Yes. It will not effect your other iPod.

My new iPod Touch doesn't want to connect with iTunes.
Before, I had an iPod Nano from the second generation, so it was one of the first iPods on the market. Now I got an iPod Touch for my birthday, but when I plug him in on iTunes it says that there's something wrong with the software. I need to deinstall iTunes and that I have to install the latest version (64 bits). The thing is that I have the latest version. And I've deinstalled and installed iTunes at least 10 times now. I still get the same error.
Oh, and I have a laptop from Asus, so I work with Windows (64 bits).. Maybe that's important, I don't know.
I can't wait to finally put some music on my new iPod Touch, please help..

I have tried every trick in the book and read every thread on why my version of Windows Vista will not allow me to get at the iTunes Store. I cannot even get this new iPod Touch to sync with iTunes.
I've rebooted, soft restart, hard restart, removed iTunes and re-installed iTunes. Nada...nothing!
Does anyone else have the same issue and can they offer me a solution?See here for different ways to conserve your iPod's battery life.

My new ipod touch has become stuck. The screen has an image of the itunes logo near the top an arrow pointing up just below that, and an image of the charger at the bottom. I don't know what this means. I've tried charging it, and turning it off and on, but it comes back to this screen every time. Anyone else experience this and know how to fix it? Thanks!
plug your ipod into itunes...it may not do anything plugging it into your own itunes so you may want to try plugging it into someone elses to save the trouble. I had this same problem last week plugged it into my dads ipod and it worked (:

New iPod touch received today from Apple Store still running 2.2.1
I received my 8GB iPod Touch 2G from Apple Store (Hong Kong) this morning (August 28, 2009). I order it earlier this week.
After checking, it runs 2.2.1, not 3.0.x. Plugged in iTunes, it told me I need to pay USD9.95 to upgrade it to version 3.
Called Apple rep and the guy said this is expected.
I supposed all the new iPod ordered from the Apple online store should come with the latest s/w installed, or at least a promo voucher to claim the upgrade if it is not practical to upgrade all the inventory.
Is this the case in other countries?OS 3.0 is sold separately as noted at the bottom of the iPod touch Software Update page:

Apple have not yet announced any iPod touches that ship with v3.0 pre-installed, which is why all the product pages for the iPod touch on the Apple web-site, only list features in v2.0

For the last 5 years or so, new iPod models have been released in September each year.
1st generation iPod touches were shipped with OS v1.0 in September 2007
2nd generation iPod touches are shipped with OS v2.0 in September 2008
3rd generation iPod touches and ones that ship with OS v3.0 have not yet been announced. -
I know this is a strange question, but my house was broken into, and my old iPod touch was stolen. The guy that took it is now taking selfies with the iPod that are showing up on My Photo Stream. Is it possible to find out the IP address of where the iPod is connecting to iCould from to sync the photos?

Can I shut off wifi to prevent my ipod touch music library from being tampered with?
I switched to a different media source but once more my CD music disappeared. But instead of being corrupted this time it was converted to other. It was fixed by just pulling up the music app list and unchecking/checking the songs again thankfully though.. But if I shut off my wi-fi on my ipod will this prevent my cd music on my touch from being messed with?
I already got off the phone with a rep two days ago and they scratched their heads as to what's even causing this. We did everything known to fix it, and after looking at the numerous threads now its obvious it isn't just a hardware issue. Everyone is having issues with their cd music. I'd rather just have this nightmare end by any means possible.I doubt wifi has anything to do with unless yo have the iPod and iTunes setup to sync via wifi.
To turn wifi off place the iPod in airplane mode. -
This is first Ipod for me - I have had less than one day. Screen is frozen with itunes emblem and cable. Unable to refresh/restore or do anything with ipod. I turn off/on and get the same frozen screen. My computer does not recognize ipod. Itunes does not recognize ipod so I cannot restore.... Should I take this ipod back and get a new one? Is this normal?

New ipod touch is stuck on blue screen with aple logo
I plugged in my new apple ipod touch to my computer and on my itune screen a box popped up and said, "new update available for ipod touch" so i clicked accept and then it said that it was updating and everything and the screen of my ipod turned a blue/black color and had the Apple logo on it. Then a bar came up right underneath the Apple logo and it started to fill in, but it was filling in very slow. I thought that the update came up because i had just downloaded some things from the apps store to my itunes on my computer, so i thought it was putting it on my touch. It has been stuck on the blue/black screen with the Apple logo and completely filled bar for a long time and it has not changed once.

Have you tried resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Next connect it to your computer and try to restore the iPod via iTunes on your computer. -
