Can Intermedia Help Me

Question

Hello Gurus,
We have a application runs two times a day , which fetches data from a remote server.
We have a table in which we store URL to access a finance document which is in TIFF format.
What we have to do is to get the finance document in to one of our tables i.e into our database , each time we have a new URL.
The URL points to a document number
Example:
http://xxx.xxx.xxx/fin/doc_image.asp?pdocnum=MM02CLMS7A2
The finance document if we access it manually through browser, we get a popup window asking to "save" ,"open", "cancel" and shows the a file name
like "T123445.tif" on the pop up window , and this file name keeps on changing for the same URL though the document is same each time we access through the browser.
Can Intermedia help me with this situation.
Any Suggestion/ Advice is highly appreciated

The endpoint of a intermedia URL can represent anything you like. For example, a picture the most ordered poster of the day.
It can also be the next unprocessed document, but I would think you would need to work closely with the current session state.
For example, while we would deliver an image of the next unprocessed document, your application would need to know what document the user is looking at.
Since the file name is text outside the media, this would need to be handled by the web application.
Typically, the application would get the request, look up the next unprocessed document, store information about it in it's state and send a response to the user that includes a URL to the image (HTML and media are handled in different HTTP requests).
One thing interMedia might do for you is to convert your image to a more web friendly format. TIFF is typically not supported in most browsers without a browser plugin. So you may want to create and store a jpg of the document when it is put into the database.
