Hi ,
I want to make traffic balance on my office. Because we have two leased line.
I would build up NAT in the solaris x86.
Can I set two router ip in the solaris x86 server? And How to do it?
The traffic balance is work or not?
If that is not work, what can I do?

Yes, you can use solaris x86 as a NAT box.
add another ethernet interface, and install
IP-filter, or sunscreen

I would have one event listener that is aware of a boolean variable that has scope outside of the event listener, isBold for instance?
When you click on the button, have the event listener toggle the boolean variable and then if true, set the text to bold, if false set the text to plain.

1 modem arescom with 2 outputs, RJ45 and USB( from where i'm posting here...)
1 Desktop PC with Archlinux
1 Notebook with Windows XP, wifi card integrated
so...how do i enable the router in order to share internet from my adsl provider?
the router IP was detected on WindowsXP is 192.162.2.2
i tried entered into firefox 192.162.2.2 but i get nothing

i get something today...
i conect the router as indicated by the router instructions
and i edit my /etc/rc.conf with

i cloned my Mac Address ( because is registered in my internet company, if not, you won't have internet...)

I'm trying to set up my new Linksys E1000 router. I have followed the setup instructions, and the program says that I am connected to the router, but it can't determine if I can access the internet? I don't understand what the issue is.
I have Time Warner cable. I don't think it's a time warner issue because if I connect my old router it works fine and I can connect to the internet. What am I doing wrong?

Can't set up router using CD - WRT54G

I used the CD and followed the directions exactly. After everything was hooked up and the lights were just as they should be, I got the message that the router couldn't talk to the computer and I should check the cable and my Ethernet card. My Ethernet card is working fine (I'm using it now to send this e-mail), and the cable was properly connected.
I used the cable that came with the router. Could the cable be faulty?
My ISP uses a static IP address. Could this be a problem with the CD setup procedure?

Connect the Cable Modem to the Internet Port
on the Router.Then , Connect the Computer using a different
Ethernet Cable to Port 1 or Port 2 on the Router.
Now, Press the Reset Button on the rear panel of the Router
for 12 Seconds. Then, Release the Reset Button,
Unplug the Power Adapter to the Router. After 10 Seconds,
Unplug the Power Adapter to the Modem. Then Wait for
30 Seconds, Re-connect the Modem, and once the Lights are
up on the Modem, Re-connect the Linksys Router.
Now On the Computer plugged into the Router, Open a new
Internet Explorer Page, and in the address bar, type
http://192.168.1.1, press return, And when asked for Username
and Password, Leave the Username blank and in the Password
field, type admin . This will help you access the Router's
Console. Now, Just below the Setup Tab, Change the Internet
Connection type from "Automatic Configuration - DHCP " to
" Static IP ".Now, Enter all the details given by your ISP,
like the Static IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway,
Static IP DNS 1, Static DNS 2 ,then check them whether they
are entered correctly, then Click on Save Settings.
And if you have any Wireless Computers in your network,
Click the Tab " Wireless " at the top,
Rename the SSID from ' Linksys' to your preferred name.
Alter the Wireless Channel to 6, Enable the SSID broadcast ,
Save the Settings.
Then Click the Tab ' Wireless Security ' below the Wireless Tab,
Set the Security Mode to WEP, Default Key as Key 1,
Encryption Mode as ' 64 Bits10 Hex Digits ' ,
Leave the Passphrase blank, Type a 10 digit Key
[ can contain 0-9, A-F ] in WEP Key 1 Field alone,
Copy the Key on a piece of paper for your reference,
Save the Settings.
Minimise the Screen, check whether you are online with the
Computer plugged into the Router, If Yes, Cool....
Now, Go and Restart the Wireless Computer.
Search for the Network , While connecting to the New
Network , and when prompted for Security key, Type
the 10 Digit Number/ Confirm it. It should connect.
If Issues recur, Updating the Firmware on the Router
could help.

Yes, I dont think so too. However, you can set your widgets' time to different time zone. By using hot corner to activate widgets, I located the clock near the bar so that I can see both clocks at the same time (fortunately the widgets page is "semi-transparent" )

Can I set my iCloud email as the outgoing mail server for my google apps email account in Mac Mail?

I have a google apps email account from an old client, all my work emails have been going to it for years. As I'm no longer affiliated with this client I'd like to make a transition to using my iCloud account for work. I asked people to use my iCloud address but as they've been using my google apps address for years it's what automatically comes up when they type my name.
I figure the easiest way to make a transition is if I reply to all the emails that arrive at my old address from my iCloud address and gradually they will start using my new address without realising it. But I can't find a simple way to do this.
In Mac Mail preferences > accounts > Google IMAP (my old account name) > Account information > Outgoing Mail server (SMTP) I'd like to set my iCloud SMTP server. But although my iCloud account uses its own outgoing mail server for its own account , it is not in the server list when I select my google account. I've tried to add it to the server list as smtp.mail.me.com but it caused my whole iCloud account to give me error messages until I force quit Mail...
Any ideas?

In iCloud/Mail, have you tried going to Preferences (select with gear at lower left)/Composing and setting a Send from address there?

Hi, newbie to Mountain Lion Server here.
I've set up mail for domain a.com and a virtual domain b.com
User a receives mail just fine at [email protected] and [email protected], now I wanted to receive mail for [email protected] as an alias, which I understood after reading the posts here is done by going to 'advanced options' of user a and setting b in the alias field.
But sending a mail to [email protected] bounces with a "550 5.1.1 <[email protected]>: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual alias table".
However sending a mail to [email protected] does work, so I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong.

Hi, it's a late response, I know, but I had same problem just now and in my searching for an answer I found your question. ...better yet, I also found the answer - simply make a user alias including the virtual domain, like for instance if you want alias c to receive mails from both a.com and b.com, you should make two aliases:
c, [email protected]
where the first alias defaults to a.com as the default domain and the second explicitly specified the virtual domain.

Can't set up an IMAP account on a Cyrus server

I have a Cyrus IMAP server running in my office. I had no problem setting up an account on my XP/Outlook 2007 computer. I cannot get Mail to set up this same account. I'm running Leopard. I can telnet to the Cyrus server from Terminal, so the network isn't the problem.
When Setting up the account, it gets to the point of checking the connection, after I put in my email address, user id and password. I get the spinner, and then nothing. No errors, nothing in the logs.

Unfortunately, no. It can only be enabled on the device itself, not remotely.

I have few processes, which starts taking CPU on solaris machine, I want to set the Hard limit for time for
this process, how can I do that ?
I tried doing this with "ulimit -H 10" command but it gives me below error
"/usr/bin/ulimit[8]: ulimit: exceeds allowable limit"
this happens on both csh & ksh
Please let me know if I am doing this correctly or not ?
You may also suggest me a better way of setting a cputime limit for a processes.
I have a telnet & a netscape 4.78 process which is taking huge CPU intermittently.
Any kind of suggestions or ideas are welcome

A telnet process should almost never take up huge amounts of CPU. The only cases I've ever seen telnet do this is when something happens to its child processes (usually a login shell) and telnet doesn't handle it correctly. A similar theme with Netscape, Netscape should never chew up huge amounts of CPUs unless something is wrong with it - something wrong with Netscape ? NNNaaaahhhhhhhhhh ;>
In either case, you should see what the parent process it of each process is. In Netscape's case, if it parent process is init (PID 1), kill it without question. That should NEVER happen. You didn't say if the problem telnet was the client or server process, so I'll assume server. IBID on if in.telnetd parent process is init (PID 1). That should never happen.
In the June 2003 issue of Sys Admin magazine there is an article called "Solaris Resource Management - The Fair Share Scheduler" by Peter Baer Galvin. I think you should be able to view the article online once the next issue of the Sys Admin is out. Also take a look at the prctl man page. I haven't used this command much but something interesting shows up when executing "prctl $$":
