Can I measure with DAQ NI 6115 differential signals with a value of 0-5 V? ( ACH0-3 - is then outside the spec of +-2.5V)

I have to measure differential signals (0 to 5 V level). Unfortunately the maximum working voltage of the analog input channel of NI 6115 S-serie - is +-2.5 V. What will happen? Will the performance of the NI 6115 decreases? And - can I get an error when I connect fast signals to - (!), because the inputs are pseudodifferential?

I don't think you should be running into any type of problem trying to measure a 0 to 5 V differential signal using the NI 6115. The maximum working voltage for the negative input is specified at +-2.5 V, meaning that you can have a maximum common mode voltage of 2.5 V in your measurement system. However, the maximum working voltage on the positive input is +-11 V or +-42 V, depending on your voltage range. If you are going to be going above this limit, then you may want to reconsider your measurement setup as you could damage the hardware.
Though pseudodifferential signals are usually composed of a signal on the - input that is slow to change, the 6115 is specified at a maximum sampling rate of 10MS/s, and thus I think it is going to be OK to co
nnect a fast signal to these inputs (depending on what your definition is of a fast signal).

Can counter measure pulse width difference between two signals

I am interested in determining the high pulse width time that two signals have when they are in various phases between eachother.

Why don't you try one of the pulse width examples. I don't know what ADE you are using, but you can search for examples (http://www.ni.com/devzone/dev_exchange/ex_search.htm) with the key words "+pulse +width" and find several examples in different languages. This will measure the pulse width of one signal, but you can program most of the counters to do multiple tasks at the same time. Just copy the code twice and change the counter number to program counter 2 as well. If you want the ORed pulse width time, I would recommend adding a OR gate to your circuit and then feeding that into a counter.

Can see and recognize my wireless network and Internet is working, but I can't connect with ANY computers/iPad/iPod/air TV, etc. I have reset the time machine several times, and can see the network, but cannot access it with any device. PLEASE HELP!

I have Comcast Internet and have it connected to a Motorla Surfboard modem and have that running directly to a 2TB Time Capsule. The TC is serving as our time machine as well as our wireless router. We lost power in a storm a week ago and can no longer connect to my wireless network I can see the network and sign into it via password, but cannot connect with any device(iMac, MacBook, iPhones, iPod touches, air tv, etc.). ALL of these devices worked gat before the power went out. I reset both modem and TC and still can't connect. I can connect to the Internet through Ethernet cord directly from the modems dn have confirmation(per Comcast service) that the Internet is working and we have a good connection.
The TC is less than six months old so I'm not sure what is wrong. I have reset settings with TC to no avail. I have reset the TC SEVERAL times and have no idea what could be wrong and what is prohibiting me from connecting. Anyone that has ANY suggestions or ideas as to how to fix this, PLEASE HELP!!! I'm going crazy using iPad 3G and not being able to connect to our wifi. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME AND I LOOK FORWARD TO GETTING BACK TO THE 21ST CENTURY!

Anyone have any ideas or information to help with this? Any help and consideration is MUCH appreciated.

Can' get online with my desktop even though my computer shows it's connected to the super hub

My desktop is showing it is connected to the super hub, but it cannot go online. Each time I try to open a safari window, it shows me that I'm not connected to the internet.
The hub has been changed by the provider and the signal strength is normal.
What do I do?

How are you connecting to the hub - ethernet cable or wifi?
If it's wifi, and it's a new router, is the Mac seeing the wifi network to join,
and have you input the new wifi password the router almost certainly has?
I note that all other devices are connecting so this probably isn't the case, but is MAC address filtering enabled on the hub/router - it can block connections. If this is the case, you need to either turn it off in the router settings or press the 'association' button to put it into pairing mode for a few minutes while you get it connected.

Analog period measurament with ext. clock.

Can I measure a period of an analog signal (6052E w/ SC2345 accesory) with an external timebase (6602 w/ BNC2121). The devices are RITSI'ed together. I am trying to do this in DAQ mx.

The terminology between Traditional DAQ and DAQmx is quite a bit different as far as counters go. In DAQmx, the gate and source pins on the counter are no longer featured in the API. Instead, you either specify the source of the input signal, trigger, timebase, or clock that you want to use for your application, and the driver will automatically route the source to either the internal source or gate pin on the counter as appropriate. To see how the source and gate pins are used for different applications, look at the NI-DAQmx Help->Key NI-DAQmx Concepts->Counters->Counter Parts chapter. For example, if you want to use an external timebase for your counter, you will need to set the Counter Timebase Source attribute (Counter Input:General Properties:Counter Timebaseource) under the DAQmx Channel Property Node.

Sound Power Measurement with 4472

Is onboard DSP a must for any Sound Power Measurement?
I know that NI-Sound Power Plus works only with 455x.
Is it simply because NI has not yet written a software for Sound Power Measurement using 4472 or is it technically NOT possibly to do Sound Power Measurment using 4472?

1. The 6036E is a "sweet" card for high-speed, high-accuracy DAQ on the PCMCIA bus. Even at 10-times oversampling you can achieve 15-20 kHz of response with nice line resolution in the FFT. My experience with the PCMCIA bus has shown a wild variation in DAQ bandwidth (IBM/Compaq...the PITS -- Dell...the best ; and , no I do not work for Dell). For signal conditioning, I use SCXI (so I can not comment on the use of the other components). If you can live with interchannel skew, the set up looks quite promising. Our DAQ requirements demand the use of simultaneous sample-and-hold (SCXI 1140) for either two-channel hot-film measurements or multiple sound pressure measurements with precise cross-correlation (to eliminate wave reflections and e
chos within the test article). Our microphones were developed by NASA for use in VERY HIGH temperature environments, so our signal conditioning ahead of the 1140 is made from custom devices.
2. It is important to note that any toolkit add-on to LabVIEW "could" be written by the end user using the very same subVIs distributed with the Full Development System. Sound power is merely a term used to describe a particular mathematical method involved in transforming the acquired sound data from the real domain to the frequency domain. Read CAN Data message With more Than 64 bits

I'm working With CAN card PCI Series 2 with Labview 8.2.1 and Measurement and automation 5.1.
I'm making measures from an ECU.
This one (please see piture) is composed with more than 64 bits for one ID.
I don't found how I can read those Data using "Channel API". Is It possible ?
On MAX I am not able to creat CAN Task measure with more Than 64 bits...
It is necessary to use only "Frame API".

NI-CAN Channel API is not able to deal with Multi frame messages, so you would need to use the NI-CAN Frame API to read the Multi frame message and do the conversion into physical values on your own.

How many computers can I autorize with a single Adobe account?

As a librarian, I work in many schools. We slowly start to buy eBook for students with difficulties in learning. Often, books are protected by DRM: we have to use the same account to open the books that the one we use to buy it.
For now, only one person will be allowed to buy eBooks (me), so we will only have one account... but each student have his own computer, so I will have to autorize each computer with the same account.
1. Can I do that?
2. If yes, how many computers can I autorize with a single Adobe account?
3. If no, what else can I do?

(1)You can do that with (2) up to six devices total including your computer.
(3) The only other thing is to try to contact Adobe to see what arrangements they can make.
Alternatively, contact Overdrive, who are the service most libraries use for lending ADE DRM books,
which is effecitvely what you want to do.
I am afraid I can't give any idea of the best contact points for those oarganizations.
Maybe some other public librarian will be able to point you in the right direction.

Downloaded the latest software ios6 on my ipod. when i plug it into my computer itunes tells me ipod is in recovery mode you must restore this ipod before it can be used with itunes, how do i fix this?

ok, so i finally found my ipod. I pick it up and it asks me if i would like to download the latest ios6 software so i did. Then moments later it died, ran out of battery. So i pluged it into my computer via apple usb cord. Then this is what itunes says "iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode.You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes". You have to restore the iPod, no ifs, ands, or buts...
After iOS is installed you will be asked if you what to set it up as a new iPod or if you want to restore from a backup.
If you have a good backup you can restore that and you're good to go.
If you don't have a good backup, then you end up with a "clean" iPod....

Unit of measure with language Key

Hello Guruz,
WHile creationd of purchase order, there is a check kept which compares the vendor communication language which gets updated in the Po header - Communucation tab with Db table T006A which holds the Unit of measurements with Language Key and pops up an error message.
It cheks the order unit in the PO, and the T006A whether the unit is maintained in the Language key as in the PO header - Communiction tab.
But while creating a unit of measurement in CUNI, we dont have the option to maintain the language key for the UOM.
In CUNI, it defaults the language key as EN in table T006A.
I need a prompt support from you guys on this issue. Please suggest how to go about with this?

When i am trying to go for the language key in CUNI, it says that the said language is 'not available in server'. I guess it is checking whether the language patch is updated in the server.
But it doesn't sound logical to maintain all the unit of measurements in all the vendor languages. Suppose if we are having vendors with 75 communication languages and we are having 50 units os measurements, so does that mean that we have to maintain units of measurements 75 X 50 times ?
Kindly provide your inputs on the issue. We are facing lots of issues with this control kept in PO header checking for the T006A with the vendor communication language.

4. 1080p50 is a perfectly legitimate mode for shooting, particularly if you're shooting video with a lot of action, since it has double the actual frames of 1080i50. However, your output video may or may not actually have 50p frames (or even be 1920x1080), depending on what form of media you're publishing as. The BluRay files that Premiere Elements outputs, for instance are 50i.

Can't Connect with Remote Desktop, It worked before!

Hello. We currently bought alot of seats of Remote Desktop to connect to computer not located in the office. During the time spent here at this office, all the remote desktop connections worked fine. Once the machines were moved up to the new business location, we tried to connect to the machine. We changed the IP's to the ISP new ip, which the server then port forwarded the correct ports to the specific ip for those machines.
We open up Remote Desktop on the computer, with the scanner, and type in the ip address where the computers are going to be stored. Once the ip is in, we can see the computers have been located on the scanner. When then select a computer we want to observe/control/curtain and typied in the username and password, which are all correct. It then says " connecting to "theipaddress" for about 1 min, then displays an error message saying "Connection failed to ipaddress".
something that ive noticed, is that in the scanner window the icon is grey, instead of its little blue monitor and only displays the ip address in the name field, but not the computer name like it did when we ran it thru the lan. question is what are we doing wrong.

You can't communicate with a machine that has gone into deep sleep mode. If the screensaver is running, you're okay ... but once that cuts out and the screen goes blank, it's out of touch.
In ARD 3 you can tell whether or not it's available by the colour of the little 'monitor' icon to the left of the the listing in the Scanner or All Computers windows.

Depending on what you mean by power off. If you mean putting the phone to Sleep, you can tap on the Home button to bring it back. If you turn it off completely, then the only way to turn it on is to use the physical Power Button.
