Can I upload all my email files from an I Mac (10.10.1) to I Cloud if 1) I am also running Time Machine and 2) using another Cloud back up service for

Mail in 10.10.1, Yosemite, I Mac late 2009 500 MG memory.
Does Time Machine access a kernel that tells the back up in the Cloud such as Carbonite that changes have been made which require it to back up the whole machine all over again (using an I Mac)?
Does Time Machine interfere with uploading Mail to the I Cloud?

No and no

    System files are hidden by default in Finder now, search for what you want then click the little + button on the top right of the bar that appears when you do a search. A new bar comes up and click the first box (that says "Kind"), change it to "System Files". Then change the box that says "aren't included" to "are included" and your file should show up.

  • If I secure my browser using CISecurity's baseline for Firefox, can I copy all the ".js" files from the hardened system to another?

    I own multiple systems. I have hardened one browser following the guideline provided by CISecurity. Instead of repeating all the configurations performed on that one system, can I just copy all the ".js" files from the secured system to my other systems?
    The ".js" files can be modified using a text editor. Is there a way to lock down these files to prevent modification?

    Dear Joel
    i know two ways to prevent browser from caching your files
    First : The Hard way
    just add ? +Math.random()  in the end of your file
    Like this :
    in HTML :
    <script type="text/javascript">
    (function(){
         var e = document.getElementsByTagName("script")[0];
         var d = document.createElement("script");
         d.src = "index_edgePreload.js?"+Math.random()+"";
         d.type = "application/javascript";
         d.async = true;
         d.defer = true;
         e.parentNode.insertBefore(d,e);
    </script>
    instead of this Line in HTML that created by EA :
    <script type="application/javascript" src="index_edgePreload.js></script>
    Disadvantage : you should do this for all of files you want to prevent from caching
    ===================================================
    Second : The easyest way
    You Should have Access to .htaccess file in your Server
    Open your .htaccess file and paste these codes in it :
    ExpiresActive On
    ExpiresByType application/json "access plus 1 seconds"
    ExpiresByType text/json "access plus 1 seconds"
    ExpiresByType text/plain "access plus 1 seconds"
    ExpiresDefault "access plus 1 month"
    you can type what ever type of file you want to prevent from caching in browser
    Advantage : after do this in your .htaccess file all files with the type you want will not Cache in your browser
    Easy is'nt it ?

  • How can i migrate my my emails  files from my PC to my new Macbook air

    How can i migrate or transfer my email files from my PC to my new MacBook Air?

    Here is an Apple knowledgebase article specific to your question. And here is a more general knowledgebase article about transfering data from one computer (including a PC) to a new Mac.
    Not to push you away from asking questions here, but did you know that if you go to Apple's main support page (there's a button to it at the top of this window) there's a text box where you can enter a question to find knowledgebase articles? That's generally the first place I go when I have a problem.

  • Can I use my external HD for Time Machine and still use it for storage?

    I have a 1TB external HD and my computer has yet to arrive. I was planning on backing it up via Time Machine and I'm wondering if my external HD will still be useable as a storage device once I pair it with Time Machine.
    There's no way the backup will take up the full 1TB of space, so I'm hoping it doesn't just go to waste >.<

    If you really only want backups of the current contents, don't use Time Machine.
    It's designed to keep copies of things you've changed or deleted for as long as possible. This allows you an excellent chance to recover a previous version of something you changed or deleted in error.
    It also allows you to revert your entire system to the exact state it was in at the time of any previous backup, even if that's a different version of OSX. It's rare, but if an OSX update, or installation of a kernel extension or 3rd-party app makes a huge mess, it's much easier and more reliable than rebuilding everything.
    You might want to review the [Time Machine Tutorial|http://www.apple.com/findouthow/mac/#timemachinebasics] and perhaps browse [Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions|http://web.me.com/pondini/Time_Machine/FAQ.html] (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum). See #1 there for size considerations.

  • What to do if you simultaneously run Time Machine and File Vault

    Never do what is mentioned in the subject line; even if you decrypt your drive, it does not spread to Time Machine, and so if you ever need to do a system restore, File Vault will forget your password and lock you out of your own system.
    Thankfully, I ended up having recourse. The solution is to log in as root and create a disk image from the last Time Machine backup, "latest," and then duplicate that disk image. Having done that, paste the files into the user folder of your choice, recreating the account you have lost.

    Realistically, your only option is to upgrade to an Intel-based Mac.
    There is no way to use iCloud on a Mac running anything lower than OS X 10.7.2 - not even Snow Leopard.
    You can access iCloud.com through a web browser on your current computer, but you'd need a Mac running 10.7.2 to move to iCloud and it wouldn't sync anyway...

  • HT201269 How can I backup all my email messages from my ipad2 to my mac. iTunes does not transfer all the sent / received mail.

    Hi,
    I damaged my ipad and saved a backup using iTunes while it was away for repair.
    I used another ipad while it was away, but none of my email messages sent or received had been saved.
    How do I backup my email ?

    hi, not totally, as when the N8 died, the shop here in France couldn't really do much to help and more like didn't want to do much to help, and transferred what data was available from the sim to the mini sim on the apple. Now looking in depth, Windows Contact is an 'orrible application that is not very easy to handle (Windows Address Book is no longer available for anything above Vista and is all tied into Windows Live and things to do with Hotmail and Messenger..... Gatesy is trying to dominate things again..... WOZ HELP!!)
    Sony have worked alongside Apple for a long time, so with a new 12/2012 Experia smartphone, the transfer details are a doddle, but now that Nokia has succombed to being part of the Dark Side (MS) and offering windows phones only, I can understand the retiscence of our late leader and his "heavenly crew" of having to deal with the Dark Side

  • I have a new Macbook Pro. All data from prior Mac was migrated to new Mac. If I run Time Machine and "inherit" the old backups will TM take up where I left off, or delete and overwrite the current data?

    I have a new Macbook Pro. All data from prior Mac was migrated to the new Mac. I want to continue Time Machine on the new Mac and retain the history. An option is to "inherit" the old Time Machine. I want to make sure this does not errase the current data, but creates a current backup.

  • Can I partition a 1tb hard drive and also run time machine on that hard drive

    I have a 1TB external hard drive which s currently running for Time machine only.
    I was hoping to be able to partition the EHD so that 500GB would be for the Time Machine side and the other 500GB would be used as an ecternal storage [ a friend of mine has just lent me a 250gb hard drive with a load of tv series which i want to be able to copy].
    Can anyone tell me if this is possible and if so how do i do it.
    I know that Time Machine is running now but I don't mind starting all over again.

    Yes it is possible, but it is generally not a good idea. That being said, if you decide to use the EHD for another purpose, partitioning it is the best solution. How big is your internal HD? It is recommended for a TM partition to be 2X as large as your internal drive, and it must be at least the size of your internal HD in order to be used.
    In order to partition:
    1) Connect the EHD
    2) Open Disk Utility and select the drive
    3) Click the "partition" tab and drag the original partition to its desired size.
    4) Click "Apply" to create the secondary partition.
    Resizing the TM partition will not erase it.

    Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.
