Can I share calendars on a mac running 10.6 with a mac running 10.4?

I'm using DropBox.
I'm guessing the files for iCal on 10.6 are not the same (ant not compatible) as/with the files used on iCal in 10.4
correct?

swanker,
Correct.

  • Can I share calendars on a work and personal device, with different iCloud user names?

I'm relatively new to my work iPhone, and very new to my iPad.  I've been entering events in the iCloud calendar, which is linked to the iPad under a personal Apple id and password.
My work iPhone, which (currently) has a different Apple id and password, set up when work provided it, syncs with Outlook on my work laptop using an App called Mobile Iron.  I have very little control or knowledge of this, although it works just fine.
It woiuld be useful to have any events I set up dumped into the same calendar, viewable both on my personal iPad and my work iPhone, but I dare not do anything to interfere with what my company IT has set up.  Any recommednded strategies?

You can try sharing your iCloud calendar with yourself as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm6b1a8694.  If you work phone has an iCloud account, you can privately share your calendar with it, giving your read and write access.  If it doesn't, you can publically share it, giving you read-only access.  This should give you the ability to view the shared calendar alongside your work calendar without merging the two.

  • Can I Share Calendar without Exchange Account? in outlook 2013 (Professional Ed.)

    Hello,
I would like to share my calendar with one of my office colleague, we are not using Microsoft Exchange Server, we are on Google business Apps Account.
My Share Calendar option is Grayed out (Plz. refer to attached image).
I will appreciate if some may inform the possibility to enable Share Calendar option ?
    Thanks & regards
    Ali

    Hi,
The Share Calendar option is only available for Exchange account. If you want to share calendar for a non-Exchange account, you'll need to publish it online. See:
    https://support.office.com/en-ie/article/Share-an-Outlook-calendar-with-other-people-cafb9303-1b1e-40d3-839d-b6abac03a5e8
Since you are using Google Apps Account, you can try using Google Apps Sync for Microsoft Outlook. With this,
you can easily share calendars with other Google Apps users, both within your organization and publicly. People can view your calendar either in Outlook or from their Google Calendar account in a web browser. See:

It's recommended to download and install
Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT), which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Once the tool is installed, you can run it at any time to scan for hundreds of known issues in Office

  • Can I merge calendar on my mac with a calendar on iCloud?

    Hi
I have a claendar that shows on the dropdown list as the default calendar ON MY MAC.  It syncs with my microsoft outlook calendar at work so I can see all my work calendar items on my home mac.
The drop down list also shows iCloud as having a separate calendar.  When I untick the ON MY MAC calendar all my appointments disappear. I'd like to merge these calendars together so that I can also see the work appointments etc on my iPhone.  Does anyone know if this is possible, and if so how I can do it?
    Thanks very much
    Andy

The issue I have is that I cant export the calendar ON MY MAC to the iCloud calendar as it is the one that is updated from Outlook and so needs to become the icould calendar too if thats possible?

  • Can I share file between my Mac G4 and My new MacBook Pro

How can I share programs from my power mac G4 to my new MacBook Pro?

    Hi stefanfan,
    Welcome to the forum.
There are a number of ways, all of which require that you have File Sharing enabled in both Macs. File Sharing is enabled via the Sharing Preferences within System Preferences. When both Macs are networked all you have to do is open up a Finder window (just double click on your hd icon) and click on the Network icon located on the sidebar on the left of the window. The other Mac should appear, click connect and you're in.
If you have broadband and are connected via a router, does your router have more than one port? If it does, simply connect the other Mac to the port with an ethernet cable.
If you have a router with wireless capabilities (and both Macs have Airport cards installed) then you can share files wirelessly, again by enabling File Sharing.
If you do not have a router, you can connect both Macs together with a network (ethernet) cable and, once again, they will be able to see each other and you can open/transfer files from one to the other.

  • How can I share wifi through my mac using WEP but not WAP?

I wanna share wifi using my mac book pro but so that I can use my ndsl. However it only accept WEP but not WAP. How can I change my sharing?

    Hello stoneohyea
Check out the articles below. You should not select WEP as it is a protocol that is not recommended for wireless connection because of reliability and security.

  • Can't sync calendars on two Macs since iOS4

I just upgraded my Touch (2G) to iOS4, and things are basically okay except for Calendar Syncing.
I've got a home computer as my source for all media plus Contacts and Calendar. I've got a work Mac that I just sync Contacts and Calendars. I'm using manual syncing. This has been working fine, until today. Now, my home computer will not update to include the work computer stuff, and in fact, it lost the work events it had on it previously. I've synched between the two machines multiple times, but it doesn't "take" on the home computer. In fact, it appears that syncing with the home computer takes the work events OFF of the Touch until I resync with work.
And yes, I choose "Merge Data" for all syncs.
Both computers have the same calendars.

I am seeing the same issues. I have a G5 Power Mac and MacBook Pro and a iPod touch that I am syncing between the two computers. I have not tried doing this before IOS 4.0 as I just got the iTouch.
Anyone know if it is possible to sync a calendar between one Mac and the iPod Touch and then have the iPod Touch sync the calendar on the second Mac. I did this between these two Macs using my Palm Centro (using palm desk top on each Mac) AND a Dell PC at work. All three computers had the same calendar info and making a change on the Palm would change the data on all three computers.

  • Can you share/lend books that have bought from iBook with others users?

Can you share/lend books that have you have bought from iBook with other iPad users?

At this time, unless I've missed something recently, you cannot. You can load an iBook onto multiple iPads if these are all owned by your household though (you can't give an iBook to a friend, for instance, or a relative that lives elsewhere).
If the ability to lend books is important to you, you may wish to purchase Kindle books from Amazon, though you'll want to confirm that the book has lending enabled - not all do - and that the Kindle app for iOS supports lending.
This is one of the several advantages of physical books; the ability to loan them out or give them to someone else. Whether the book publishers will ever allow similar unfettered handling of electronic books is unknown, though I'd guess they'll be dragged to it kicking and screaming.

    Hello AnnRcpa
Set up Home Sharing to get your media across multiple devices. You can play them back when on the same network at home. Check out the articles below to sort you out with that setup process.

  • How can i share  movies i purchased on my i touch with my sons itouch

how can i share movies i purchased on my itouch with my sons itouch?

You should always transfer anything purchased on your ipod to your computer ( and included it in your regular backup of your computer).
You can sync the movie from your computer to the other ipod as you would sync anything else.

  • HT202297 How can I sync calendar on my mac book with iPhone and iPad mini?

How can I sync all calendars, like mac book, iPhone, and iPad ?

Set up the same iCloud account on all of your devices, then turn calendar syncing to On.  This article explains how to set up iCloud on your iOS devices and your Mac: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/.  You will have to be running OS X Lion (10.7.2) or higher on your Mac and iOS 5 or higher on your iOS devices in order to do this.

  • Can I share user account between mac and PC

Hi, I would like some help. I have a mac mini and will add osx server on to it soon. Now I also have two Windows PC's and would like to connect everything. I would like to use the mac as my main working device (and as a server) I would then like to be able to logon to my mac account on the PC's. So share user account from the mac onto the PC's?
Is this possible? If so is there a very details tutorial somewhere I can't seem to find one.
P.S NOT just file sharing. I don't want the user account or fils to be on the PC's.
    Regards
    Aled

Windows prefers to authenticate with Microsoft Active Directory.   This configuration is possible, but probably not in the price or complexity range that you might want.   Not unless you're inclined to run both OS X Server and Open Directory and Windows Server with Active Directory (or the Active Directory compatibility available with Samnba installed on a Linux server), which won't be a small investment or a small effort.
If you want to research this, look for information on the so-called "magic triangle" or "golden triangle" configuration.   I'm not aware of a short tutorial for this, as neither AD nor OD tend to be particularly small projects to configure and deploy.
Probably closer to your budget, a password manager or the keychain in OS X can store the access credentials.

  • How can I sync calendars between my mac, iphone and android phone

I use an iPhone as my primary phone, but do travel alot and need to have a secondary phone with a local SIM card when I travel. For this reason, I am considering buying an android phone. One of my major concerns though, is how would I be able to (if possible at all) sync calendars and contacts between all the devices. Today with iCloud I can get the iCloud syncing between my iMac, Macbook Pro, iPad and iPhone. When I introduce an android device, I am going to have to bring in Google calendars as well, so how do I get my iCal calendars to automatically sync to google calendars without having to creat duplicate calendars or without having to basically migrate to using only google calendars? Same goes for the contacts?

On your Mac and iPad, turn off iMessage.
