I have an I Pod Mini and now also a shuffle. I would like to transfer the songs from the mini to the shuffle on ITunes but it doesn't work. Does anyone know how I can do that ? Thanks

You can't transfer directly from one iPod to another. If you have songs on the Mini that aren't in iTunes you need to copy them back and update the shuffle from there. There is more than one way, but to get it all on all devices, connect the first device to iTunes and choose to transfer the music from the device from the file menu. Once everything is in iTunes connect the second device, select the device in the device list, navigate to the music tab and check the content you wish to sync, click apply/sync.

The music that is on the one iPod must be stored in an iTunes library first before it can be synced/added to the other one. You cannot transfer content directly from one iDevice to another.

No it isn't possible to transfer music from one iPod directly to another. The music needs to be in an iTunes library in order to transfer it to an iPod.
You said the songs came from two different computers and they have different libraries. Then you said +"None of the songs i want to transfer are in the computer's library."+ which seems to contradict what you said originally.

iPods are not backups or data transfer tools.
Move the music from the computer where it exists to the computer where you want it.
Then sync the music to the iPod.

Have both computers running and have iTunes open on both computers.
Now, in the iTunes on the computer you want to transfer music to, select the library that you want to transfer music from, as per the following screenshot:
Once the other library loads, go down to the bottom of the screen and in "Show:" select "Items not in my library":
If you want to import all of the songs you can now see, head up to the iTunes menu bar and go "Edit > Select all". Then head down to the bottom of the screen again and click the "Import" button in the bottom-right-hand corner.
If there's a lot of stuff in the library you're transferring from, the transfer may take some time.
