because an iTunes card purchased in the U.S. Is not valid in the Canada store. And Vice Versa.
i Also have two icloud accounts. That is what I don't know about.
Do I need two? Can I have all my purchases in each country under one account?

  • Can you have more than one itune account on one computer?

I am wondering if you can have more than one iTunes account on one computer?

    Yes, that's possible.
Do you mean two different Store accounts or two different iTunes libraries? (Either is doable.)

  • Can you have more than one iTunes account on the same computer?

My wife just got a nano and wants to set up her itunes library. Since we have different tastes in music, I thought we should have separate libraries under our separate log-ins to our PC so that her music didn't upload to my iPod and vice versa. Is that the right approach or is there a better way?

There are basically two ways of using multiple iPods on a computer and these involve:
    a) Sharing a single iTunes library and user account.
    b) Creating multiple user accounts and having separate libraries.
    Sharing a Library
If you want to share the one library, you can set either or all of the iPods so that they only get updated with only certain playlists (you can update from more than one if you wish):
Loading songs onto iPod automatically - Windows
Choosing the update option "Sync Music - Selected playlists" allows you to create a playlist specifically for the iPod and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used some other time if you choose. You can read more about playlists at these links:
iTunes: Creating playlists of your favorite songs
How to create a Smart Playlist with iTunes
Or you can choose to update any or all of the iPods manually and just drag whatever content you want to them: Managing content manually on iPod
    Separate User Accounts
Another option is to create a separate User account for each person on your PC or Mac. Different accounts by definition would give you completely separate libraries. Each account has it's own iTunes folder, Library and iTunes Music folder and you load it with CDs etc just as you did with your original one. The iPod can be set to update however the owner chooses, sync all, manual or sync specific playlists

  • Can I have more than one iTunes account on 1 computer for 1 iPhone?

I just got an iPhone. However, base on the iTunes Store in my country (Malaysia) there isn't an option for music.
Can I register another iTunes account under the USA using the same credit card?
I note that under the registartion page, I am required to insert an address in the USA. As I dont really have one, how do I continue with the registration process?
    Many thanks.

It is the labels and copyright owners restricting sales, not Apple.
Most likely, Apple would love to sell as much as possible but they can only sell where they have permission.
Copyright is different for each country and a label may have copyright in one country but not in others.

  • Can you have more than one itunes on a pc?

My laptop has broken down i've recently go tall my data moved to an external hard drive. When i try to access itunes on my hard drive but using another laptop it takes me to the itunes already stored on that pc...
Is there anyway to access my itunes?

If you have a Dell, which it seems you do, then you
won't be able to use two iPods on one
computer, due to Dell's fantastic power issues
concerning the motherboard and USB ports that receive
power through the motherboard. As to whether you can
have two or more iTunes, I don't know, but
wouldn't really advise it. I do think that because
two iPods in one iTunes doesn't work very well, Apple
should address this issue, but I guess that they have
better things to do with Macs.
OR read the article suggested in the second post in this thread.
BTW, TWO simultanously connected iPods are NOT supported by iTunes for Windows...

  • If using one computer for several iPods/iPads etc can you have more than one iTunes account.  iPods/Pads etc have a variety of user names

We have three of us with a selection of iPads/iPods all downloading through one desktop computer.  Can we set up more than one library on the desktop so each person only sees there only downloads/music etc.
