Can I use an unlocked Sprint iPhone 5 (A1429 CDMA) on EE's 4G LTE network?

I want to use my unlocked Sprint iPhone 5 (model# A1429 CDMA) when I travel in the UK. The only 4G LTE carrier is EE.
They recommend you use an unlocked iPhone 5 (model# A1429 GSM), but I don't wish to purchase a new phone for such a short duration.
So can I use a unlocked  iPhone 5 (model# A1429 CDMA) on EE's network or not?

If you purchase the device unlocked, it can be used on any supported GSM carrier around the world.
There are no guarantees with LTE.  It may work on their LTE network, it may not.

Can my unlocked Sprint iPhone 4s be used on AT&T's $25 prepaid plan? I recently opted out of my two year contract. When I plugged in the AT&T gophone mini sim to activate it, it says "sim not valid" and says only compatible sim cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate the phone. Please help!

So I can't use my iphone 4s for any prepaid service? Could I use it for Verizon prepaid? I really just want to keep my iphone 4s and not have the big monthly bill.
The only way to use a Sprint CDMA phone with Verizon's CDMA network would be to entice Verizon to reflash the firmware on you phone.  And they will not do that, for anyone with any phone - you must purchase a Verizon phone to use the Verizon network.
You cannot use your CDMA Sprint phone with AT&T because AT&T does not operate a CDMA network.  They use GSM, which is a different network than CDMA.

  • Can I use my data from iPhone onto iPad if they are with different networks?

Is it possible to use my iPhone data on my iPad if they are both with different networks? Thanks

You don't have to be connected to the same network in order to transfer files – your devices automatically set up a direct wireless connection for AirDrop.

  • I bought a unlocked canadian iphone 4s, i am going to me living in the usa can i use my unlocked iphone 4s with sprint?

i am wondering if i can use my unlocked canadian iphone 4s in the states with sprint? can the cdma be unlocked so that any company that uses cdma can support it? or is the gsm the only one that can be unlocked and used with differnt carriers that support gsm?

The ONLY way this could happen would be if the OP returned the phone within the first 30 days of purchase in the original country of purchase, then bought a new one in the US on the Sprint network.

I had the same problem.  Kept getting message of waiting for activation or check network connections.  I also tried every solution out there and nothing worked.  This did though:  I download the newest version of itunes (through Internet Explorer - Google Chrome wouldn't work).  It pulled in my entire library thank goodness and then I plugged my iphone 4s into the computer.  I let itunes find it, did a complete backup in icloud, then did a restore.  Entire process took a couple of hours, but I now have imessage and facetime back.  I was about ready to give up on Apple and go get a different phone ~

Anyone know you can buy the iphone 6 unlocked?

Apple is not yet selling the unlocked version of 6 or 6 Plus (I verified this today at the Apple store, in person).  Many say that some versions now sold are unlocked, but you pay your money and take your chances.  I prefer to wait.
Oh, and if you are abroad for 3 years, you will have no warranty and no Apple service unless the phone is returned to the US.  Sounds like a good reason (to me) to buy it overseas.  YMMV
This does, of course, depend on what country one is inhabiting.

The AT&T, T-mobile, and Verizon iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are actually all the exact same phone and all have CDMA built in. I imagine Apple did this to simplify manufacturing and got a deal from Qualcomm to only get charged for the Verizon iPhones for the CDMA components which is probably all on the same chip now. That info is probably locked up so tight in a contract we may never know.
Anyway, it is true for multiple reports around:

  • Troubles unlocking Sprint iPhone 4

I have an iPhone 4 (wife's phone) that the contract was up a year ago, and I am in the process of selling it on Ebay.
It is an A1349 model which should be CDMA.  I know that unlocking it still only enables it to work on other CDMA networks and a new user of this phone would be safest just to use it on the Sprint network.  But it seems like getting it unlocked should be trivial - I've done this with an iPhone 4 on Verizon, and they responded quickly and did it for me no problem.
She called in to Sprint to have it unlocked, and Sprint told her that only Apple can issue unlock codes, Sprint cannot.  I said that this has to be total BS.
Anybody have success getting Sprint to unlock an iPhone 4?

You're right, it's up to Sprint to unlock the phone. But there would be much point to it as Sprint would be the only CDMA carrier the phone can be used on, and the iPhone 4 does not have a SIM slot for use on GSM carriers.

  • Can I use the unlocked 3GS without a SIM card?

I am one of the few (I guess) who refuse to pay for a data plan, but still want a capable iOS device that fits in my pocket. With no updates and aging specs, the iPod touch is not the option I hoped it would be.
So, what I'm wondering, is if I buy the 3GS Unlocked from the Apple store for $375, can I use it as an iPhone without the phone if I don't put a SIM card in it? Yes, I understand it will not function as a phone.
I basically want an iPod toch with GPS, a better camera, and a better processor... will the 3GS Unlocked be able to function in that capacity if I never activate it on any network, or does it require a SIM card to even "turn on"?

The current iPod Touch is basically an iPhone 4 without the phone feature, see here: http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/ipod/specs/ipod-touch-4th-gen-4g-facetime- specs.html.
If if you would go for an iPhone 3GS, it would not be more powerful than the current iPod Touch.

  • Icloud account cannot be used to unlock this iphone

Hi I previously managed to set-up my iphone then lock it out by entering my passcode incorrectly too many times.  In the end I have to restore the phone via itunes (which took 3 hrs)!.
I'm now trying to reset-up the phone, when I turned it on it remembered the previous icloud account the phone had been set-up with however it would not accept the password.  Its now saying this icloud account cannot be used to unlock this iphone.
When i log into the same icloud account on the PC, the password works, however the find my iphone doesn't show this iphone as being connected.
Any ideas on who I can get this iphone working again.
    Thanks Sadie

what can i do to open my iphone ???

Give this a try (this is normally the proceedure when you want to sell the phone on).
1st Turn the phone completely off.  Next goto http://icloud.com and log in,
Next select 'Find My iPhone', select your phone from the dropdown list and select 'Remove Device'.
Log out of your icloud account, Put phone into DFU mode, Restore phone and set up as a new iphone.
Following the above proceedure will remove the activation lock
    Hope this helps
