Can not connect to Admin Console FMS 3.5 running separate Apache Server

Hi All! I have installed the FMS 3.5 Server on a separate IP from our main Apache Server: The server is running Redhat Linux 2.6.18-128.1.10.el5
FMS 3.5 running on ***.***.**.138 using ports 1935, 8080 (Admin Server using port 1111)
Apache 2 running on ***.***.**.139 using port 80, 443. (several sites setup on this IP)
However, when accessing the fms_adminConsole.htm in the root directory of one of the domains on ***.***.**.139, all login attempts fail. I am connecting to localhost and using the assigned user and password set up in fms.ini. Using either IP fails as well. The FMS server is set up to listen to all hosts as no specific IPs were set.
/var/log/messages show that FMS and the Admin Server are up an running and listening:

All other settings for FMS are default. This is my first time setting up FMS as a fresh install on a new unknown server and I am at a loss as to what settings to check or which files I may need to modify to get it to connect properly. It is a managed server is hosted by rackspace.com if that makes any difference.
Sorry if I have not provided enough info... let me know what I missed and I will supply it.

Sorry for the confusion! *I* am the one really confused. But to answer your question (I hope), the webpage is on the same physical server as the FMS server, but I am using an outside network (I am not on the local server network) to browse the webpages.
Both IPs fail when trying to reach:

establish a connection to the database using C#.
As Olaf said, was any error message thrown out when the connection failed? How did you create these databases?
You can use the following T-SQL to attach the database and see if the issue persists.

No application showing in planning web & can't connect to admin console

Hi,
Planning web screen showing 'No aApplication available" even though I worked with planning application yesterday also and after that I am sure nobody have deleted that application. Also I can't login into essbase admin console as it is showing "cannot connect to administration server" though I have checked in services console that hyperion administration services is running.
One exception I got is shared services is not running. So I started that but after some time automatically went to stopped mode. Then I stopped all the services and restart the server and restart the services sequentially---- no hope. Same problem still there.
Can you please suggest how to solve the aforesaid?

Thanks for your reply. I have tried that but still the same error having in admin console. I have not craeted/modified anything in planning cluster in last some days. The problem is that all services is started properly except 'shared services' service. When I go to start that it is starting and showing started but after some time, automatically stopped. I also tried the following-----
1) Stopped all the other services except OpenLDAP
2) then started the shared services from start-> run-> hyperion-> foundation services-> start shared services
and got the error like---
Driver][Oracle]ORA-12505 Connection refused, the specified SID (xxxxx) was no
recognized by the Oracle server.
Database configuration test failed. Use Configuration Utility to configure the

I've installed HTML DB on 10g, but when I open up http://localhost:7777/pls/ htmldb/htmldb_admin and put in password (which works on sqlplus) it says ID... is wrong?

HTMLDB got renamed to APEX.
You can upgrade your HTMLDB version to APEX fairly easily. You find the download here: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/download.html
Installation instructions are included. You get so much more with the new version of APEX that I think it's really worth your time to do the upgrade.
About your login problem: can you try to login in the INTERNAL account with ADMIN? There's also a reset password available.

Please do not tell me to Buy a Mac computer. I all ready have 23 in my family and they are all at least 1200 miles from me now.

Try reinstalling iTunes. Or, if you already have iOS 5, you can update from the phone.
About the CPU Usage: if you have an old computer, and you're running the latest version of iTunes, the CPU will go up.

Can't login to Admin Console after period not using

We have portal 3.0P4 on Solaris 8 (gateway and server seperate systems) and have always the same problem.
After a time, not using the admin console, we're not allowed to login anymore.
We get the following message: Your Admininstration Console login session has timed out.
The auth log says: Login Failed Unix initialization LoginExceptionI/O exception trying to
connect to Unix service UserDomain /<domeinname>
Only after restarting the portal, it works fine again. This is not a solution with a production system!

DId you try restarting just the Unix auth helper (doUnix) process instead of the whole ipsserver?
Sometimes even if the process is running it has a problem.

I setup a FTP Server and i can connect from the inside fine but from the outside i can not connect in passive mode. I can in regular ftp or ssh.

This looks like FTPS which is not supported on the ASA. You can workaround it by trying to connect using Active mode from the outside instead of PSV.

Servers not visible in admin console

Hello,
we have admin server and one managed server (soa_server1) up and running, but for some reason they are not visible in admin console Environment -> Servers. The list is empty...
Any idea why admin console cannot see these servers?
Can this be fixed any other way than recreating the domain?
As a consequence jdbc datasource cannot be created. Testing the database connection succeeds but after that setting the target cannot be done.
We have weblogic 10.3.3.

we rebooted the RedHat EL5 machine we have weblogic installed, after reboot Servers are visible as they should and datasource targeting for soa server succeeds.
In the same machine there's Oracle SOA Suite 11g in one domain (AdminServer, soa_server1), and Oracle Service Bus in another domain. It is a mystery why things did not work before reboot.

11g node manager reachable but server does not start from admin console

I have a issue with node manager is reachable from admin console and from command prompt it is not connected and could not able to start the managed server.
If i change /config/nodemanager/nm_password.properties plain text and restart it is not reachable in admin console abut can connect from command prompt. I could not able to start the even with this scenario.
i see below error when try to check machine monitor tab.
<Error> <NodeManager> <BEA-300033> <Could not execute command "getVersion" on the node manager. Reason: "Access to domain 'dom_11gint' for user 'Ckr10ycOJN' denied".>

node manager and managed servers are not root user process.

Pls. make sure the following points in your environment.
1) Check '*nodemanager.domains*' file in <<WL_HOME>>\commo\nodemanager directory
     a) This file should have the entry for your domain 'dom_11gint'.
     b) Ensure the path referred in the nodemanager.domains file is correct one.
2) Ensure the following remote server startup parameters are passed properly.
     a) In the Admin Console, Navigate Servers --> <<SERVER_NAME>> -->Configuration --> Server Start
     b) Pass the required Class Path, Arguments, User Name, Password(User name and Password to boot the managed servers)

Action Script uses AMF3 format to communicate. However, Flash
Media Server 2 only understands the AMF0 format.....
Do the following:

Can not connect computer to Cisco Connect -EA3500

Can not connect computer to Cisco Connect -.Receive error msg 82BD0305. Reset to EA3500 to default and reinstalled software.

Reading the manual it says the username is blank, password 'admin'.

New member of ora_dba group on server can not connect as sysdba.

We have added a new dba to our staff and have made him a member of the local group Ora_dba on the server (9i windows). He can not connect as sysdba but a long-time dba can.
SQL> connect / @s1 as sysdba
ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
I know this is a very old Oracle challenge so I am sure someone can give us some guidance!

1) Examine the contents of the file located at:

This file lists the operating-system groups that have administrative access, notably the one listed in the line containing "SS_DBA_GROUP". Is t
he UNIX account you are using to connect / as sysdba a member of this OS group?
2) Examine the contents of the file located at:
$ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/sqlnet.ora
Within this file, the line containing the string "SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES" should either be commented out, or be set to SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (BEQ,NONE)
3) Check the value of $ORACLE_SID for the UNIX account(s) connecting / as sysdba to ensure it is correct.

WPA Can Not Connect???

Where I work we have a linksys wifi 54G system. When I try to connect it will show the network name and ask for the WPA password. The problem is when I put in the password it says it can not connect. I also tried an alpa-numeric key that I was given for the network with the same result. We don't have any kind of IT person just a router that someone brought in. I did get the key and password conformed with others that have no problem with there PC's to connect. They did say though that they were asked to put both in when they connect which does not happen for me. I tried to change the type of security to connect with but the drop down menu does not let me do this. I was hoping to get into the router settings to see if there was something I could change with out luck because of a password on that as well. The person who supplied the router is never around just a part timer so it is not easy to get him to find out anything else with the system. Oh and it shouldn't be any kind of signal issue since the router is set up 10ft away from me with out anything in the line of sight.

your linksys should have the user login and password written under the modem, somewhere near serial number.
if you type in the address on your browser: http://192.168.1.1 (for instance), it will give you login windows.
Just type 192.168.1.1 on user and the password (Password or Admin), it should give you the access unless the guy changed the password.
Once you get inside, you can go to wireless setting and see the actuall password in there.
Even if the guy changed the password, you still can reset that by use a pointy device and push to the reset button next to the power adapter hole.
Sometime you don't need to mess up with your lynksys, just type ssid or connection name correctly and type the "hex" or "alpha numeric".
Some user said thay put $ infront of the sequence number and they connect just fine after that.

10GR2: API5022:can not connect to the specified repository.

Today I have started getting the following message when try to connect to the Design Center in 10GR2:
'API5022:can not connect to the specified repository. Verify connection information'
Nothing has changed in the repository for several days, though we were able to login to the Design Center yesterday without any issue. This is happening for all users, so is not a client problem.
Also, we can login to the repository via repository browser, administrator and various query tools. Therefore, the connection details are ok.
Has anyone else encountered this in 10.2? If so, any suggestions would be very much appreciated...

The problem might be caused by changing the LOCALE setting to a value that is not recognized.
The selection in the preferences does not allow to reset to an empty value, nor does OWB allow to cancel the selection.
This setting is stored locally outside any database at the following location:
C:\oracle\OWB102\owb\bin\admin\Preference.properties.
where the first part is the OWB homedir
After I changed the content into the following, I was able to start OWB and connect to the repository again without any errors:

Even though it says not to modify, remember that the only alternative would be re-installing OWB.

Can not connect to app store

lately, i do not know why my imac can not connect to the app store ... i followed the instructions in "http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5202" except the Edit your Keychain ... there is NO blue + over any certificates icon ... i still can not connect to the app store...
i could have the app store display the front page after doing all instructions according to the web page ... when i click the login button try to log in and it display the empty page with "Can Not Connect To App Store"...
i have tried few times with same result...
any help to resolve this issue...

☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
