Can't access XP PRO on Via SATA with Promise SATA enabled......

Here's the deal.....I just bought a WD 250GB SATA drive. I currently have 2 WD raptors on VIA in RAID 0(dual boot w/win XP PRO). I installed new SATA using Promise controller and set it up as 1 disk RAID. This works fine with my IDE harddrive(Dual boot w/XP home), however, when I try to boot for the Raptors(VIA sata) I get can't start windows missing or corrupt file (windows root)/system32/hal.dll. Now, when I disable the Promise RAID, XP PRO on VIA RAID boots fine. Do these 2 controllers not work together? or am I just missing something??? Your help is appreciated....

When you enable the Promise controller, you're no longer able to boot from the VIA Raid. You need to use the Promise RAID/SATA to boot from, or an IDE device. Windows will see the VIA RAID controller, so you can setup a data-storage partition (or something like that) on the VIA.
Now, you probably want to move your Raptors to the Promise controller, just to make use of both controllers and to boot from your Raptors. If so, you can try the following.
1. Backup your disks - there's a 50/50% chance that this will not work, but it's worth a try and I managed to do it several times;
2. Now, boot up your system and install the Promise drivers (you have to play with this a bit, I don't know anymore how I did it last time. I think you have to enable the Promise controller in BIOS without connecting any drive. You'll still be able to boot from the VIA controller);
3. Shut down Windows and PC;
4. Connect drives from VIA controller to Promise controller;
5. Start system and enter Promise RAID Setup utility (watch your screen to see what keys to use - I'm at work now, and cannot check it for you);
6. Setup a RAID-array (exactly like you had it on the VIA - you may want to check using VIA config tool in Windows for block size, etc.);
7. When you setup this raid, the Promise uitl will give you a choice, how to proceed. One of these choices is to only initialize the array. Choose that one. The other option will destroy your data;
8. exit and reboot and hope that it will work. somethimes it does, sometimes it does not.

Yes, but the issue is the IP address. If you have a static IP from your ISP it is easy.. Or if you use another router with dyndns it is easy.. but Apple make it exclusive to their network so you can have loads of issues without a computer to function as a client for dns.
Look up remote Time Capsule access .. there is plenty of info out there.

Can't access Logic Pro 9 from app store.

Can't access Logic Pro 9 from app store. I purchased it from the App Store for my iMac in Jan 2012. I know have my wife's old macbook, and I'm trying to get put Logic on that computer too. I just updated it to Snow Leopard so that I could access the App Store.
Logic Pro shows up in the purchases tab on the laptop, but when I click install, the install button just goes white for a few seconds, then back to grey.
If I click on the App itself it says "The item you've requested is not currently available in the Australian Store." Only thing is I tested out downloading it onto my wife's new laptop only 2 weeks ago. Has it been removed from the App Store forever in that short little window? Quite annoying if I've missed the boat by such a short amount of time. If that is the case, is there any other way of transferring the app from one computer to another?

No.. its still available on the Aus App Store.... I was just speaking with a client of mine in Geelong and he successfully downloaded it under the Purchase tab last Saturday so....

If you click on the actual Logic Pro 9 icon you will get the message you saw because LP9 isnt available to purchase on the App Store any longer... so only click on the install button to the far right of the Logic Pro 9 entry under the Purchase Tab...
Failing this... contact Aple directly as it is possible they will need to reset your Mac App Store account for it to work correctly (as has been needed in the past when this has occurred.)

If you look at the feed, and look at the entry 'The end to an exciting field season in Aulavik National Park' you will see the line:

You have not closed the 'pubdate' tag - there should be a '>' as the 9th character. Because the tag has been left open, it invalidates everything which follows it, and thus the entire feed. iTunes therefore cannot read it, which is why the Store has not updated. Add the '>' and republish, and all should be well.
It's always worth checking your feed by subscribing manually, from the 'Advanced' menu, or by clicking the 'subscribe free' button on the Store page (both do the same thing) - if you can subscribe to the feed it should be OK.

If you have set this phone up, then there would not necessarily be a solution here until you have been verify with the provider that everything is provisioned correctly on their end. Since the 3G comes from your cellular provider, if the settings are correct on the phone, then you should work with the carrier next.

No resolution to the access problem today 4/21/11. Do I reinstall 3.6 & delete 4.0? I understand this access problem is common to 4.0 users.

I did some additional testing through Proxy 4. All web sites and web pages including secure sites that I tried accessing over the past couple of days all appear to work fine with the exception of the forementioned sites. Access to these specific web pages (which I cannot currently access) are part of our day-to-day business requirements, and therefore will prevent me from using Proxy version 4.0 as our production proxy unless I can figure out why these web pages won't load, and how to fix the problem.
As an experiment, I tried to access these web pages through Proxy 4 with Mozilla FireFox and Netscape 7. None of these web browsers (including Internet Explorer) will bring up these web pages when going through Proxy 4. But bypassing the proxy or going through our v3.6 proxy works fine for these web pages everytime, and with all browsers. This leads me to believe that this web page access problem is not a browser specific problem, but something in Proxy 4 isn't processing the request to display the page properly.
As a reference, the web site in question is http://www.sunlife.ca. On the left hand side of the page go to "Sign In" then "Plan Members". Thats where the request hangs through Proxy 4 no matter which browser I use, including Netscape... but works perfectly fine with Proxy v3.6.
Can someone who is running a version 4 Proxy also please try to access the SunLife Members login page and see if it works or fails for you?

I upgraded to Mavericks; Can't access Premiere Pro CC

I suppose, in the middle of a project, I got a little excited when Apple released Mavericks and upgraded straight away without prior thought to the possible interuptions of workflow.
I can't open Premiere since I've upgraded to Mavericks. I downloaded the 7.0.1 update today, I thought this would rectify my situtation - unfortunetly not. After reading other posts I uninstalled the application and reinstalled - did nothing. It's still the same issue. It worked perfectly before I upgraded, I'm in the middle of a project.
I really need to have it finished by Thursday.
I've tried accessing the program via other applications. I can't access After Effects or Prelude either. I don't use these as much as Premiere but, as it stands.. I'm paying for an almost void set of tools. I know it's a bug and it'll get fixed in time.. but this is urgent!
Everytime I open the application, I get the splash page and then an error report.

I don't know if this will help anyone but I have finally got it running. Adobe support was only sending me another tiny step to try every 36 hours or so -- I've lost a whole week trying to sort this out.
I had reinstalled the application many times by using the Uninstall application in the Premiere Pro folder in Applications (and then installing it through Creative Cloud in the menu bar). This gave an option to remove preferences, so I believed it was doing a clean install.
Adobe's advice was to run disk preferences and repair permissions, and enable the root user and uninstall/reinstall the programme. None of that helped. But while waiting to hear back from Adobe I decided to scour my /Library and ~/Library folder for any trace of Premiere Pro. I removed a number of old files related to older versions of Premiere and that seems to have solved the problem.
I don't know exactly which step solved the issue, or even whether it will keep running, but I have set my region back to the UK and I seem able to run the software again.
