Can I have separate timer in each line of a multi_record screen
I have a multi-records screen, each record have its own time display to show how long this patient is waiting. I use a timer to redisplay every 10 second. However, I have to requery the screen each time and the screen refresh each time. Can I show the timer of each line without require to refresh the screen?
I haven't tried this but it ought to work. Use calculation properties (type of formula) to populate your elapsed time field. The formula will be a calculation involving (presumably) the start time in your multi row block and a clock field in a control block which you will set using a single timer.

I need to time-stamp each line in a table for when it was entered.
I have a formula which is
"=IF(F18="","",NOW())"
it gives me the answer I want, but every time I edit any data in the formula is recalculates the date/time to reflect the most recent edit. I do not want to do this. I am open to any and all solutions including using a script. I do not really know anything about scripts except that they are really easy to use once it's written.
I have a formula i use in excel but it requires circular references in excel. I tried using this formula in numbers but I get the error that says I cannot reference a cell that references back to the cell i’m inputting the formula into (circular reference. It is easy to use in excel just by limiting the # of iterations in preferences. I can’t seem to find any such preference in numbers. Do you know of one? here is the formula:

I use it to time stamp each line in a spreadsheet. It is the only way to keep all the previous line from recalculating everytime I add a new line. If I can’t use this formula, do you know of a way to timestamp each line without having it update everytime I add a line or edit the form?

Check the Insert menu:
The highlighted item is slightly misnamed, requiring a bit more than a simple selection (or keypress combination*) to act as a time stamp.
Simply choosing the menu item willproduce the result shown in A2: A time and date value is entered, but only the Date part is displayed.
Setting the cell format to Date and Time, with both parts displayed (as I've done in column B) does show both parts of the Date and Time value, but as you can see, the time part is set to midnight, as it is in any cell where you have entered only the Date part of a Date and Time value. The date was entered here in the same manner as in A3.
To enter both the current Date and current Time, the process has a few more steps:
Select the cell
Go Insert > Date & Time
Before confirming the entry, double-click the cell (now showing the Date) to open this small dialogue:
Click the pop-up menu under Choose Date format:
Choose the last item in the list.
Results as shown in A4 and B4 of the table above.

The one in the menu is a user-defined keypress combination, made to be easily remembered, not to be physically convenient to use. Any time icloud gets turned on the contacts, and other info on the phones get shared with all devices. Is it possible to stop that and have separate iclouds foe each device?

Two iPhones. One account. Can I have separate calendar alerts?
I have a new 4s. My wife has my old 3GS. We are using the same iTunes/iCloud apple I'd account. It's nice because she can make her own calendar and I can make my own calendar. If I don't want to see her calendar I just deselect it in the calendars to view menu. I can see her stuff if I want to and she mine by going the other way. The problem is Calendar ALERTs. Even if I've deselected her calendar, my iPhone still beeps a reminder at me from one of her Calendar alerts and vice versa. Is there some way to make it so that the alerts only occurr if I've selected her calendar to view?
I also have kinda the same problem with reminders. She gets mine and I get hers even though I've got two separate "lists" of reminders. Can I stop that?
Also a similar deal with contacts. Can we have separate contacts lists and only see the others when we want to?No, sorry.

You got it with that same apple id thing. You can use different apple id's, but then they will not sync. Apple does allow as many free apple id's as you want, but they are in the business to make money.

Can I have 2 Time Machines for 2 backups?
I have an external hard drive that I use for my time machine. Recently I've been having some problems with my iMac that are hard drive related. I wasn't able to repair using disk utility and had to erase and reinstall Snow Leopard and then transfer everything back from time machine.
After this I realize just how fragile this all is. I have many photos and videos of my family from years ago and was relieved that I had everything backed up. Hard drives are so inexpensive these days, I feel it may be wise to have another backup in the unlikely event both hard drives were to have problems at the same time.
Can I have two Time Machines? If not, what are my options?
Thanks for any suggestions on this topic.Yes, but not simultaneously. You can switch the desired backup drive using TM preferences, but TM cannot backup to two drives concurrently. However, I would suggest not using TM for your second backup. Instead consider making a bootable clone on the second drive. You can then use a third-party backup utility to incrementally update the clone. Because this software is running independently of TM you can have both a TM backup and a third-party backup. With TM backing up hourly you can set the second backup schedule to backup weekly and/or monthly.
If something does go amiss with your main system drive, then you can boot from your clone in order to restore function to the main drive.
To avoid using up space on the TM drive be sure you add your second backup drive to the TM Exclude list.
Basic Backup
Get an external Firewire or USB drive at least equal in size to the internal hard drive and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. (Note: Most PPC Macs cannot be booted from a USB drive.) You can make a bootable clone using the Restore option of Disk Utility. You can also make and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):

Yes, you can go apply for a new AppleID, which would be <your account>@icloud.com.
Then put this new AppleID into the icloud account field.
After this action, you will not be seeing the same contacts and appointments.
But for the itunes store, you still can use the same AppleID so that you can share purchases.
My wife and I use separate icloud accounts, and then we use a 3rd appleid for our itunes store. This allowed us to have separate contacts but still share itune purchases. -

If you want to and it is so large that it has room (350% is a good estimate for TimeMachine), then use a partition(s) to hold system restore images or bootable clones. Or VM images.
Using SSDs most Mac Pro models can easily hold 6 or more storage devices inside, except the nMP cylinder 6,1's; which do need external Thunderbolt and USB3.
System drive / data / scratch / backup data / backups of system / ....
I recommend a couple system backups, especially when faced with dual boot situations as well as an OS that is still undergoing updates and changes. -

I have several boot partitions over several disks. Am I allowed to have more than one Time Machine partition - each backing up different drives?
The same question was ever asked against Snow Leopard here, and the answer was no, "You can't have more than one Time Machine destination disk active at any one time."

Thanks heaps in advance.Called Apple Care Support and confirmed that only one Time Machine backup can be active, in other words, only one destination drive can used to perform Time Machine backup automatically.
Therefore I had to hoose the largest internal HD (4 TB) to back up all other drives (total 2.5 TB).

How can I have separate Libraries in iTunes for my Children?

I have bought my children iPod Touch devices for Christmas this year and would like to set up accounts and libraries for each of them (3 in total, one for the Mrs!) so I can sync them and put some games and apps on ready for use.
Is it possible to have multiple Libraries on one computer? I know I can open iTunes accounts for each of them but they're not at that stage yet but will - at some point - require different games, apps and whatnot.
I'm sure a friend of mine has a different iTunes library for him and his wife on the same computer and they don't have any sync'ing problems at all...

Dave.You can likely set up different user accounts on the computer and have a library in each account. I use a Mac so I can't be more specific on user accounts on Windows.
Alternatively you can set up different libraries inside a single user account. I'ts a bit cumbersome switching between them though. You can create and switch betwween libraries by holding down the shift key while starting iTunes, then guide it to the library you wish to use.
Another possibility would be to sync just playlists, not everything. While there are ways to share items between libraries using other methods, this one has the advantage that all the things are in one library and each person makes their selection.

As for AppleID and accounts, you might consider setting up sooner rather than later. The main problem with Apple purchases is you cannot transfer them between accounts. If you give a child a song for a birthday and purchase it on your account, it is forever tied to your account. If in 10 years your child wants to take with them to college you'll have to give them access to your whole account or always be authorizing their devices which you may not wish to do. -

I want to backup our photos only automatically to my Windowns 7 PC using Photostream & iCloud from both devices BUT I dont want her photos on my phone and vice versa.

Have you tried to omit "internal code" from your grid? In normal circumstances, if you have "ID" and "Quantity" on the grid, then WebI will on its own summarize Quantity based on ID, however, this is provided that Quantity has been set up as a measure (or metric). The quickest way to tell if Quantity is a metric or not is to observe the color of its icon when you look at it in the data panel. If it is a purple (or sometimes appears as pink or fuscia) dot, then it's a measure, but if it is a blue box then it is a dimension. If you need Quantity as a measure then this will have to be modified at the universe (make it look like "sum(Quantity)" in the select phase of the object, and insure the object is defined as a number....
