Can't create a new user session with KDE

Hi,
when I select "Switch user" in KDE, and try to start a new user session, I get dropped to a lockscreen of the currently logged-in user. I first thought this was a KDM issue, but this still persists with SDDM. I'd post any relevant logs, but I'm not even sure where to look for the source of the problem now.

    You can look into the Oracle 8i Documentation and find various privillages listed.
    In particular, you may find:
    Chapter 27 Privileges, Roles, and Security Policies
    an intresting chapter.
    You may want to do this with the various tools included with 8i - including the
    Oracle DBA Studio - expand the Security node and you can create USERS and ROLES.
    Or use SQL*Plus. To create a
    user / password named John / Smith, you would login to SQL*Plus as System/manager (or other) and type in:
    Create user John identified by Smith;
    Grant CONNECT to John;
    Grant SELECT ANY TABLE to John;
    commit;
    There is much more you can do
    depending on your needs.

  • I can not create a new user account on eprint

    i can not create a new user account on eprint. I have been trying for over an hour and it repeats telling me that my email addresses are not entered correctly, however they match. ? 

    I have tried to create an account via ePrintCenter and it seems that the published application has several flaws in interpreting the provided input.
    1) In the Filed for last Name I enter my last name, which consist of only Alph Characters. The form however thinks that there is some sort of special character and rejects my Input.
    2) E-Mail address. is not identical; OK, so I do a quick OCR on the E-Mail and guess what they are identical. Again the form Fails to recognize this.
    3) Enter a password (2 Fields) and a third is displayed which is marked as "*required" but is not labeled as to what the required info could possibly be. Or is it a 3 password confirmation box, who knows.
    All I know is that a simple registration is a major pain with this HP site.
    Any Help as to how to alleviate this would of course be greatly appreciated.

    Several times in the last year, I've gotten a message that Time Machine needs to completely redo my backup. Using the wireless connection, this takes almost two days. Is there a way to do the backup with ethernet and then switch back to wireless? Thanks.

    May I know what is needed to make sure the MacBook is able to see Time Capsule on ethernet?
    Connect an Ethernet cable from one of the LAN <-> ports on the 2Wire gateway to the WAN port (circle of dots icon) on the Time Capsule.
    If AirPort Utility cannot "see" the Time Capsule now, you will need to perform a "hard reset" by holding in the reset button for 7-8 seconds or so and then reconfigure the Time Capsule. You can use the same Time Capsule name and password, etc. as before.
    Configure the Time Capsule to "Create a wireless network" and select the Bridge Mode option when it appears during the setup using AirPort Utility.
    Once the Time Capsule is configured, restart the entire network again. Power down everything, start the 2Wire first and then start each other device after that one at a time about a minute apart.
    Now you can connect your Mac directly to one of the LAN <-> ports on the Time Capsule for the backup using another Ethernet cable. In general, about 20-25 GB per hour will transfer.
    The Time Capsule will broadcast a much faster wireless network than the 2Wire can provide, so you might want to leave the setup "as is" for awhile after the first backup is complete. If you decide to use the Time Capsule as your main wireless access point, you would want to turn the wireless off on the 2Wire since two wireless networks in close proximity can create interference problems.
    Or, if you want to use the wireless on the 2Wire, you could turn off the wireless on the Time Capsule. Then backups will occur over the 2Wire wireless, or over Ethernet.
    I don't really recommend the "Join a wireless network" setting on the Time Capsule for most users, but you could go back to that setup as well if you want after the first backup is complete.

    We're using "Oracle SOA Suite 11g 11.1.1.7.0" (Patched w/ 17893896) mainly for a BPM/Human workflow composite. Former, we were having the error bellow:

    When that error ocurred, no one was able to use the system (BPM/Human Workflow).
    I opened an SR, and after some analysis from the support, it recommended me to set up "virtualize=true" in EM, and restarting the domain. Then it started logging the following:
    connection to ldap://[10.200.10.57]:7001 as cn=Admin.
    javax.naming.NamingException: No LDAP connection available to process request for DN: cn=Admin.
    Looking up on support KB, I found this note Doc ID 1545680.1 and increased from Max size of Connection Pool 10 to 200. That did work successfully! Problem now is that the <SERVER>_diagnostic.log is being filled up with the following error:

    One important point is that we're using only the embedded WLS ldap. So I am not 100% sure if we should be using the virtualize flag=true, once all docs I read point out that this should be done when using multi-ldap providers.
    Also, I only got this error in the "diagnostic.log".
    Although, no user has complained about using the system, I really want to work it out. Anyone has any suggestions?

    In SharePoint 2010 I created workflows that used the 'Create list Item' Action, which then set the Content Type ID (so I could create documents of various types in a document library). 
    We just switched to the SharePoint 2013 platform, and now the drop down for Content Type ID is blank in all of the workflows that are still using the SharePoint 2010 platform.  Is there any way to create a list item with specific content

    According to your description, my understanding is that you cannot create a new list item with a specific content type using SharePoint 2010 Platform Workflow.
    I tested the same scenario in my environment, and the Create List Item worked fine with the specific content type.
    How did you create the content type?
    Please check if the content type is added to the list/library the workflow associated with.

    I'm currently working on an BPEL based process. And i need to create an OCS user. So far I can create an user in the OID. But I cant find any documentation about given this user an email account,calendar and content function etc.
    Did anybody know if there are some OIDDAS Webservices? Or did anybody know how to do this using the Java APIs?

    I've been trying to create a new ePrint user since Saturday when I set up my printer. I think I've tried it 15 times now. All I ever get when submitting the form at:

    I saw an earlier thread where someone saying they were an HP employee said it was fixed. I tried it after that and it still doesn't work for me. This is really weak! I would like to use this feature, but if I can't do something as basic as signing in to use it, it makes me wonder who is using it at all...

    As reported by one Danish user, the problem was I was using Czech characters in the name, so now it works.
    Apparently somewhere along the chain between the web and backend sides someone doesn't have an encoding set properly. In this day and age, with the ease of UTF-8 and Unicode, that's pretty lame...

    This is definitly possible. In my perspective
    it consist out of two steps: customing your login-screen and making a procedure which adds an new user to portal.
    The customizing of the login screen is only a extra call to the new procedure.
    The procedure is a bit more diffcult, you have to make an user and add rights to him.
    I already have a document containing the way to customize a loginscreen.
    I also have a sql-package wich adds an user to portal(from outside portal), but the description and inline documentation are in dutch. So I have to do some work on that.

    Google chrome has crashed on my mac pro and i can not get it back working. i have created new user account and chrome is working in it. i now want to transfer all my files and settings to the new user account, not just the files but if possible an identical copy of how my original user profile was set out.     While logged into the troubleshooting account (assuming that it's an admin account—if not create a new one and log into it), backup the bad account's folder, delete the bad account, selecting the save data option (which is stored in /Users/Deleted Users/ as a disk image), recreate the bad account using the same username/password combo, log out and back into the recreated original account. If the problem's solved, open the saved data dmg file in /Users/Deleted Users/, open the /Library/Preferences/ folder from the saved data, open the current /Users/restored account/Library/Preferences/ folder, and slowly copy plist files from the saved data folder to the current one that don't exist in it. Log out and back in to ensure there's no conflict and things still work correctly. Resolving conflicts or identifying corrupt plist files is a laborious process. Good luck.
