Can i still receive iMessage in  my ipad after switching my iphone to Galaxy s4?

I have had an iphone for the past 3 years but my company is changing my iphone to Galaxy s4. I have a lot of friends using iphone so i use imessaging a lot and i know i cannot receive imessage in my galaxy s4. I will still have my old ipad using my apple id so i would like to know if i can still receive my iMessages in my ipad. thanks for any help in advance.

Interestign... not sure if the phone # will somehow evaporate off your iPad once you cutover.
No matter what though, your friends could always iMessage you at your AppleID instead of with your phone # and that would still work as long as you enabled the ID on your iPad.

  • How can I receive messages on my ipad after switching my phone to android

I used to have all Apple products but decided to switch it up this time when I upgraded my phone.  My hubby is still on all Apple.  When I try to message him from my ipad/imessage, he will receive is on his iphone, but it will no longer let him reply.  Any ideas if there is something that I need to change?   I took my phone number out of iMessage on my iPad so that I can receive texts on my phone.... but sometimes it is more convenient for me to use my ipad... it also makes me wonder if any other friends who have iphone might text and I will never get it.....

You can text with anybody using your Android phone no matter what type of phone the other person is using. The phones will be using standard SMS text messaging. You cannot use your iPad to text with Android devices, Messages on the iPad only works with other Apple iOS devices.
If your friends are trying to message you from their iPhones to your iPad, they have to send the text to your Apple ID email address and you have to set up messages to use your Apple ID instead of the iPhone number. Your Apple ID should already be accessible in the settings since you have to set up Messages with your Apple ID in the first place.
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive at>You can be reached by iMessages at>Your Apple ID email address. Select the Apple ID in there.

  • I'm receiving iMessages on my ipad but not my iPhone 4S.

I've had my iPhone and iPad for well over a year now and never any problems. All of a sudden I've stopped receiving iMessages on my iPhone but I am receiving them on my ipad - slightly annoying as I don't tend to carry my iPad around!
    Has anyone got any ideas?

Go to settings and message and see what is showing in there.
If it all looks OK then click on send & receive then the Apple ID and sign out. Then sign in again with your Apple ID and password and see if this solves it.
If it says waiting for activation or anything else, go to settings > phone and make sure the telephone number in there is correct.

  • Delays in receiving imessages and text messages after iOS7 update - iphone 4s

Sending messages is never a problem (unlike a lot of issues I've read) only receiving, and the sender of the message is always notified it was sent successfully - even though i receive the sent message minutes to days after.
Sometimes the messages are only received if:
    1) I tap the messages icon
    2) the screen freezes for 10-30 seconds
    3) I get a rush of new message notifications that say "2d ago" or "35 min ago"
Any one else having the above problem? - Not happy at all with iOS7 performance on my 4S so far.

its giving you a choose on device sign in with apple id or create apple id.  sounds like you are selecting create.  do this
    Hard Reset
Press and hold BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
now choose sign in with apple id not create.

  • How can i receive IMessages on my IPad?

I have IOS5, and IMessages turned on on my IPAD.  What do I need to do to receive IMessages on my IPad sent to my Apple ID.  Right now it is just going to my email address.  I dont see an option in Settings/Messages to be received in IMessages. I see ads showing people chatting on their ipads with IMessage and cant seem to get it to work.
Also, when I try to send a message, even when I type in text, the Send button stays grayed out.  Does the receiver need to be on IOS5 also?
    Thanks!

Yes. Anyone you are trying to use iMessage with has to be running iOS5.  This is due to iMessage being only available in that OS.  You can, however, still use some 3rd party apps to send regular SMS messages from your iPad.  This is especially easy if you simply have a SKYPE account and download that app.  The only downside, however, is that there is a charge for messages sent to non-skype accounts

  • Why don't I receive iMessages on my iPad when sent to my iPhone?  When I send messages from my iPad, they show up on my iPhone, but doesn't hold true the opposite way?

Why don't I receive iMessages on my iPad when sent to my iPhone?  When I send messages from my iPad, they show up on my iPhone, but doesn't hold true the opposite way?

Ok. So I figured out that I can add the email address to my iPhone 4s to receive the iMessages sent/received from my iPad. How do I get the messages on my iPad that were sent to my iPhone?  Is it possible?

  • If I travel outside the US with an unlocked iphone and use a local SIM will I still receive iMessages sent to my US number when wifi is activated?

If I travel outside the US with an unlocked iphone and use a local SIM will I still receive iMessages sent to my US number when wifi is activated?

Ok, one of my problems is that when I arrive it will take me a few weeks to get a social security number and only t-mobile will give me a sim without a ssn - but edge for a few weeks will be better than no iPhone.
Unless someone out there can suggest an alternative?

How can I completely remove iMessage from a iPad (generation 2)?  I know how to turn off iMessage on the iPad but I don't want this iPad to know my iPhone number at all.  Thanks.

You can't. Default Apple Apps cannot be removed. If you sign out of your Apple Id in Settings->Messages->Send & Receive->Apple ID then the iPad will have no knowledge of your Phone number.

  • Can I still receive responses after June 22?

I have existing surveys that will still be collecting data after AdobeForms reduces functionality in late June. Can I still receive responses until the final retirement date?

It is now common knowledge that iWeb, and iDVD, has been discontinued by Apple. This is evidenced by the fact that new Macs are shipping with iLife 11 installed but without iWeb and iDVD.
On June 30, 2012 MobileMe will be shutdown. However, iWeb will still continue to work but without the following:
Features No Longer Available Once MobileMe is Discontinued:
    ◼ Password protection
    ◼ Blog and photo comments
    ◼ Blog search
    ◼ Hit counter
    ◼ MobileMe Gallery
All of these features can be replaced with 3rd party options.
I found that if I published my site to a folder on my hard drive and then uploaded with a 3rd party FTP client subscriptions to slideshows and the RSS feed were broken.  If I published directly from iWeb to the FPT server those two features continued to work correctly.
There's another problem and that's with iWeb's popup slideshows.  Once the MMe servers are no longer online the popup slideshow buttons will not display their images.
However, Roddy McKay and I have figured out a way to modify existing sites with those slideshows and iWeb itself so that those images will display as expected once MobileMe servers are gone.  How to is described in this tutorial: #26 - How to Modify iWeb So Popup Slideshows Will Work After MobileMe is Discontinued.
It now appears that the iLife suite of applications offered on disc is now a discontinued product and the remaining supported iApps will only be available thru the App Store from now on. However, the iLife 11 boxed version that is still available at the online Apple Store (Store button at the top of the page) and those still on the shelves of retailers will include iWeb and iDVD. Those two apps were listed in small, gray text on the iLife 11 box that I bought.
Personally, if I didn't already have a copy I would purchase one to have it for reinstallation purposes if ever needed.
