I have Dreamweaver CS4, and I need to get photoshop to use with it. Do I need to get Photoshop CS4 or would CS5 work OK?

Are you referring to 'smart objects' or just using photoshop as your image editing software?
If it is smart objects then yes PS CS5/5.5 will work with DW CS4. If it is just image editing then the PS version number is not important.

Well, it does depend a bit on whether he/she lives in a country where tuition might be zero, and the minimum monthly wage far lower than in the West. Perhaps CC is not even available in his/her country. Perhaps he/she has to take care of an entire family as well - and no money is left for anything as luxurious as a CC subscription.
We have no way of knowing his/her circumstances. They might be bad. If they are, I doubt Adobe will care she/he is using a cracked old version to learn the craft, and then go legit at a later time when she/he can afford it to produce professional work.
Honestly, I feel Adobe should just provide their tools for free for students. Autodesk does that. No reason why Adobe should not follow suit. Most students I know work with cracked versions anyway.

I'm now in the United States for a few months and want to buy Photoshop for my german laptop. When I come back to Germany I still want to use Photoshop. Will it work?

Yes, there have been many PS users (before the Creative Cloud), who had a different language on their machines. I do recall a few issues (long ago), where the keyboard language did cause a few issues, but mostly with keyboard shortcuts, etc..
I know one user, who has his OS language IT, but his entire Adobe Production Premium suite is in US English, as most tutorials show US English for the various programs.
I do not recall reading of the issues that PhotoRoy has mentioned, but perhaps there IS a concern.

I have a late '06, 24", 2.16ghz iMac with a video board that works unless it is over-tasked and heats up. Then the screen glitches and finally the computer freezes up or crashes. Is it possible to use it as a monitor for a mac mini or other computer?

Can I use the latest version of MAX with labview 6.0?

We have an old system running LabView 6.0 and MAX4.5 with NI-DAQmx 8.7 and
NI-VISA 4.4.
We had a hard disk problem which we fixed and now MAX 4.5 with NI-DAQmx 8.7
will no longer import the configdata.nce file.
The error message is:

You might want to double check your versions. 8.7.1 only supports back to LabVIEW 7.1 according to the chart in my link.

Lightroom on the other hand is not functioning in a trial version !
Could anyone tell me how I can start working with Photoshop CC while not in trial mode ?

Using the current version of photoshop CC with Mac OS 10.9 for the next 5 or so years on same mac?

I am intending to upgrade to photoshop CC from photoshop CS6, my concern is is my computer is 6 years old and probably I will not be able to upgrade to a later mac operating system as I have mac os 10.9, and I may not be able to upgrade to a future version of photoshop, will I be able to use the current version of photoshop CC with Mac OS 10.9 for the next 5 or so years on same mac?, I know I can do this with Photoshop CS6.

There's no reason why you can't do both. You will always have CS6 to fall back on if the need should ever arise, the same as most of the regular posters here. But you could enjoy CC for as long as it suited you, and it has some very features and more are coming all the time.
We've seen two nice updates to Photoshop CC in the eight months since the subscription model went live. (Have I got that right?) So we can expect three a year or more, and there were some killer new features in 14.2. Heck, it would already break my heart if I had to go back to CS6. In another four years... It ain't gonna happen.

Thanks everyone. What worked for me was a version of the suggestions above. I had the problem with the ≠ character appearing in all my Photoshop CS6 keyboard shortcuts and rendering them largely unusable. However, I don't have any other keyboards besides US English enabled on my Mac. I do have Spell Catcher installed, which works through the keyboard input method. So, I switched from Spell Catcher back to English (with the US flag), launched Photoshop and presto, my keyboard shortcuts were restored, absent that obnoxious ≠ symbol. Once in Photoshop, if I reselect Spell Catcher, the ≠ symbol returns so I have to run Photoshop without the help of Spell Catcher - or forego the use of keyboard shortcuts while it's on. Since the developer of Spell Catcher passed away last year there will be no more updates to the otherwise very useful utility. Apparently this keyboard shortcut problem in the various guises reported here is linked to some element of the OS X input method in Mavericks, as Photoshop seems to manifest the issue in relation to one specific input source or another. This is the first application in my experience to have a problem with Spell Catcher in OS X 10.9. So I will continue to use it, except in Photoshop. Spell Catcher was never updated for Mountain Lion or Mavericks so people like me will have to use it "at our own risk" as the saying goes. Be that as it may, it does appear to be a bug in Photoshop that's at the root of this matter as different people have somewhat different problems with the OS X input method - not that I expect either Adobe or Apple to do anything about it.

I can't activate my second version of photoshop CC on my second computer. My first version is at work and works fine, but when I try to install the second license on a second computer, the creative cloud doesn't reconize that I purchase Photoshop. It only gives me trial. Now the trial is over and it asks me to enter a serial. I follow up the instructions here Creative Cloud applications ask for serial number but it did nothing.
What can I do ?

Sorry for the missing infos.
At work, I am currently using PS CC 2014 on windows 7 with the lastest updates and everything is working fine. At home, I logged-in on the Creative Cloud with the same login I use at work, on my computer also running with Windows 7 full updated. But the creative Cloud seems to not reconize me as it only proposes me the trial of Photoshop CC 2014. I used all the 30 days trial and now asks me to enter a serial number. I read on the forum that missing infos in my profile could make creative cloud to not reconize my license (here : I can't activate my second version of photoshop CC on my second computer). I tried all the steps described on the link but nothing new.
What can I do to use my second copy of photoshop CC 2014 on my computer ?
