Can I set my ipad2 as a personal hotspot?

I wanted to do that because sometimes I'm using a laptop and wanna connect to internet , while I only have ipad2 to use with.

Don't think this is possible on an iPad...

I am a heavy user, that I use iphone ipad2 ipad3 imac mac mini etc...
Just found that ipad2 does not have personal hotspot, that I dislike.
Transfering photos form old to new device (I do not use icloud) through itune is troublesome.
New features are only implemented in new expensive product.
I think it is time for to think of other brand samsung.

IPad can't find ANY wifi networks or personal hotspot each time I return to my home network

I have an iPad 2 as well as iPad 4, iPhone 4 and Macbook Pro. Each of these connect fine to my home network, however my iPad 2 suddenly couldn't find any networks or my iPhone 4 personal hotspot, bluetooth or wifi.
I went to Singapore and hey presto, it could find and connect to wifi networks with ease.
Then I came home to Australia, couldn't find any networks or personal hotspots again. Went to work, same issue, couldn't find the network at work. So took it to the Apple Genius Bar and it worked automatically again without changing any settings. Reset to factory settings just incase this somehow helped getting it home.
Took it home, worked fine. Recovered from a previous backup and still worked fine.
Brought my ipad into work yesterday, couldn't find my personal hotspot or wifi networks. Took it home, can't find any networks. Reset my modem and it still can't find any networks (or my personal hotspot) even though all other devices automatically connect.
Any suggestions? I suspect when I take it to Japan next week it will probably work fine, then I'll come home and it probably won't. Is it some sort of software issue? Why would it stop working every time I take it out of my home network and bring it back?
I have all the latest updates.

Does the ipad have any management software put on by your workplace ? If so this my be somehow disabling your wifi. The other thing it may be is the wifi channel your wifi is broadcast on but as it happening to you with a lot of access points it prob isn't this it may be a hardware issue, you could take it To an apple store and if it works there try connecting it to your phone. You could also try this, go to general > one of the last options (between VPN and reset) is profiles (This only shows up if u have profiles installed) if you have profiles go into it and delete the profiles then restart. this may help. dianneb, great question and thanks for the help Weth. The good news is if you're on More Everything the mobile hotspot would be apart of your plan just as Weth mentioned. What you just want to keep in mind is that the usage from the tablet while connected to the hotspot would take from your current plan allowance. Hope this helps!

You can't use a personal email account (MSN/Gmail/etc..)

Can't Pair iPhone to iPad using Personal Hotspot

Hello. I have an iPhone3GS and an iPad (WiFi only). I recently updated my iPhone to use the new 4.3 software and see that it now has the "Personal Hotspot" option. I called AT&T and activated the functionality. However, it appears that I can only use the "Hotspot" via bluetooth or USB.
That's OK but I am trying to connect it to my Ipad. I cannot seem to figure out how to pair the iPhone to the iPad. In the Bluetooth screen, neither of them will show the other. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

My iphone setting freezes everytime i use personal hotspots

I don't know what went wrong with my iphone
Recently my laptop uses my iphone as a router to connect to internet
and everything works great.
I usually left personal hotspot on untill the next morning, that means i don't turn it off when I am sleeping
and the next day on my laptop, the bottom right shows the internet isn't working.
so i would go back to my iphone trying to turn it off and restart personal hotspot again.
here comes the problem, everytime the internet isn't working, and i try to reopen it
my "Settings" always freezes and I can't change any settings
I can still using my iphone to play games, or any other applications, but not "settings"
what could possibly go wrong?
Does anyone have the same problem?

Yea.. Same problem here. And this *only* happens when the hotspot is suddenly not working (which is also another different problem, why does this happens so often anyway). Even the blue status bar won't dissapear even though i've turned the personal hotspot off.
Everytime this happens i usually restart my iphone. But here comes another problem. i always have to do a force restart (holding power button + home button). Coz the iphone will also freeze (the shutdown process takes forever) if i attempted to turn it off under this condition.
Btw, if i stop personal hotspot during an active connection, this problem doesn't occur.

Some of the reasons why some music for sale via the iTunes in the U.S. is not for sale via the iTunes store in England or in another country and vice-versa and the same for music and tv shows also affects the sale of 3rd party apps in each country.

Hi Bahlul,
I don't see such a feature on CUCM where you can have a separate ringtone for a Directory number based on the calling party number. Even to have separate ringtones for different lines on the same IP phone you need to play with Distinctiveringlist.xml , but that too does not fit your requirement as it will always be the same ringtone for all the calls on that line. You may probably get this feature through some third party solution but i am not sure if it would be worth it for applying it on one phone only.

If you have a Pop mail account, Thunderbird can only access the Inbox on the server and download anything that has not been previously downloaded.
This is how all pop mail accounts work.
If you have an IMAP mail account you need to '''subscribe''' to remotely view server folders. You subscribe a folder by right-clicking on the remote Inbox, selecting "Subscribe", expanding the Inbox tree in the window, and subscribing whatever folders you want. You can configure it to show all folders by unchecking the checkmark at "Tools -> Account Settings ->Server Settings -> Advanced -> IMAP -> Show only subscribed folders".
You can also choose to synchronize folders for offline use.

I probably should have been more specific in my first post. I have tried various corrective steps including the ones found at this link. Below is the network event log entry from the failed attempt to connect. As you can see, the connecting system can see the hotspot but can't get the hotspot to answer roll call. In settings under mobile (cellular) I've turned on mobile data, 3G and data roaming.
Under mobile (cellular) data network APN details are filled in and I have tried reset settings all ready.
What I'd like to do is link the two devices so I can use my phone's 3G on my iPad.
I can't get either device to connect via Bluetooth with each other!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

1.) Confirm that your iOS device, computer, and wireless plan all meet the system requirements for Personal Hotspot.
2.) Verify that Personal Hotspot is enabled by tapping Settings > General > Cellular > Personal Hotspot.
3.) Verify the Internet connection on your iOS device by tapping Safari and loading a new webpage.
4.) If one connection type doesn't work, try another (for example, instead of connecting using Wi-Fi, try using USB or Bluetooth).
5.) Try disabling and reenabling Personal Hotspot from Settings > Personal Hotspot or Settings > General > Cellular > Personal Hotspot.
6.) Install the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
7.) Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
8.) If none of the previous steps resolves your issue, restore the iPhone.
Depending on your cellular network connection, incoming or outgoing phone calls may interrupt your Personal Hotspot connection. After you end the call, Personal Hotspot should automatically reconnect with your devices.
If you are outside your wireless carrier's network coverage area, you may be roaming. If that is the case, you will need to have Settings > General > Cellular > Data Roaming set to On to use Personal Hotspot.
Data roaming charges will apply. Check with your wireless carrier if you are roaming to verify any additional charges.
When Personal Hotspot is enabled, your iOS device automatically shares your Internet connection with your computer when connected using USB.
Example: When you connect iPhone to your computer to charge or sync with iTunes. To avoid unnecessary data charges, turn off Personal Hotspot when not in use.
