Can I Turn a Video 90º?

I shot a video holding my iTouch 4th gen vertically. When I e-mailed it, it appears 90º (sideways). The video is fairly important, so I'd like to know if there's any way to rotate it back such that it views normally when e-mailed. Photos are easy to do that, of course, but how can I rotate my video? Thanks for any help!

Same problem but I found a fix after playing around with this.
When using FRONT camera for pictures/video turn iPod to the RIGHT and shoot picture/video and if you email it to somebody who views on a computer or post it somewhere it will turn out correct and not be sideways.
If you are shooting video or taking pictures with the REAR camera, turn iPod to the LEFT and take video/picture. It will now turn out correctly if you email it to somebody and they view on a computer.
All pictures/videos shot with either camera holding amy way will turn out looking correct if you ONLY view it on your device but will be sideways unless you follow directions above.
Let me know if this works for you....it should.

Can I turn greenscreen video into video with transparent background to  overlay on another video in another program.  probably export as avi.     I know I can in after effects  but comfortable with premiere.   basically want to turn the greenscreen from a black to transparent background  ppro cs6     windows

Harm is correct. It would be better to edit in the program where you keyed out the green. However, if you really must ...
DPX is one file per frame. While you may not be able to open it from Windows, it is only because Windwos has not been told to open them in Photoshop.
The whole point of the DPX file is to have a visually lossless storage of your frames that is designed to be used between applications (just what you want to do): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Picture_Exchange
However, if you prefer to use another option that you are more comfortable with, you can use PNG.
    Or...
If you insist on a single video, use the Animation codec for Quicktime.
In any case, you need a picture format or video CODEC that can store an Alpha Channel.
    Or.....
Export the video with the black and use a Luma key in the next application.
    Or ...
Export the video with the black, and then export a video of just the alpha channel as a blabk and white image where black is transparent when used as a track matte, and then in the next application use the video of the alpha channel as a track matte.
Since you haven't said what the other application is or why you want to use it, we are having a little trouble offering a specific solution.

Yes, any frame of the video can be saved as a still image.

  • Can't turn off video preview.

I like to view my folders and files in the "column" style. Back on Snow Leopard, in Finder when I would click on a video file, the preview column would appear. Originally, when it would appear, it would begin to load a preview of whatever video I'd clicked, and I found when it did this it would stall/freeze my computer for a few seconds, which I found annoying. Luckily you could click on the arrow next to "Preview" and it would hide the preview video and stop it from loading, therefore stopping the freezes.
However, now that I've moved to Mountain Lion, I can no longer hide that preview, so every time I click on a video in Finder, it starts up a preview and everything freezes, and there's no little arrow so I can't hide it.
I did find the option to completely hide the preview column, but I don't want to do that because there's a lot of information about files in the preview column (name, size, modified etc.). So, is there any way I can just turn off the video preview like I could before?
    Thanks!

  • How can I turn captured video into a DVD

I am a premiere newbie. Can anyone tell me the basic steps to take captured video (already can do..) and turn it into a DVD which can be read on a regular TV-DVD player.? Even a few basic starter steps to send me down the right road would be helpful and VERY appreciated. I can capture to Premiere (Pro CS4), but then what? Thank you!!

OK, you've got your material Captured from your camera. It should appear in your Project Panel. At this point, your Timeline will be empty. This is where the editing comes in. I'll keep it simple, as there are a couple of ways to do this.
1.) from the Project Panel, drag each Video Clip to the Timeline's Video Track 1. The accompanying Audio wll come in with it, and should go to Audio Track 1, below that little "beltline," that separates your Video (above) and Audio (below).
2.) you can alter the Duration of your Clip by click-dragging on the Head, to shorten it there, or from the Tail, to shorten it there. If you have material that you wish to remove from anywhere but the Head or Tail, look in the Toolbox, usually to the lower-right, but it can be moved. There is a Razor icon. Place the CTI (Current Time Indicator - that little triangle with a red line, that moves when you hit the Spacebar) where you wish to Cut with the Razor. Click with the Razor selected and both Video and Audio will be sliced. Move to where you wish this extra footage to end, and do the same thing. Rt-click on this new "Clip" and Choose Ripple Delete. This will remove that segment and close up the other parts of the Clip. Repeat for all of the rest of your media Assets.
3.) add any Transitions, music, etc.
4.) when done, you will Export this to Adobe Encore for DVD authoring. There are several ways to do this, but Adobe Dynamic Link is probably the easiest way.
5.) in Encore (if you use DL all selected Timelines will come into that program w/ Audio and Video), you create your navigation with Menus (Encore has a full Library of these).
    6.) Check Project
7.) when done, chose File>Burn to DVD.
Note: use good media, like Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden and burn at the slowest possible speed.
    Done and good luck,
    Hunt
PS remember that there are many ways to do the steps above. The manual and the Help files will go into a lot more detail, and you might find that you like another way better. Read, and then experiment.

  • Still can't turn OFF video camera

    Help!
I have a Kindle Fire HD. I installed Skype from the app store (only one I saw in the app store) and it works the first few minutes of the call after the install but then cuts out the video (voices can still be heard on the call). I have to uninstall it and reinstall it to get the video back but then it happens all over again.
I don't know what versions of the kindle or skype I have on it. If some one can walk me though figuring it out I can add it. What the heck to do with this??????? It in not workable this way but I would love to have it working.
    Thanks

No one is frocing you to have a video call or activate your camera during a call.
Just not use the "Video call" button, but the normal call button instead both for starting and accepting Skype calls. If you have enabled your video you can turn it off at any time by clicking the webcam button on the call screen.

  • How can I turn a Video TS folder into a video DVD?

My superdrive can burn a dual-layer DVD, and I understand iDVD can handle it.
(My Video TS folder is too large to fit on an ordinary DVD.)
But I can't figure out how to burn the Video TS onto the DVD +R DL so that I end up with a DVD that can be played in a DVD player, on TV.
I don't find any info in Help or in the forums, using relevant key words.
I have an older version of Toast that can handle dual layer, but got drive errors when trying to do it with Toast.
Any hints, advice or direction to any written help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

I only have a Video TS folder, no DVD. If it is possible for Video TS folders to be copy protected, then it's possible that could be the problem. Is there an easy way to find out? No error message referenced any protections.
I can play the Video TS folder with DVD Player on the Mac, but I suppose that would be possible whether or not the folder is copy protected.
I'm cleaning up a drive I "inherited," so I could live without this "virtual DVD" if it can't be transferred to a physical DVD disk. But it would be nice to know what's going wrong.
Do you understand the error messages, and do you think it means the folder is copy protected?
    ========
Wait a sec... I suppose one solution would be to copy the folder onto a dual layer data DVD (the folder is 6.3 gigs), and then it could still be played on the computer using DVD Player, it just couldn't be played in a normal DVD player for watching on TV (right?). That would clear up the space on the drive.
But alas, even that didn't work. I tried using the Finder to burn a copy of the folder to a dual layer DVD (as just a data DVD) and got this error: "Burning the disc failed because an unexpected error occurred. (Error code 0x8002006E)"
This makes me think there's something going on besides possible copy protection... I AM able to make a copy of the folder right on the same hard drive (just tested it), so if some kind of copy protection existed, surely it would have prevented that. Since I'm able to copy it to the same drive, but not to a dual layer DVD, it must be a problem not of copy protection but somehow related to using the DVD +R DL (which my computer says my superdrive can handle). Think?

  • How can I turn my video into a still photo to be copied for a book?

I accidentally took a 2 second video with my iPhone.  I just wanted a still photo.  I want to put the photo in a photo book.  I know I can shorten, or trim, the viedo.  But can I stop it entirely so it becomes a photo that I can print?  How do I do that?

    There's an App for that....
Go to the Apps store and search for Megaphone. There are a few Apps available that may or may not meet your needs. You will have to read the descriptions and reviews to decide - some of them are free.

  • Why can't I turn off video stabilisation on the iphone 5?

I'm sorry but this feature is absolute garbage. If I wanted to stablilise my video I'd do it myself, or hold my hand steadier. You basically can't film anything worthwhile without this crap ruining my video. As it's completely automatic, it basically doesn't work...like the auto focus on a camera. It's just terrible.
Apple have desperately tried to advertise the camera on the phone to be great, so great you can shoot your own video projects on it...but you can't, because of this **** auto stabilising nonsense. Some people might want to use it, like those with overly shaky hands, or those who don't mind their video digitally zoomed in, but I do not.
Please, give me the ability to turn it off so I can do a simple track of someone skating down the street.
    Thanks.
p.s. I also saw someone say "Why would you want to turn it off? That's like asking for a single core processor as opposed to the current one." No, this isn't the same thing. Idiot.
p.p.s Also, if I can turn this off and I'm just too ******** to find it, then fine, I apologise for my outburst.

Try plugging it into a computer with iTunes opened. If you see anything that says restore, say no.
Sometimes these issues resolve themselves when you connect the device to iTunes.
What happens when you hold the home and sleep/wake button? I know it doesn't work, but does it shut off at all?

  • I can not find the display preferences tab to turn on video mirroring. Any suggestions?

I'm trying to get my Macbook Pro to stream to a Samsung Smart TV.  I just came from the Apple Store and they told me I need to turn on Video Mirroring.  I went to System Preferences/ Display but can't find Display Preferences or the box to check for Video Mirroring. The only tabs are for Gather Windows and Detect Displays. It does detect the Samsung TV but how do I turn on the Video Mirroring? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I am using Lion (if that means anything.)

It is only my Ipad that is causing problems, my laptop does not suffer the same issues.
Does the problem happen only with specific sites? If so, what sites? Also, have you tried testing the iPad on a different network to see if the problem goes away? It is possible that you may have some kind of ad blocker or anti-virus software that is doing something to prevent the ads from appearing on the laptop, which would explain why you're seeing what is probably a network-related problem only on iOS.
Unless you have jailbroken your iPad, or have otherwise accepted the installation of an app from a website rather than the App Store, there's no known adware or malware capable of infecting it. If you have done one of those things, you should restore your iPad to factory defaults, and should not restore anything from a backup.

  • I accidently deleted a convo with a important video on it and its not backed up into itunes and i have ICloud turned off how can i get that video back?

I have deleted a conversation and it held a very important video,  I need to get that back i didnt download it into my photo album and i didnt back it up into my itunes and my ICloud is turned off because i had a problems with it. How can i get that video back?

No way to recover it unless the other person didn't delete it on their end but the Perfect time to activate iCloud Drive and you won't ever need to worry. If you set it up correctly.
