  • Should I uninstall previous versions of adobe software when I install a new version?

I have been using Creative Cloud for a couple of years now and have always wondered why I would need an older version of the software. Considering these unused versions of software are just sitting on my hard drive and taking up space.... can anyone think of any good reason why I shouldn't uninstall these old software versions of Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.?
    Thanks, Tom

It can depend on which versions these older versions are.  If they are Cloud versions then I wouldn't think twice about getting rid of the older ones.  But if they are from a Creative Suite you might find that they have functionality that the newer versions had stripped out of them  Flash, for instance, had a number of useful functional elements ripped out of it when they came out with the Cloud version.

  • Adobe XI trial has stopped my use of previous version of Acrobat reader now that trial is over

Now that my Trial period is over  of Adobe XI Pro, I cannot use my old Acrobat reader, nor open any of my .pdf files!!!!!!!!!!!
Need fix.  Reloading Acrobat reader does not seem to fix this issue.

You’ll need to uninstall all traces of Acrobat first, then load the Reader.

  • Do I need to keep three versions of LR and two of PS now that I'm in Creative Cloud?

I've used LR for years and like it a lot, so I joined Creative Cloud for LR and PS.   Somehow I now have three versions of LR and two of PS on my hard disk.  They appear to be complete programs, but with different file dates.  Do I need to keep all these versions?  They are confusingly labeled in Windows 7, for example.

Older versions are provided as some plug-ins may not work with the latest versions. However if this is not a concern and you don't mind CC desktop showing updates available to install, you could remove the older programs via the Windows control panel keeping only Photoshop CC 2014 and Lightroom CC 2015.

  • Downloading previous versions of adobe software

I recently purchased a new computer without a disk drive and have Adobe Acrobat Pro X on cd.  Is it possible to download the program and then put my licensing information in it.

It is possible but depends on the platform (PC vs Mac).  If you have a PC then you should be able to download the trial version from
    http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-acrobat-x-10-pro-reader-suite-direct-download-links-ddl.ht ml
and use your serial number from the dsk to activate it.  Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.

  • How can I reinstall a previous version of muse?

How can I reinstall a previous version of muse? I tried under Apps in Creative Cloud - previous versions- but there are no previous versions of muse showing up. What can I do? Ever since muse upgraded yesterday it crashes every time I try to publish, preview or save a site...
    Edward

    The last update is horrible:/
Muse crashes again and again and again. Not possible to work with this version!!!
Sorry, but we don't have time to try this or try that... The fact is, using version 2014.2 no problems. Suddenly it's impossible to work with.
Make a version 2014.2 available for download so that we can downgrade. I can't wait until the problems are solved, because we have to change some things very urgently.

  • Can I uninstall previous versions of Adobe Apps in my creative cloud and still use the current 2014 versions of the same apps.

I want to stream line the amount of applications on my MAC. I currently have the CS6, CC, and CC2014 version of the Adobe applications. Can I uninstall the CS6 and CC versions and still run the CC2014 version without any issues?

Jim Fournier yes you can uninstall the previous versions.  Please see Install and update apps - https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html for additional details.

  • How do I go to a previous version of Adobe before 11.0.07, I can't print

How do I go to a previous version of Adobe prior to 11.0.07.  Since installed I can't print .pdf.  I have Adobe XI 11.0.07 and Windows 7 - 64.

Don't know if you can. Two approaches can be tried: 1. Try to install a previous update or 2. deactivate, uninstall, run http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, remove the Acrobat folder, reboot and reinstall. However, it is worth try an repair first. Also, you say you can't print and that is not very helpful to the rest of use to possibly help

  • Can all the previous versions of adobe i have installed on my mac pro be causing my cc 2014 apps to crash ?

can all the previous versions of Adobe installed on my mac be causing it to crash my cc 2014 apps and if so how can i salty remove all  the previous versions of adbe

It is advisable to remove the earlier version removed or uninstalled as it might interfere the Adobe CC files.
Moreover the Adobe CC is the most upgraded version of all the creative suite line of product.
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6

  • I have just been told by Adobe that I have to UNINSTALL ALL PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF THEIR APPLICATIONS IN ORDER TO USE THE NEW 2014 VERSIONS.

I have just been told by Adobe that I have to UNINSTALL ALL PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF THEIR APPLICATIONS IN ORDER TO USE THE NEW 2014 VERSIONS. No software update is worth the time it will take to do that!!!!! I don't know about the rest of you but I am woefully disappointed in Adobe. I pay on time every single month SINCE CREATIVE CLOUD BECAME AVAILABLE and now they place this on me? NOT HAPPY.

    THE LATEST AND THE LAST:
Oh, and I'm on a MAC, not a PC so how could my database be corrupted?
Shruthi: The caps.db file is located in Library/Application Support/Adobe/caps folder
Shruthi: Can you try uninstalling from Adobe installers.
Susan Meredith: You folks don't understand. Most of us are very excited at the new "bells and whistles" that Adobe has introduced and in the past we've been able to QUICKLY update to the new version. We haven't had to uninstall anything to get the new. We are all working and have deadlines. This is A HARDSHIP ON ADOBE'S USERS AND THEY NEED TO FIX IT ON THAT END. Or give up some monthly fees.
Susan Meredith: There are many ways to uninstall. I can do it through "CleanMyMac". But now I don't trust that Adobe's programs will actually download and then I'm in trouble...and out of business.

I am trying to download the latest version of iTunes to my PC (windows XP) and I keep getting an error message or two. One is that it can't uninstall the previous itunes version, the other is that it can't find itunes.msi. I have tried removing  the old version in add/remove programs, but it says the same error. I tried deleting every thing that has itunes in the file/folder/etc and it didn't help.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Why didn't Adobe Acrobat XI Pro 11.0.05 uninstall the previous version

    Hello
I have 2 installations of Acrobat according to my program and features list.
i would really like to get back the 1.84GB that the older is using as I am running my C on a SATA SSD of only 128GB.
Can I uninstall the previous without destroying the newer?

There is supposed to be a question about removing a previous version. However, you should have just had an update, not a new version. Are you sure that a new and separate version was installed? Did you actually install a new version or do the updates? I would check the folders in the Program Files and see if there are multiple Acrobat XI folders.

  • How can I uninstall a long-ago expired Adobe XI (11.0.06) trial?  During the trial, Ver XI installed itself as my "default", which is still making it difficult for me to access the Adobe X (10.1.10) that I previously purchased.

How can I uninstall a long-ago expired Adobe XI (11.0.06) trial?  During the trial, Ver XI installed itself as my "default", which is still making it difficult for me to access the Adobe X (10.1.10) that I previously purchased.

Thanks for your help.  I cannot open the application (Acrobat XI) because I did not buy it.  Every time I want to open a .pdf, I have to remember to take the extra step of going to "open with" and then select "Acrobat X".  When I forget to do that, the XI "default" opens a window that gives me another chance to buy XI -- that's what I want to get rid of.  Another approach (perhaps?) would be to change to default setting from "Adobe XI" to Adobe X"  (the way it was before I tried the XI trial).  But I don't know how to do that.
