Can not start Enterprise Manager web page

I can not start Enterprise Manager web page.
Here is my steps:
1. Start enterprise manager
emctl start
Waiting for EM to initialize ...Started
2. Check status:
emctl status
EMD is up and running : 200 OK
3. Start the web page
http://myhost:1810/
4. get following error
"There was no response. The server could be down or is not responding"
System info:
Database: 8.1.7.2
OAS: 9.2.0.2
JDK: 1.3.0_02
Server OS: SunOS 5.8
My question is where is the log file of enterprise manager and what the problem is.

Could Not start Enterprise Management Server Service

Hi,
I have installed Oracle 8i Personal Edition 8.1.6.00 on a Win2000
machine at home.
I can connect to the database that i have created (oracleDB)
When i try and run Enterprise Manager and connect to the
database, i get
the error
"ORA- 12541: TNS: no listener"
Im guessing this is because i do not have the
'OracleOraHome81ManagementServer' service running (???)
When i try and start it from the Services MMC, i recieve the
error
"Could not start the OracleOraHome81ManagementServer servic on
Local
Computer
Error 997: Overlapped I/O operation in progress"
Can anyone help me out with this?
All other Oracle related services run fine.
I have admin privelages for the PC.
Have PATH for oracle set up correctly i think.
Any help would be much appreciated

Try creating a repository via the Configuration Assistant first
Martin, and then start the OMS service. It worked for me.

Can not open official Apple web pages?

Very strange.... can not open Apple web pages... just hangs on loading!

I have the same problem! I have my iMac and my PC connected via same router and same adsl modem. On the PC I can browse www.apple.com (actually, it takes half a minute to load the page, but it works); the iMac (both Safari and Firefox) is unable to load any page in the Apple official site.
On the iMac I'm able to load the Apple home page only if I digit directly the IP Address of www.apple.com site. Very strange. I'd appreciate any suggestion, thanks in advance.

Can not drop enterprise manager.

When I try to start Enterprise Manager 10g after I rename the machine.

OS is Sun Solaris and Oracle version is 10.2.0.1 .
Renaming the machine, I can't start Enterprise Manager by type "emctl start dbconsole" but system show bottom error.

After install oracle 10g, enterprise manager web version, can not login

I have installed oracle 10g on windows xp pro sp2 successfully, can use sqlplus to connect to DB, but when using IE to login enterprise manager web version port 1158, it failed. The login page came out, but when I keyed in the right userid/password ie sysman/pwd1234, the login screen just refreshed, nothing happen. but if I purposely key in wrong userid or password, the message "invalid userid or password" comes out.
Another "interesting" thing is, I can login web version isqlplus successfully using the same userid/password. but can not connect to web version isqlplus/dba, even I use user sys, also can not login.
Need your urgent help to solve this problem.

Oracle 10g Enterprise Manager web service unable to start

I am unable to get Enterprise Manager web service for Oracle 10g to start in Windows. Anybody can tell me where to find out what is the problem and what are the possible problems and solutions? I do not wish to re-install or create a new database instance because there is existing data and will require extensive configurations to my web and app servers if I change the database instance. Labels Not Showing Up Correctly in Workflow Manager Web Page

I have installed the Workflow Server 2.6.3 on Red Hat 7.2 against the Oracle 10g database. When I go to the Workflow Manager web page and login, all the labels appear between brackets "[]" and have incorrect names such as the following:
WF_WORKFLOW_TITLE
WFA_WTITLE
OPEN_NOTIFICATIONS
WFA_FINDTITLE
WFRTG_FIND_TITLE
etc......
I ran the Configuration Assistant again and this didn't solve the problem and I've also verified that the mappings in the server configuration file are correct for OA_JAVA, OA_DOC, OA_MEDIA. Looked through workflow installation log and no errors appear. I installed the web server (Oracle Apache Standalone downloaded from OTN in a separate Oracle Home). Any ideas how to fix these incorrect labels or why they're not showing up correctly??

I've not seen the problem myself, but it seems that the language has not created the correct lookups in the WF_RESOURCES table.
If you look for a name of (for example) 'OPEN_NOTIFICATIONS', there should be an entry for the language you are using (US) which translates the prompt for you. If it's not there then you will probably need to add a language through the installer - I don't think there is a SQL file that you can just run to do it. Alternatively, install it in a new environment and then just extract the resources you need from that system and insert them into this one.

Can't login to Enterprise Manager Web Site

I installed version 2 of the application server (the core package) and was able to go to the Enterprise manager at http://myhost:1810 . I then applied the mandatory patch. After restarting (emctl start) the site prompts me for a password but will not take the ias_admin password I used before.
Am I missing something?

There's another step involved for windows. See the 9iAS release notes addendum, this entry:
11.5 Resetting the Administrator Password
The Enterprise Manager Web Site will enforce use of the current Administrator (ias_admin) password when you log in to Enterprise Manager, stop the Enterprise
Manager Service, or change the ias_admin password. If you have forgotten your ias_admin password then you must reset it using the following procedure while you
are logged on to your PC as the person who installed Oracle9iAS:
1.Edit the following file and locate the line that defines the credentials property for use the ias_admin user:
%ORACLE_HOME%/sysman/j2ee/config/jazn-data.xml
The following example shows the section of jazn-data.xml with the credentials entry in boldface type:

I can not start management server

Dear Oracle collegues,
why I can not start service OracleHomeNameManagementServer?
message is something about conntacting sys admin (I have german version of Win 2000, and english version of Oracle 8i Enterprise Edition), probably some lack of rights (I am ORA DBA on local system).

I think, sys admin means a superuser for the Enterprise manager.

I understand that is a old thread, I will still go ahead and reply to this in case if this can be of help to other users.
The troubleshooting for this issue mostly depends on the status of the website on the portal. From the event logs, it appears that the faulty application is WaIISHost.exe.
I suggest that you have a look at this article that explains the scenario for Web Role Recycling.

Can Not start Database after Server is restarted !!!!

I am building a oracle Hyperion Essbase and planning sandbox on my laptop using VMware 9.0
and 11gr2 as ny database.
Once I complete the install and config, I am installing the essbase EAS client, once that is completed I have too restart the server

Can not start data Collection service

I have installed Fabric Manager version 3.3.(4). In the Performance Web Client I can not start the service Data Collection is in starting forever.
I also could not stop it. I rebooted the server and the status for this service is in starting.

Please provide more details like: Server OS, Java version, and what type of database you are using for the FM Server. Have you considered using a newer version of FM Server?
