Can I order a Custom iMac??

Hello Best Buy'ers :-)
So the title says it all. Can I order a custom iMac in store? I really LOVE the 27" iMac but like the Apple website they offer the "Build to Order" Option. Basically I wanna keep the iMac simple, two things I want to option are:
- Swap the Magic Mouse for the Trak Pad
- Add the 256 SSD Drive ALONG with the 1TB option
I only ask because I don't want to buy through apple and as someone who would have to Finance the item, I already have a BB Store Card and I love the 24 months no interest on purchases...where as apple only offers 12 months no interest. Credits excellent in all but I don't want to have to apply for ANOTHER credit card. Ya know? BTW This is for the latest updated iMac with the Sandy Bridge Processors and Thunderbolt connections...anyone know anything about custom orders?

As Indian Apple site or store does not customize, can apple ship this customized iMac to India? Please help, as I as buyer in India is helpless. I don't mind paying extra for shipping but we need to be able to get this facility especially when Apple doesn't customize here.
And when I am the paying the cost, I would rather pay for an upgraded machine as it is for my work.

Thank you for the reply.
But I know apple store for USA does not ship outside the United States, its just that in India, an iMac cannot be customized. So which Apple store in the world customizes and ships to India? That is the big question here.
Because its not right for apple to customise only for certain countries and where other countries are forced to used the base models / products available only in the stores even when we require the higher configured models especially when our lively hood depends on it.
Please help.

Can you get a customized iMac from one of the retail stores?

I wanted to know if it was possible to get a customized iMac from one of the Apple retail stores or Apple affiliated retail stores ( www.yescomputers.com for example )?
The reason I am asking is because the ONLY problem I have with Apple is their shipping. They seem to always use FedEx when shipping to me and FedEx, SOMEHOW, is extremely terrible at shipping products to my address. UPS is fine but FedEx just can not figure it out.
If it is not possible I think the base model 27-inch: 2.66GHz might be okay. I would just like to know either way.

As far as I'm aware, Apple do not sell customised/configure-to-order Macs in their Apple Retail Stores.
If you want to configure your Mac, you have to order it online from the Store.Apple.com website.

How can I order a custom size photo from iphoto?

Hi,
I have three frames that I want to order photos for from iphoto. The custom size is 5 x 5 which is no problem selecting from within iPhoto, but when it comes time to actually place the "order", there is no option to select a 5 x 5 size. Can anyone tell me if that is possible?

You can't from Apple. You'll have to use a 3rd party online photofinisher that offers square photos. Or print them yourself.

Can i order a custom iPhoto postcard (to US) from Thailand?

I wanted to buy a postcard I have created with iPhoto and send it to my friends in the States. Everything went well until I needed to fill in the billing address. There is no States in Thailand though. So i got stuck at that point.
Anyone knows how to make it work? Is it going to be ok if I fill it in with dummy like CA or MI to get through the purchasing process?

Just thought that it would be a good idea for Christmas and the card would probably be made in time.
But this sounds a lot like I have to find another option. As far as i know, iPhoto printing service is not available in Thailand yet.

Anyone order a custom imac 27? What is the wait time. Usually apple products are a bit more specfic than just a month like 1 week or 3 weeks....

In further reply to the original totally reasonable request for some indication on realistic dates.
Custom machines ordered on 30th November now seem to be shipping. mine changed status in the last couple of hours although apple have not emailed me at all yet. The estimated delivery date however is not until 8th January making it around 6 weeks between order and arrival (assuming all is well and this is for UK delivery)
However in saying that there will have been a peak order around the time of mine so you could reasonably expect that the timeframe should reduce a little as time goes on. I would not hold your breath waiting for it to arrive in January, but you get it shipped next month..

That certainly looks like a low memory issue, 2 GB ram is barely enough to run Mac OS X versions from Lion through Yosemite. The high number of Page Outs and killed processes show very high memory pressure.
Try adding memory, but be sure it is high quality, Mac certified memory such as that from OWC, http://www.macsales.com or Crucial, http://www.crucial.com

Install 10.6.8 on one computer to access the App Store, purchase, and download Lion. You can install on all the computers you own. Although you can re-download Lion after you purchase it, you may prefer the following:
Make Your Own Lion Installer
1. After downloading Lion you must first save the Install Mac OS X Lion application. After Lion downloads DO NOT click on the Install button. Go to your Applications folder and make a copy of the Lion installer. Move the copy into your Downloads folder. Now you can click on the Install button. You must do this because the installer deletes itself automatically when it finishes installing Lion.
2. Get a USB flash drive that is at least 8 GBs. Prep this flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.
3. Locate the saved Lion installer in your Downloads folder. CTRL- or RIGHT-click on the installer and select Show Package Contents from the contextual menu. Double-click on the Contents folder to open it. Double-click on the SharedSupport folder. In this folder you will see a disc image named InstallESD.dmg.
4. Plug in your freshly prepared USB flash drive. You are going to clone the InstallESD.dmg disc image to the flash drive as follows:
Open Disk Utility.
Select the USB flash drive from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the USB flash drive volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Drag the InstallESD.dmg disc image file into the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
When the clone is completed you have a fully bootable Lion installer that you can use without having to re-download Lion.

I created a new sales order type, finished the configeration.. but when I use it to create a order by t_code VA01 ,input the order type and sales area ,then enter, why the sold-to-party and ship-to-party are inmodifiable? i can't specify the customer... where is the problem?

I think u havent did the Partner determination for that Sales document. If you create ur own sales doc type in VOV8 ,new entries.
U need to maintain the Partner determination for that sales doc type.
this is the same,the way u maintaint the customer partner determination.
If you dont maintain this , in VA01 screen, u cant able to enter Sold to & ship to parties as it will be in display mode. I think the same error ur getting know as per ur issue.

In the Database Expert, expand the Create New Connection folder and browse the subfolders to locate your data source.
Log on to your data source if necessary.
Under your data source, double-click the Add Command node.
In the Add Command to Report dialog box, enter an appropriate query/command for the data source you have opened.

After Leopard reinstall and upgrade can't order book

Had to do an erase and install yesterday and restored my harddrive from Time Machine. (My iMac hung on restart and that's the advice I got from support). Also did the 7.1.3 update.
Now, I can't order iPhoto books. It hangs on Connecting... when I hit order book, or, if I get past that, iPhoto will assemble the book and then hang when it tries to place the order and give me an error message about checking my network connections (it seems fine in other programs, but I'm not trying to upload a large file in anything else either).
Any ideas? I was hoping to order a book before the coupon expired tomorrow.

Am having the same "Network Connection Error" ever since last evening. I have contacted iPhoto/Photo Services Support HERE. and will post their response as soon as I hear something. I too am worried that the special discount will expire prior to our ordering. I have talked with an Apple tech, and he did acknowledge a problem. But he suggested that I post to the above for "exact" help. You may want to do the same.

You might want to go for a Configure to Order version that has a Vesa Mount on the back and then use a short wall or desk mounting arm.

Order of custom labels on Address Book

When I edit custom labels on telephone field, in a new Card, and save it, the order of custom labels changes everytime I entry in Address Book's Card, apparently in random order.
Can someone help me?

same problem here. I even trashed my cache and prefs for Address Book, re-opened the application and set up the custom template from scratch. Alas, the order of fields seems completely random once a filled-out card is displayed. Trashing the prefs seemed to help from the standpoint that I can now go in and (very tediously) cut/paste info from the fields (and change the labels accordingly) and it seems to stay in that order once saved. Annoying problem…
Update: Well, it seems that the order is not retained once closing and re-opening the Address Book application. Each time it re-opens, the fields are in a random order. The order of the fields in MobileMe seem slightly more stable, but not completely. Very strange.
