  • Can not transfer Movies or TV Shows from iTunes to Apple TV any more

    Hi,
I've been having syncing problems lately, but this latest one I can't solve. My iMac is running 10.6.3 with iTunes 9.1.1 (11). When I sync between the Mac and the Apple TV, everything (music, photos, podcasts, playlists) gets copied except movies and TV shows I've purchased through iTunes.
I've tried automatic sync, custom sync with the movies and TV shows selected. I've tried 'Transfer Purchases', but all I ever get is the "Syncing Apple TV" message with the 'busy' bar, and no actual progress.
Can anyone suggest anything else I can try? I've been through the solutions in this forum already, and nothing has worked

the current version is 9.1.1 (12). get the installer from here http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and run it over your existing installation.

  • I want to transfer movies I have downloaded from iTunes from my iPhone 5 to a flash drive to be able to use when I have no wifi on my iPad,when power is out etc ?

If you have iTunes 11 on your computer then you can enable the left-hand sidebar on it via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC - when connected (and if your computer's iTunes is up-to-date) your iPad should then appear on that sidebar under a 'Devices' heading :
If you select the iPad on that sidebar you can then use the Movies tab on the right-hand side of the iTunes screen to select and sync that film to your iPad's Videos app.
Has your iPad been synced to the computer before ? If not then you might find this page for syncing to a new computer useful : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141

  • The airplay icon has disappeared from my desk top. It was there two weeks ago, so I can't watch movies I've downloaded from iTunes and flick them over to my TV.

The airplay icon has disappeared from my MAC desktop. It was there two weeks ago when I successfully used it to 'flick a movie i had purchased from iTunes over to my tv. Also, if I rent the movie through iTunes, why (because of the above issue) when I go to 'Purchased' it doesn't display as an option when actually using Apple TV, it doesn't display but when I go to rent it again a message comes up saying "you have already rented this movie, do you want to rent it again"? Frustrated!!

Ok Fellas, let me give you a clue:  Games, particularly those that make heavy use of graphics and sound are notoriously power hungry.  In fact, when I was in the Navy many years ago, the folks working on the NTDS (Navy Tactical Data System)  computers used a version of Space Invaders to load test the AN/UYK-43 computers.
I have also noticed that all of my laptops (I have a brand new Toshiba dual core, an older Toshiba single core, plus 2 Dell dual core machines) have significantly shorter battery life when I play Company of Heroes than when I am just reading e-mail or surfing the 'Net.  I have also noticed the same behavior when I play games on my 4th gen Touch and my iPhone 4.
The fact is, iOS 5 did make some major improvements as well as adding some nice functionality like iMessage, wireless synch, and such, but the down side is that depending on how you use the device battery life can be shorter that what you may have experienced with pervious versions of iOS.  Its just the nature of the beast...

  • How can I remove my old apple id from iTunes and put the new one in?

Morning all, how can I remove my old apple Id from my I tunes account and replace it with the new apple ID, ?
    Many thanks
    Kimber. Lee

Sign out of iTunes and sign in with the new ID. On your computer, under on of the iTunes menus, on your iPad Settings > iTunes and App Stores and tap on the Apple ID.
Note that all apps downloaded under the previous ID are locked to that ID, and you will have to sign back onto it for any updates.

  • How can I transfer multiple songs at once from itunes to device

I was wondering how you can transfer multiple songs or files from itunes to a device, such as an ipod, at once. The past itunes let you do it and I've been trying the same methds that you use on the older versions but nothing is working. Anyone know how to do it?

If syncing, select the content desired to be synced and then sync.
If manually managing content select the content then drag and drop it. Multiple items can be selected by holding the Cntro key and clicking on multiple items.

  • Can I add movie to Apple TV without itunes or store

I would like a movie to reside on my apple tv but i dont want it on my computer. It is not available to download from Itunes. Is there a way to put it on the atv without having to sync. I have tried to add it to my itunes library, sync it through the movies tab, delete the movie after it has synched, then stopped it before it could sync again telling it to delete it. Eventually it syncs without my help and deletes the movie. Any ideas?

AppleTV is nit designed to work like that.

    No.

Syncing implies that the AppleTV is in sync with iTunes, if you remove it from iTunes it assumes you don't want it on AppleTV either.
    Two workarounds:
1 - Assuming you have a copy of the video backed up somewhere, once you've added it to iTunes and synced to AppleTV, right click on it's entry in iTunes to locate the actual file in iTunes library. Next, manually delete the file from it's location but don't delete the entry in iTunes. iTunes will not delete the file at the next sync - it just can't find it. Ensure your sync settings are such that this movie won't automatically delete when AppleTV fills up or after it's watched if you have a near full AppleTV.
2 - Store the file on an external USB drive. Change iTunes Preferences so it doesn't copy the file on import to it's library. Add the file to iTunes - it will just store a reference to the file, sync to AppleTV. Eject external drive.
Net sync the movie stays on AppleTV because there's still an iTunes entry for it - the file just isn't available at this point.

  • HT1473 How can I transfer my music (not purchased from Itunes) from my Ipad/Iphone to my new Itunes library on a Macbook Pro?

I've recently bought a new Macbook Pro and in my Itunes Library everything I have purchased from Itunes is in my new Itunes Library.
However I want to transfer all my music (not purchased from itunes) from my Ipad/Iphone to my new Itunes Library.... and I have absoutely no idea how to do this? Also I'm scared to press sync when my ipad is plugged into my Mac incase will loose all this music!
    Help Please!

The iphone/ipad/ipod is not a backup/storage device.  The sync is one way - computer to iphone/ipad/ipod.
Copy everything from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer.

  • Can't drag movies into my nano from itunes

I have a Nano 5th gen and when i connect it to itunes and try to sync movies i get a message saying that the movie can not be played on my ipod. can anybody help?

    Hello RP 24,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
Were these videos purchased from the iTunes store or imported from your own collection?
If they were imported to your iTunes library, trying using iTunes built in converter to convert the iPod to a more iPod friendly format. To do this, locate the video you wish to sync to your iPod, right->click on it and choose "create iPod or iPhone version" from the shortcut menu (or via the Advanced drop down menu). When it has finished converting, try syncing the new version to your iPod and see if that helps.
    Hope this helps.

  • Play Movies via Apple TV from iTunes on a PC

I have a PC with itunes and I'm looking to start building my movie library. However, I wanted to first check to see if I could use Apple TV to play the movies from my PC to my tv or if it will only work from a something running iOS.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Being able to play content from your iTunes library on your computer is one of the main features of the Apple TV.

  • Can't add content to Apple TV from iTunes

I just got an Apple TV, and although I can stream or share content from my iTunes library on my iMac.... I can't load content onto the Apple TV itself. My Apple TV shows up in the device list in iTunes, but I only have two tabs showing.... Summary & Photo's.
All software is update, on both the iMac and Apple TV.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

'Settings/computers/connect to itunes....' (and not shared library).
You need to set up for syncing, not streaming. See This

  • Can't locate movie purchase after downloading from itunes

I just went to my purchases on itunes to re-download a movie I purchased a couple years ago. It downloaded and then I went to watch it and it played the next movie in my itunes. There is a description for the movie in my itunes but the poster art is gone and it says it can't locate. What do I do? I bought but can't watch it!

I can't find a movie I downloaded and iTunes wants me to purchase it again.

  • Can't see movie on Apple TV, but iTunes does - why?

I have MANY movies on iTunes, and with a couple of exceptions, am able to view them all on TV via Apple TV. The exceptions are movies that look great on my mac, but do not show up on the movie list via the Apple TV. I have deleted them and moved them to the trash and then rebuilt them and I have done a logical but not physical delete and re-added them to the library - all to no avail. They refuse to show up. One of them is a middle disc of a set of disks, the rest of which worked just fine. Suggestions?

Where are you, movies are currently only available for purchase in the US.
