The parental controls are a more sensible solution, anyway. You can restrict their activity without the need to spy on them. They really are entitled to their privacy.

How can I see what my eBook looks like in Mac Preview?
I just wrote and published an ebook online. Some of my customers who use a Mac have mentioned the Table of Contents has weird symbols in it.
It looks fine on my Windows machine.
Turns out they are using the Macintosh Preview program to view my pdf file and my eBook is showing up odd when using that program. It works fine in Adobe Reader for Mac users, but not when they use Preview.
Is there a program I can download to my Windows computer which will emmulate the Mac Preview program so that I can see what it looks like using that software?

A customer sent me a screen shot of the table of contents. I used Microsoft Word to create the Table of Contents which made the table contents clickable (i.e. click on the section and you'll jump to it in the ebook).
I'm betting the problem lies with the fact that I used Microsoft Word to create the TOC and make it clickable.
Any thoughts on how to fix this while keeping the TOC clickable?
Also, I'd still like to know if there's a Preview program I can install on my Windows machine.

When I compose an email, the composition window is not wide enough, so as I get near the right margin my cursor suddenly disappears behind the right edge of the window for like 10 characters or so and then it reappears on the Left Margin and I can see it again. So if I type something incorrectly out there on the right where I can't see it, I'm screwed. And there's no mechanism to widen the window. In Explorer, there was an arrow halfway down the window that I could click on to widen the window. So I'm gathering this is a browser/Firefox issue. Please advise.
Can't you resize that text area when you move the mouse pointer to the bottom right corner?
Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" in case the current setting is causing problems.

Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.

It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with overlapping text. -
Can I see what Playlist my song is in by holding Option
I just read in Mac Life mag that using Address Book I can hold the option key and see what groups a contact is in - they are highlighted in Yellow. Cool, so how can I see what Playlist my Song is in using iTunes? I bet this would be a fantastic feature and one millions of people would welcome. What do you say - is there a way? A secret way?

How can I see what, when and how much has been downloaded from the net?
I use a satellite internet service which limits me to only 200Mb of downloads in a 24 hr period. Should I go over, I am "locked out" of my internet service for the next 24 hr period. Lately I have been locked out without thinking I have downloaded anything. I am wondering if there is a place on the computer I can look to give me an idea what has been downloaded and when? I did change the Apple software update to not "automatically update important files" but I am wondering are there any other programs or anything the system may be downloading automatically without me knowing and what can be done to rectify it?

I was locked out yesterday and when I finally got out of "lock up" today, I went to my satellite internet provider's site to see how much and when it was downloaded. I booted my machine at about 10 AM yesterday and according to their site between 10 and 11 AM I downloaded 188MB of data. Then from 11 AM to Noon they said I downloaded another 28MB which then resulted in my being locked out of the internet until noon today. During that time I was on the net, I initiated no downloading from any site nor did I have any video streaming. What is frustrating is I have no idea what is being downloaded or how much. Most other days of the week it appears that downloaded material is 75Mb or less and I can remember generating the downloads.Looking at their site, the "downloading" of mystery material begins quickly after booting the computer which leads me to believe, as Kappy was saying, this is likely something like Apple Software updater or such set to "Download on Startup". I guess I'm not quite sure how to check to see what is set to "Download on Startup" and how to make sure nothing downloads at startup unless approved by me. Any thoughts?

Hi i've made an applet that has 12 buttons on it, and when the user presses 4 buttons it is stored in an array called myList. Each time a button is pressed sequenceCheck method i created gets called. This has a list of the possible correct combinations that the user could press the buttons in. I have 23 solutions so far. Most of them are working fine however any solution that has the button10, button11 or button 12 in it doesn't seem to work? And i'm not sure why? I've looked at the code over and over and can't see what i've done wrong.
Solutions that don't seem to work are: solution 3, solution 7, solution 8, solution 9, solution 11, solution 13, solution 16, solution 17, solution 18, solution 18, solution 19, solution 20, solution 22 and solution 23. Sll of which have ethier button 10, button 11 or button 12 in it?
If anyone can see what i've done it would really appreciate the help.

Is there a program or setting that lets me see what is being sent from me while on the Internet?
address, location and general profile like operating system type and whoknows what?
I know that there may be more sent when connecting to a site.

You might try "Little Snitch". It will tell you when something wants to phone home etc but interpreting what is trying is not straightforward. It won't say wewantyour_money.com . One there thing is that a lot of what goes un noticed is flashed up to you for approvel/disaproval and this can interrupt your intended action whilst you respond. Look the app up

You have to sign into your iCloud account at icloud.com from a computer to view your iCloud data. Also, be careful not to delete data from your phone that is being synced to iCloud or it will delete if from iCloud too. (For example, if you delete a contact from your phone with Settings>iCloud>Contacts set to On it will remove the contact from iCloud too.)

After doing a category BU to my WD Passport Ultra, how can I see what was backed up? The Smartware tells me that what I selected was done.But how and where can I confirm this? Thanksgrowlybear
Simplest way is to open the drive in Windows Explorer, then in the root you should find a folder WD Smartware.stor. Within that should be a folder for each device you've backed up, and within that a folder for each drive on that device that you've backed up. Within those drive folders you should find the files/folders that have been backed up from that particular drive. You can look through them in the same way that you look through the files/folders on your actual drive itself, and confirm that everything is there that you expect to be.

HELP PLEASE!!!!Photo stream photos can only been seen on devices connected to your photo stream, not on icloud.com. Also, be aware that photos are only kept in photo stream for 30 days. After that they are removed from photo stream but will remain on any device that has already received them. In other words, if the photos you are looking for are older than 30 days they won't be in photo stream any longer. They would only be in the photo stream album of a device that has already received these older photos from photo stream.
The only other place iCloud stores photos is in a device backup. If your old phone was backed up to iCloud and if the backup is still in iCloud, the backup should contain the photos. However, the ony way to acces them would be to restore a device to the entire backup, including all its data, not just the photos.
Finally, if you backed up your old phone to your computer by syncing it with iTunes, this backup would also include camera roll photos. If the backup is on your computer you can use 3rd party software such as iPhone Backup Extractor to extract the photos from this backup and avoid having to restore the entire backup to another device to access them. -

To the far right you'll see Manage Devices
Once it's clicked you will see all of the devices currently authorized in iTunes/on your account

I'm afraid to deauthorize. I have my 5 limit but don't remember all the computers authorized to play my music. Can you see what computers are authozied before you deauthorize them....or do you just reauthorize from the start. What do I need to reauthorize computers?
