Can logic express 7.2 run in LION?

I just got a new Macbook Pro,
apparently my Logic Express 7.2 will not launch on this computer.
can logic express 7.2 run in LION?
Any workaround?

Hey Dewaine
Thanks for the help.
Now I have another issue.
Before you replied I bought and installed Logic Express 9. Which "erased" my old version of Express 7.
Most of my fies open fine in 9. However older files that have not yet been save in 7 will not open in 9, so....
Can I re-install 7 and have both versions running on my new Macbook(LION)?
Or would this screw up anything. It would be nice to have the choice of running 7 on the new machine as well as 9.
Thanks so much for your help.

No, 10.7 Lion is the highest you can go, though going up to 10.6 Snow Leopard only may be a better upgrade given the age of your iMac. 6 years old is getting on.
    10.6 Snow Leopard.

  • Can logic express slow down or change the key from playbacks like the program "Amazing slowdowner"?r

    Hello,
I'm a new member and I'm actually trying to work with garage band to record voice and playback. Can "logic express" Vs. 8.0 slow down or change the key from playbacks like the program "Amazing slowdowner"? This is a programm wich costs 50 US Dollar and I want to decide if i buy it or not.
What is the hgreatest different between "garage band" and logic express 8.0? Who can hepl me, which is the right thing for me. I find it difficult to find out which effects are the best only to record my voice with playback.
    Thanks for your advices.

If you want to slow down the audio why not download a program from ABRSM called Speedshifter- its free and is very good.  you could export the audio from Logic and open the MP3 file with speed shifter. I think speedshifter  may also  have the ability to alter the pitch as well. I use it for Flute practice- its very useful !

  • Can logic express 7 run on a macbook osx 10.6.8,2.4 ghz intel core 2 duo, 2gb ram?

I have Logic express 7.2 on an iMacppc g5.  will it also run on a Mac book with the above description?
    MK

I too am having the exact same problem, I've been using G4 for 2 years with Logic Express 7.0.1. I've just tried to install on intel G5 10.6.8. Snow Leopard - I've inserted disks, installed software, opened Applications and nothing has happened, nothing there
I've had a good look on Apple's site, downloaded several updates and still nothing, could this be because my version of Logic is for Power PC and G5 is intel processor?
    Many Thanks

  • Logic Express not working on mountain lion!

i am having problems with logic express 9.0.0 which is not running on mountain lion 10.8.2.
i have made an attept to try and get newer updates but before it gets anywhere this pops up

the Applications Folder. This Update requires Logic
Express version 9.0 or higher. "
(i do not have the logic disks at hand)
The message that pops up when i attempt to open logic
" you cant use this version of the
                    application "logic express" with this
                   version of OS X.
you have "logic express" 9.0.0 "
    please help!!

    Hi
First, you are going to need v9.1.7 or later with Mountain Lion (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5421)
    Second
To get the updaters to work several things MUST be correct:
The Logic Application must be named "Logic Pro" or "Logic Express" (depending on which type you are working with) with NO Additional spaces or numbers in the name.
The application must be at the root level of the Applications folder (and NOT anywhere else).

Why dosent my Logic Express 9 work on the OSX Lion on my iMac desktop computer?

You're no tard - had exactly the same issue myself. You'd think logic would have some built in message that suggests you run a software update before opening...

  • Logic Express 8 glitches with Mountain Lion - will I lose stuff if I re-install?

I use Logic Express 8, but it has been acting up since I upgraded my iMac from Leopard through Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion. The sliders for navigating around my song projects are not working properly, which makes it difficult to zoom in on details. The program also crashes every time I use Flex-Time. Anyone know why this is and what I should do? I have a large amount of stored music projects on my Mac and, although they're backed up on Time Machine, I'm afraid that if I re-installed Logic Express 8 I might lose all this material and have nightmares getting it back.

  • Can logic express 7 record samples with the internal mic

hey im thinking about buying Logic express 7, however im am wondering if it can record samples using the internal mic, or straight off the soundcard. for example say if i liked a sound i heard on youtube and i wanted to sample that sound so i could use it in a composition, how would i be able to do this? i have been doing this with my PC using a program called Audacity but im wondering if Mac has that option or more specifically if any Logic program has that option.
would anyone be able to help me?

thanks mate, does that come with logic? or is it a separate program, if so where do i get it and how much is it?

  • Can logic express be used as a sequencer?

Looking into buying some music production software, so want to know if logic exprees can be used as a sequencer.

If you are really serious about music production in a professional way, don't bother with Logic Express and get Logic Pro.
I would dispute that, but of course YMMV
This article describes the differences between Pro and Express pretty well:
    http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/aug05/articles/logicexpress.htm
I'd say go for Express in the first instance, and upgrade later if there's something that you really need (final cost will be the same IIRC, so there's nothing lost!)

  • How can I go back from running Mountain Lion v 10.8.2 to running Snow Leopard?

I have had nothing but issues with my computer when I went from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion.  My computer will constantly freeze when just trying to open the interent or open up another app.  I can't remember the last time I was able to have a normal shut down because it will just go to a gray screen and I am eventually forced to do a hard shutdown.  I don't know what else it could be other than the OS.  I'm just tired of having to constantly restart my computer so that I can use it.  Anyone have any suggestions.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
I think that something was damaged when you upgraded OS X. This can happen, and it looks like it happened to you. In your case, I recommend you to make a backup and reinstall Mountain Lion erasing the disk:
    1. Press Command and R keys while your Mac is starting, and open Disk Utility.
    2. Select Macintosh HD in the sidebar, go to Erase tab and erase the disk.
    3. Close Disk Utility and reinstall OS X. After installing OS X, restore your files manually and reinstall the applications
If this doesn't work, you can install Snow Leopard again:
    1. Insert the Snow Leopard disc and press C key while your Mac is starting.
    2. When the disc has started, open Utilities menu > Disk Utility, select the hard disk at the top of the sidebar, go to Erase tab and erase the disk.
    3. Close Disk Utility and install Mac OS X. After installing, open  > Software Update to install the most recent version

  • Cannot Record Audio using Logic Express 7.0.0 on 13" Macbook

Help! I have Logic Express 7.0.0 and am running it in on an Intel model Macbook 1.8Ghz, 13''. I do not have an external soundcard. Will this version of Logic Express allow me to record live audio if I do not have an external soundcard? I only want to be able to record & edit a single audio track, so thought I might be able to. I cannot seem to get the 'R' (Record) button to appear despite activating it in the >View< section, so I cannot arm any tracks, and so cannot record. Is there a bug with this version of Logic and the Intel Macs? Do I need to update? If so, what would be the best way to update?
    Regards,
