Can't acces the database with EM database control
I just did a fresh 10g R2 (only oracle home) installation on a laptop with Win XP SP2 (spanish) and everything was fine. I can connect to de database using Plus or any other development tools. But when I open the EM start page (host:1158/em) using either IE or firefox (both spanish) I get the following message just below the EM logo: "EM couldn't connect to the database instance"
The Instance, listener and agent are ok.
I was reviewing the logs and i found these errors pointing to NLS configuration. But I don't know what's wrong.
I have NLS_LANG set at KEY_OraDb10g_home1 with: LATIN AMERICAN SPANISH.WE8MSWIN1252.

That's a possibiliy.
If the router is set to just accept certain MAC-addresses, it might block your iPhone. But in that case, it should not prompt you for the password, it should just refuse connection. Might depend on the type of router, though...
If you log in to the routers admin settings, you can usually enable logging. That can help you to see if the router itself logs that the iPhone is connected or if any error messages pops up on the router side. -

My problem is, I have to design the common sql file , which can be executed in 2 diffrent environments ( Say QA & DEV ) , with no parameters. It has to identify the environment and based on the environment , it has to generate the concern files.,
The only change needs to be incorporated is , file names , which will change based on the environment.,
can nay one tell me , how can i identify the environment name or database name in the PL/SQL code ??
RajaIn this case, USEC_GI_DEV.NA.XXXNET.NET is a TNS alias. That alias exists only on the client machine. There is no way to access that information on the database server.
You would have to find something in the v$database or v$instance table that uniquely identifies the database (and you may need some help from the DBAs to do this because you need to ensure that the data element you choose is compatible with whatever refresh process(es) are used in your environment).
Now, if you are writing a stand-alone SQL*Plus script, SQL*Plus, as a client tool, does have access to the TNS alias in later versions. But that is a client-side determination, not a server-side determination.

Is it possible to monitor alert log errors in Oracle 8i/9i Databases with EM Grid Control 10g and EM 10g agents? If yes, is it possible to get some kind of notification?
I know that in 10g Database, it is possible to use server generated alerts, but what about 8i/9i?

[email protected]That is right you need atleast 2 boxes. The two servers will use the same hard disks.
The concept is an extension of OPS(Oracle Parallel Server).
Basically, you install Oracle Server Software on both the boxes, One database will be shared by both the servers. You can access your database through the Server1 or Server2. If Server1 fails then the Server2 will take over all the connections. You can add or remove any servers to and from the cluster any time you want with out impacting your production.

No, nothing will prevent the computer from going to sleep when you close its display except third-party hacks that are designed to do exactly that. I strongly advise against using any of those, as they may interfere with successful entry into clamshell mode (and they carry other downside risks as well). Just wait until the computer is asleep (with its sleep light pulsing), then press any key on the keyboard. It sounds as though your setup is working as it's designed to do.

I have updated my iPhone 3Gs to the latest software in an attempt to iron out a problem with a new telephone network provider (Tmobile). I had backed up my phone before I did this. Now I have lost my music and apps. I can't sync the phone with my Mac, I can't re-download from iTunes as the phone says I don't have any music or apps available to re-download although it all shows up on my Mac. The music and app content cannot be restored when I try to restore the phone from the back up I madeon my Mac. Help!
Working on that now. I'm just getting frustrated that everytime I run updates for the phone I end up with tech problems that I have to spend time solving as opposed to updates that actually improve my usage. Now I will once again get to spend hours reloading my phone all for updates that didn't affect my usage in the first place.

My iPad has to be really really close to the router for it to have internet. How can I make it so I can go around the house with it? My iPad has been like this for a couple of months, and it has really irritated me. My friend came over and he had to download iTunes for something on the computer. He needed my iPad, he tried it and it wasn't really near the router.

Whether you can redownload music depends upon what country that you in. If you are using your computer's iTunes then does music show in the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page (on your phone you might be able to redownload media via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app) ? If music shows there, but not that album, then check to see if it's hidden : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919
If you aren't in a country when you can redownload music and it's still on your phone then you should be able to copy it over from the phone via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. -

Hi all, i'm new to Mac book & Xcode. I'm learning and facing problems while creating a new file for Xcode. Before i upgrade the software, i have no issue to create simple steps in apps. After upgrade Xcode to 4.6 version, i'm facing lot's of issue eg.
1) "the identity "iphone developer" doesn't match any valid certificate/ private key pair",
2) can't select the box "with XIB for user interface" if the subclass is "UIViewController"..
