Can't add tasks to Sharepoint 2013 Timeline

We have a Sharepoint 2013 site with Project functionality enabled, although all data has been manually entered. There is a list of tasks and sub-tasks, but we can't add them to the timeline. The option is there, but clicking it for any task does nothing.
The tasks have start and end dates.

Try this:

    How can you reassign a workflow task in SharePoint 2013 (online)? I found some discussions online about how to do this, but I don't see this option using SP2013. Note the "Reassignment" checkbox from this screenshot (which I think is from 2010).

    Hi,
    To run PowerShell Script as scheduled task in SharePoint 2013, you can take the demo below for a try:

  • How to create recurring task in SharePoint 2013?

    "What's changed in SharePoint Designer 2013"
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj728659.aspx
    Here is some of the explanation:
    Description of the change. Some features of the SharePoint 2010 Workflow platform that are dependent on Windows Workflow Foundation 3.0 are deprecated in SharePoint 2013.
    Reason for the change.SharePoint 2013 introduces a new SharePoint 2013 Workflow platform that is built upon Windows Workflow Foundation 4.0 and that is integrated with Workflow Manager 1.0.
    Migration path. In SharePoint Designer 2013, you can still create a SharePoint 2010 Workflow and use all of the SharePoint 2010 Workflow features by choosing the SharePoint 2010 Workflow platform.
    You can also integrate features from the SharePoint 2010 Workflow platform into the new SharePoint 2013 Workflow platform. To do this, create a SharePoint 2010 Workflow by choosing the SharePoint 2010 Workflow platform; create a SharePoint 2013 Workflow by
    choosing the SharePoint 2013 Workflow platform; and then use the Start a list workflow and Start a site workflow actions in the SharePoint 2013 Workflow to call the SharePoint 2010 Workflow.

  • Difference between Reporting Services Sharepoint Mode and Reporting Services Add In for Sharepoint 2013

    Hi, We are building company site with Sharepoint 2013 Enterprise Edition and were wondering what is the difference between Reporting Services Sharepoint Mode and Reporting Services Add In for Sharepoint 2013? What are the roles/purposes of each one? What
    happens if only Reporting Services Sharepoint Mode  installed or vise versa.
    Thank you in advance

    Reporting Services in SharePoint mode is a service for displaying, managing, and creating SSRS reports within SharePoint. The addin is a pre-req for SharePoint that is used to display reports and is required for Reporting Services in Native or SharePoint
    mode, but does not by itself do anything.

  • Add button to SharePoint 2013 form with InfoPath and/or SharePoint designer

    Since I am new to working with Sharepoint 2013, I have the following questions to ask you about Infopath 2013 and possibly SharePoint Desinger 2013:
    1. Yesterday I created a custom list in my 'test area of SharePoint' and opened the list in Infopath 2013 to see what the form would look like. Now I have alot more columns and edits to add to the list. I am planning to add more columns to the list when
    I am in my 'test area' and then make cosmetic changes to the form using Infopath 2013. I am thinking that if I continue this way, I may lose some ediut changes I have made using Infopath 2013. Thus can you tell me the best way to add more columns to the list
    and/or modify the existing columns and not lose the edit changes that I made using Infopath 2013?
    2. The infopath 2013 form does not contain any buttons to click. I need a button to show up for every user to click so that a workflow can be started. Do I need some kind of a task list(action)? Thus can you tell me how to add this type of a button to the
    form?

    Wendy, Please go through this video from
    channel 9 (http://channel9.msdn.com/Blogs/NickDallett/InfoPath-2010-Customize-a-SharePoint-List-Form)  which will uilding froom explain similar form building from scratch.
    As per Peter's replay yes you can update form even after add columns in list and you can add extar control like button to your infopath form.
    Workflows are usually started when creating or updating an item inside a SharePoint document library.
    Open the workflow in SharePoint Designer and under "Start Options' on the workflow's home page, remove the check from "Start workflow manually...". Be sure the check either "Start on create..." or "Start on change...". In
    your case I think you would use "Start on create...".
    Hope these inputs will help

  • How can anyone add to a SharePoint list but only some can edit all fields?

    My office has a list on our SharePoint for product requests. We were trying to make it so that the "+Add Item" link was available to all who want to request a map but only specific fields such as Name or Description would be editable on their
    end. Once the item is in the system, the SharePoint admins in our office could update things like Status or Analyst. However, after talking to the individual in charge of our SharePoint permissions told us that we cannot set this basic ability to "everybody"
    and instead need to create a special group with limited permissions. Unforunately we have high-turnover between our office and other locations and see this causing a problem in the near future. Is there a work around such as creating a web app or form that
    will push the necessary data into the SharePoint list or maybe just send it via email to designated recipients in our office to process it?

    I do not see any simple solutions here.  You have various options, each with different limitations and each will require some effort to implement.  Mix and match as best meets your needs:
    Create a standard list as usual*. In the lists's Advanced settings, in the Item-Level Permissions group, select the options Read all items and Create items and edit items that were created by the user.  This approach lets users create their own items
    and edit them, and they can still view other's, but they cannot edit other's.  Note: some list templates do not provide the Item-Level Permissions group of settings.
    Create a custom permissions level: copy it from Contribute.  Remove all of the Edit and Delete list permissions.  This approach lets your users create new and view existing entries, but not delete or edit them.
    Configure Incoming Email, and email-enable the target list.  You can configure the list to accept email according to the permissions that person has with respect to the list.  Thus, for example, a person with Contribute permission level would
    be able to send email to the list but a person with Read permission level would not.
    Create the list.  This will also create default New, Edit and View forms.  Customize the New form in SharePoint Designer 2013 so as not to display the fields you do not wish the user to edit.
    Create new site fields and content types: create one content type that displays only a few of these new fields and the other that displays all of them.  Add these to the list.  Configure a custom content type as the default for the list that displays
    only a few fields.  Users will see this content type when they create a new entry.  Edit the New list form to display only this content type.  Edit the View list form to display only this content type.

  • AS3.0: Can't add child and access subchildren timelines?

    I have the following code:
    var myParent:Parent = new Parent();
    var mySymbol_01:Symbol01 = new Symbol01();
    var mySymbol_02:Symbol02 = new Symbol02();
    myParent.x=100;
    myParent.y=100;
    addChild(myParent);
    myParent.gotoAndStop(1);
    button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, buttonPressed);
    function buttonPressed(e:Event):void{
    removeChild(myParent);
    playCopy();
    function playCopy():void{
    addChild(myParent);
    myParent.gotoAndPlay(2);
    myParent.x=100;
    myParent.y=100;
    //myParent.rects.width=200;
    //myParent.circ.width=300;
    If I take
    //myParent.rects.width=200;
    //myParent.circ.width=300;
    and remove the comments, the file breaks and no Movie Clips appear on the stage.  Does this have to do with casting the Children as Movie Clips, which I may not have done here?

    No error codes Ned, it just adds the Child at the last frame in the timeline which happens to be frame 60 (I have a
    n animation in the y direction just for kicks to see if I can get the animation to play and have the object move down
    ward vertically but it just "pops" into place without any animation.
    And no, it's not a sound animation.

  • Can I add a favorite from my timeline

    I have dragged all my Favorites into the timeline instead of marking them as favorites in my event folder, so I was wondering if I could somehow mark them as favorites just in case i want to change my edit later?

    When you add clips to the timeline they are copied, NOT linked, from your event. So basically you can just go back to your event and mark those clips as favorites in there, after the fact.

    Environment: Windows Server 2008R2, SQL Server 2012, SharePoint 2013 Enterprise
    When I run the install for SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint it SHOULD install to c:\program files\common files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14 AND 15. Specifically it should drop a mess of ASPx pages for admin to the \templates\Admin\ReportServer
    folder. In this environment it only pushes them to the 14 folder and not the 15. Any ideas on why this would happen? I have not ever seen this before and it is hosing the install completely.

    Hi Gouranga,
    According to your description, when you install the SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint 2013, you find the files are installed into the folder for sharepoint 2010(..../14). Right?
    In Reporting Services, Not all features are supported in all combinations of report server, Reporting Services add-in for SharePoint, and SharePoint Products. Please see the linke below:
    Supported Combinations of SharePoint and Reporting Services Server and Add-in (SQL Server 2012)
    As you can see in the link, the SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services Add-in is only for Sharepoint 2010. This the reason why it's installed into the file for sharepoint 2010.
