Can Photoshop Elements version 13 handle raw files from Canon camera 7D mark 2?
Where can I read about it on Adobe web site?
I found an Adobe web site note that raw plug-in version 8.7 will support Canon 7D mark 2, but is not included in Elements version 11.

  • Photoshop Elements 13 and RAW files from Canon 7DMII?

I just received a Canon 7D Mark II and need some editing software that can handle it's RAW images.  I currently use Photoshop Elements 11 and really like it but the version of Camera RAW in that software cannot take the 7DMII files even though I did the Camera RAW upgrade that was available.  If I have to get more software, I would prefer to get Photoshop Elements 13 over Lightroom.  Can anybody tell me if Elements 13 has the version of Camera RAW that can accept those files?  Thanks in advance.

Thank you.  Right now I have Elements 11 and wanted to make sure if I purchased 13 it would work and I guess it does
You can always download the trial version before paying for it.  Use it for 30 days and then buy the boxed version to activate your trial product.  You only need to insert the serial number to activate the trial version if you decide to buy the boxed version.

  • Can elements 13 open raw files from Canon 70d?

Can elements 13 open raw files from Canon 70d?

PSE8 can't be updated but you can download and install the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your raw files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the DNG files will open in PSE8(keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)
Windows download (.exe file) click here DNG Converter 8.3
Mac download (.dmg file) click here DNG Converter 8.3
You can convert a whole folder of raw images in one click. See this quick video tutorial:

  • Lightroom 4.  dose not handle RAW files from canon 5D MK 111.

I have purchased lightroom 4. It dose not handle RAW files from canon 5D MK 111.
I have downloaded and ran the suggested file from Adobe, but still no luck.
    Anyone have the answer?

The initial release of Lightroom 4 doesn't handle the 5d mk 3 files because of when the camera was released.  You can either wait for the 4.1 release, or you can download the 4.1 Release Candidate 2 at http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/lightroom4-1/.
Technically you can also download Adobe's DNG converter, but that just adds another program to the situation.

  • Why can't Bridge open my raw files from Canon PowerShot 120-S? Using PS/5

Why can't Bridge open my raw files from my new Canon Power Shot 120-S camera? I'm using PS-5 and had no problems with other Canon cameras. I downloaded Adobe Camera Raw 8 but this has not resolved the problem.
    Jack

    1. you need cr 8.3+ for the Canon PowerShot S120
    2. ps cs5 can only update to cr 6.7
free solution: use the dng converter: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5694
integrated solution: upgrade to ps cc.  here are the options (but especially note the photographer plan for 9.99/mo) - http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/buying-guide.html

  • Why can't I open my RAW files from my Nikon D7000 ?? I can open RAW files from my old Nikon D70's but not my D7000...

I can't open my RAW files from my Nikon D7000 on Elements 7. The files from my old Nikon D70s open but not my D7000... Any Idea why?

Not sure what your version of PSE is but if it is PSE13 then you may need to update your product by going to
    Help >> Updates
This ensures you get the latest updates to support all known cameras in the market.
Old products may not have the latest updates so you need to use DNG converter for which there is a wonderful video that is self explanatory:
    Hope this helps.

  • When Will Photoshop Elements 12 support Raw files from Nikon D3300

i have just got my Nikon d3300 and now want to edit and clean my images , but cannot find any information about when photoshop elements 12 will be able to do this , any help people.

The soon-to-be-released Camera Raw 8.4 includes support for the D3300. It's only available as a beta for Photoshop CS6 and CC at the moment.
    https://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2014/02/camera-raw-8-4-rc-and-dng-converter-8-4-r c-now-available.html
However you can download and install the DNG 8.4 converter (also a beta version), convert your D3300 Raw files to DNGs then edit the DNGs in Elements 12
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/cameraraw8-4.html
"Note: Camera Raw 8.4 and DNG Converter 8.4 are no longer officially supported on the following platforms: Mac OS 10.6.x (Snow Leopard), Windows XP, Windows Vista."

  • Photoshop elements 10 kann raw-files von Canon eos 70D nicht öffnen?

gibt es ein update - und wenn ja - wann?

    Moved to the German forum.
Here is the page with the compatible versions of Camera Raw. You need 8.2 to open the files from a 70D: http://helpx.adobe.com/de/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
but you need at least Photoshop Elements 12 to install it. http://helpx.adobe.com//x-productkb/global/camera-raw-compatible-applications.html (the german version needs an update)
If you do not intend to update Elements, you should convert the CR2 files to DNG ones that your Camera Raw version can open.

  • DNG raw plug in 8.2 cannot open raw files from canon camera S120

After downloading DNG raw plug in 8.2 for CS5 for the new Canon S120 camera, the raw file still cannot be open
    Can someone help

Right, ACR 8.3 is for cs6 and cc; it will not work as a plugin update in CS5.  You should download the 8.3 DNG converter stand alone program from
    http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates.html
then use it to convert folders of your new S120 cr2 raw files to folders of dng files, which can be processed in your cs5 by acr 6.7 (latest cs5 release).

You could try using the DNG converter 8.7 on Windows vista:

  • How can I work the raw file from Canon 5D MkIII in Photoshop Elements 9?

how can I work the raw file from Canon 5D MkIII in Photoshop Elements 9?

You can download the 7.1 DNG converter to make copies of your canon raw files in the adobe dng format, which can then be opened in pse 9.
As said above the the latest camera raw plugin 6.5 for pse 9 won't open those files directly, but will open the the converted dng files.

  • I can open RAW files from my camera in photoshop cs5, but they dont save properly after editing

I can open RAW files from my camera in photoshop, but then after I have edited, i save as .raw, and open up the newly saved file and it just comes up as a grey messed up picture.  What am I doing wrong?

I thought that it was preferrable to do editing on RAW files rather than TIFF for highest image quality.
Yes, it is preferable to do as much editing on the raw files as you can including global and local tone & color correction in Camera Raw...but there is a limit to the work you can do and sometimes you must go ahead and render the raw file into Photoshop for additional work. Then you'll be needing layers and other functionality that can't be done on a raw file. At that point you'll need to save as a TIFF or PSD. If you work in 16 bit and a large enough color space, the TIFF or PSDs will still be capable of the highest quality...as others have indicated, the Photoshop .raw file format ain't for photography per se.

  • How do I get CS5 Bridge/Photoshp to handle RAW files from my D800E?

How do I get CS5 Bridge/Photoshop to handle RAW files from my D~800E?

There are many who would say, based only on empiric data (boo) and not opinion (yay), that the most accurate raw conversions would be obtained using the Nikon software and not secondary processors like the Adobe converter. The DNG process makes irreversible changes to the raw data which may or may not matter but the DNG is not the same as the original raw file.
You can do the experiment yourself, for FREE, and compare different methods of raw conversion. You may be surprised at what you see. You have to be because different converters tune to different image characteristics. Don't be taken in about claims Adobe makes for its convertor without proving them to yourself. Adobe has made deliberate pre-set choices for its converter and they may not be the best for you. Or they may be, as we have all become so used to what Adobe chooses we think we chose it ourselves.
If I were able to afford, and had the energy to lug around a D800e, I might not want to compromise the image quality I just shelled out such massive bucks to obtain using the Adobe converter without proving that was the best option for me, but I don't do it for a living. Also, if you can shell out for a D800e and are enamored of the Adobe Converter realize it only costs $10/month for a CC subscription, possibly tax deductible, and you can still retain your older version of PS. The CC version of PS allows use of the ACR as a filter layer, if you are fond of the converter tools (which are much improved in the latest version).
