I want to read PDF file in my project ..for that i want PDF viewer..so m asking you ..can i use adobe PDF viewer in my project.

You can write software which uses an installed copy of Adobe Reader and its interfaces.
You cannot distribute the DLL by itself, or include it in your project files.
You can apply for permission to distribute Adobe Reader as a complete installer, subject to license.

How to make firefox open a URL in a PDF document which is loaded using Adobe PDF viewer in firefox to always in a new browser window ?

I have a web application which would enable users to see a list of PDF document on the web page and when the user select the PDF document, it will be open by a adobe PDF viewer.
Within the content of the PDF document, it will contact URL links to some other portal web pages which we would like these other web pages to be open in a new browser window, but our testing shows that the new web pages may not always open in a new browser window.
Could you help to advise how I can enforce that new web pages that are clicked from the PDF document can always be open in a new firefox browser window ?

Hello,
In order to change the default reader for PDF files (to not open PDF files with Firefox's internal PDF reader), follow these steps:
#Go to ''Tools'' > ''Options'' (or ''Firefox'' > ''Options'').
#In the Options window, select the ''Applications'' tab.
#In the ''Search'' field, type ''PDF''. You should find ''Portable Document Format (PDF)''.
#On the right handside you should find an ''Action'' column. Use that to select your favorite PDF reader. In order to view PDF files in Firefox, choose ''Preview in Firefox''.

Snow Leopard: can't use Adobe PDF printer through Distiller

I am on Quark 8.1.6.2 and Snow Leopard (10.6.4) and use Acrobat Pro 9.4.
To make a PDF file I am always used to going through the Quark print dialogue boxes, selecting Adobe PDF as the printer, setting up sizes, settings etc, saving to a .ps file then using Adobe Acrobat Pro (9.4) Distiller to make a high res PDF for press. Worked fine, before I got Snow Leopard.
I have now read that Adobe PDF Printer is not available on Snow Leopard and that all applications that used Adobe PDF Printer to print pdfs will not be able to print pdfs.

In the print dialogue box it no longer allows me to set up custom page sizes for a .ps file.
How do I now print to high res for print PDF (through a .ps file for Distiller). ie, I don't want to export to PDF through the Quark print dialogue, as it makes too big a file, that's why I need to go through Distiller first. Help!

PDF/X-3 is the best choice to use in those provided by Quark. You can read up on the PDF/X format here. For correct use, version 3 requires all fonts used to be embedded (which the Quark function does automatically). Version 3 also requires all images to be CMYK or spot color. That doesn't mean you can't use it for RGB, though. PDF/X-3 also allows calibrated RGB images and CIELAB.
I assume for pre-press output I should use ''Press - high quality/high resolution', but then Acrobat Distiller asks for settings too...
You don't go through Acrobat Pro or the Distiller at all when outputting a PDF from Quark. The function is built in. There are nice, short descriptions of the various PDF choices here.
When you select a style, the defaults are automatically applied. You will get center and trim marks and whatever else is in the default settings. After you have selected the PDF version you want to use, then click on the Options button. Turn off marks, downsampling of images, or whatever else you want to change. Click the Capture Settings button and Quark will then automatically use your last settings as the method to create PDF files. When clicking the option to capture, you'll be thrown back to the document the first time, so you'll have to go to the menu to choose Layout as PDF again. But you'll see the choice is on Captured Settings. So until you change it, all you have to do is choose a location and click Save.

I would like to use the Adobe Reader PDF viewer in Chrome instead of the built-in Chrome PDF viewer.
I went to Chrome:Plugins to disable the Chrome PDF viewer, but noticed that the Adobe Reader PDF plugin is not there.
I then went to Library/Internet Plug-ins and I do see the AdobePDFViewer.plugin file.
Is the Adobe PDF Viewer compatible with Chrome on Mac?

I have heard of no one who has been successful with AA8 on Win8. If you have any chance, you need to be sure you have updated Acrobat to the latest update to work with 64-bit systems.

Can we use adobe flash player Dll files in our product directly?

We have a commercial software product, and we use Chromium Embed Framework (CEF) as our internal browser kernel.
As we find currently, the CEF doesn't recognize the PPAPI flash player plugin, which is downloaded from Adobe Flash Player Install for all versions
So we want to use NPAPI plugin, and take two dlls named
NPSWF64_16_0_0_257.dll & NPSWF32_16_0_0_257.dll into our product directly, then user doesn't have to download the plugin from the adobe website.
Can we package these two Dlls into our product directly ?

Adobe PDF viewer in MFC Hangs while using in Child Dialog

Hi,
I am using Adobe PDF viewer ActiveX control in one of my application made in MFC. The PDF viewer Loads PDF and Work well when i place it in a Parent Dialog. But, If i use it in Dialog that is embedded as a Child dialog to another dialog, it just hangs the entire application if i try to scroll up/down the viewer or click any print/zoom etc options that comes with Adobe PDF viewer.
Could any body help me on this, It already cost me a day to get a solution.

I did forget to mention that I am now trying this under Windows 2000 Professional SP4 and VB6 SP5.
Also I made a mistake in my previous post, I have Reader 7 on my pc, not 9.
Adobe Acrobat Browser Control type Library 1.0 (AcroPDF.dll) can only be added to the project as a reference,
not as a component. Project - Component does not list this. I tried selecting Project - Components - Browse.
I then browsed to folder where I placed the AcroPDF.dll (C:\WINNT\system32). It was not listed in the default list since this lists
only ocx files. I selected to show all files and the dll was then listed.
If I selected this I received a message
The file 'C:\WINNT\system32\AcroPDF.dll' was not registerable as an ActiveX component.
Adding Adobe Acrobat Browser Control type Library 1.0 as a reference did not show anything in the toolbox.
There was no red logo in the toolbox items.
I definitely selected the General list and there was no sign of any Adobe or Acrobat item
I then tried right click on toolbox, selected Components and Adobe Acrobat Browser Control type Library 1.0
was not there.

I try to save files as a PDF on external hard drives. When I select SAVE AS PDF I get spinning colorwheel and the program I am using locks (Quicken, Quickbooks, Gmail etc.)

There were several /Library/preferences. The only one that had the file was the one under my user name. I deleted it. I was using Quickbooks when the problem started. It is locked. I have to reboot the computer to use it again. I tried SAFARI using the PRINT button then SAVE AS PDF. It didn't work. It locks Safari up. I will reboot and hopefully continue.
P.S. I've done this procedure before and I was able to Save, but then the problem came back.

ExportPDF is an online convertion program. It is not OS dependent. You can use this service anywhere. You would just require a web browser and working internet connection.

I get a similar error, but only under the following conditions: I must be printing to the Adobe PDF printer and printing multiple pages, one at a time, and then it only happens on the second and subsequent print attempts. That is to say, the first page prints just fine and this just started yesterday afternoon. The specific file referenced in the error does not exist, but why would it work the first time and not the second? Since it only started yesterday, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling this morning, but it made no difference. I don't see anything under print properties like job-options and it is a single user, unshared printer. Thoughts? I understand the same thing is happening in at least one other of our locations, but no one there has looked into it yet. This is a BIG problem for me, however, and I need to find an answer quickly.

I have recently installed CS3.
Now whenever I try to open a PDF on a webpage I just get a error box saying Adobe PDF viewer cant open the file.

You don't need to do that; Safari is perfectly capable of rendering a PDF by itself. You don't need Preview or Adobe Reader.
To do that again:
1. Quit Safari if it's running.
2. Launch Adobe Reader, go to Preferences > Internet and uncheck the box at the top of that window where it says "Display PDFs in browser using:".
3. Go to /Library/Plug Ins and delete the Adobe PDFviewer Plugin.
4. Enter the following command in Terminal, press Enter, then quit Terminal:
defaults write com.apple.Safari WebKitOmitPDFSupport -bool false
5. Restart Safari and try dragging a PDF file from your Mac onto an open browser window.
