Nanos do not support video. Only the 5th generation (30GB and 80GB) full sized iPod do.

Trimming=Delete.
When you trim the video, you’re trimming the original file, and any frames you delete from the video are gone forever. So you should make sure you really want to make cuts before you do so, or at least, back up your videos to your computer first. Sounds like you have no backup(which is done as the first part of a sync) before you trimmed. Thus, the footage is gone.

I don't remember my passcode and can't restore it via find my phone or through iTunes.

I just recently found my iPad that I haven't used in about a year after getting a Mac. I don't remember the passcode that I had on it so I can't get into it. I went onto iCloud.com and tried to erase everything via find my phone so that I could get into it, but it won't work until the iPad is connected to the internet. Wifi is on, but the iPad isn't connecting. I tried hooking it up to my computer and restoring it to factory settings that way, but it said that I have to turn off find my phone first. So I went back to the iCloud website and removed the iPad from my apple ID thinking this would turn off any find my phone things connected to my iPad. Apparently I was wrong. So now I am locked out from trying whatever pass codes come to mind because I have put the wrong one in too many times, the data won't erase because it's not connected to the internet, and I can't restore it because it is waiting to connect to the internet to erase the data. On top of all that, since it is an older iPad, I can't chat with apple support without paying $29.00. So is there anything else I can try to get this unlocked or do I just have a $300 paperweight?

FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
3. Repeat the process if necessary.

I did not read the rather long post. If you wish to reinstall OS X 10.4, use your software install DVD. Backup is essential. To minimize your risk, I would use an archive and install:

In that way, you will have a fresh copy of OS X and your current settings will be preserved.
Incidentally, I do not agree that the printer problem is best solved by reinstalling OS X. I have had HP printers for sometime and, on one occasion, had difficulty after an upgrade. HP technical support walked me through uninstalling all traces of the HP driver and then reinstalling.

My trash folder was accidentally deleted instead of compacted. Can my deleted trash be restored? And (hopefully) if so, how? Thanks in advance for any help!

I gather from your answers that you still have a Trash folder, but it is now empty. Right? If so, I'm afraid there is no "undelete" function.
If you have a webmail access to your email provider (such as mail.google.com), you could look there to see if your messages might still be in their trash. Sometimes they don't actually empty their trash for days or even weeks.

My daughter recently upgraded her iPhone to the version 3.0 software.
When she finished the upgrade she said that all of the addresses appeared twice.
She deleted the dups but it appears that that deleted all of the entries...
Her address book was completely empty... and her mobile me address book was
also trashed.
I emailed my address book backup and she installed it but the only relevant addresses
are family members.
I seem to remember that iTunes did a 'backup' during the upgrade process.
Is it possible to 'restore' from the backup ( even though she has replaced contents
of the address book with my address book data and her address book 'syncs' with
mobileme)?

itunes is not a backup program and doesn't make backups. I don't know what you mean here.

which backup? do you have one? or are you talking about mobileme? if you have a backup you can restore AB from it. quit AB and restore the folder /users/username/library/application support/address book. if you don't have a backup there is nothing to restore from and your AB data is gone. I suggest you start backing up to prevent such problems in the future.
iTunes does have a Backup and Restore option.
Right click on the iPhone icon in the Devices sidebar that appears when the
iphone is connected to your mac and a context menu appears where you can choose
to Backup, Restore and other options.
Note that there is a 'Restore' Button on the Summary Page also....
I guess the question is "Does a Backup also backup the Address Book data?"

I can't restore my iPod video!

I downloaded the latest software updater. I plugged my ipod in to the USB and when I load Software Updater 2005-11-17, it tells me to "Plug in a iPod to update." I need help! PLEASE!!

A windows formatted iPod should be able to be read by Mac, so your problem seems odd. Have you tried restoring while connected to your Dell? Otherwise you may need to send it to Apple so they can wipe it for you. If that is the case, you'll obviously want to back up your music first.

I know this is a dumb mistake. That said, I moved two Excel documents to the trash and emptied it (regular empty trash, not secure empty trash). Is there any way I can get the two files back?

You can also go try FileSalvage, as it is very powerful.
Also if you could take your drive and use it under a Windows machine, I know several other programs, most of them free to use.
I recall FreeUndelete, PCI File recovery (not sure about this one though) and TestDisk.
Yes, I am showing Win programs, because I tried finding the same alternatives for Mac, free, and it didn't happen to exist. By free I mean freeware also.
One last and important note, if you wish very much to recover these files, it is best for you not to do anything with your mac, or at least the drive. By anything I mean anything that could ask the computer to write on the disk itself. This is all because the "room" occupied by your exel files on the physical disk is now know by the OS as empty, but the disk itself don't go at the "room" and put zeros all the way. Meaning, your files are still preset, but not for the OS. And as soon you will write down something on your harddrive, the OS will simply find the nearest empty spot, being perhaps where your exel files were.
Worst, OS X support some sort of dynamic defragmentation, which replace all the empty space by files (so the disk is continuous) as much as possible, when you actually open files.
Your best bet so far is to try out Dale's program, or perhaps switch to a Win computer and try, and try as much as you can not to write on the disk.

I have no sound when I stream videos to my apple tv. That is a problem when trying to stream concerts or anything. I downloaded the latest updates, but no change. I used to be able to do this no problem. Anyone have any suggestions? I followed the apple support trouble shooting guidance but it did not help any.

Check Sky's website - I believe they prevent the video streaming in the app (as do several other companies, possibly due to rights issues beyond logic).

How can I restore a purchase of a film bought through my ipad

I recently bought Luther series 1 and 2 through my Ipad. I accidently deleted them. I know there is a possibility to restore deleted purchases, but how exactly in this particular case. I would like to download then again on my Ipad. Itunes refers to these items as purchase. Therefore re-downloading them should be possible, should'nt it?

If it is avilable, on your iPad open iTunes > Purchased and you can re-download past purchases.
