Can't delete files from iTunes File Sharing

iPad, IOS 8.1.3
MacBook Pro Retina, OS 10.10.2
iTunes, v12.1
I'm trying to delete files from iTunes. In this instance, I have files I made in Pages, via my iPad, I have learned how to move them to my computer without using iCloud, which I prefer. Now I can't get them off of the iTunes app on my computer.
I have deleted them from my iPad and from my computer but they are still in the iTunes app on my computer. To see these one must plug the iPad into the computer. When iTunes, on the computer, opens, choose Apps from the side bar, (under settings), scroll down to File Sharing, pick the app, in this case Pages and there is a list of all the files, (docs), still on the computer, within iTunes.
If i drag one of the files to the desk top on my computer and clic on it it will open. This is true for any of the apps under File Sharing.
This seems very insecure to me and it also appears to take up space on my iPad.
Anyone know how to get rid of these files?

Hi,
I had an orhpanded link to a networkshare which does not exist anymore. With the "cmd" key pressed down I was able to dump the favorite to the trash.
Thank you.
Cheers
Robert

How Can I Delete Albums From iTunes Without It Deleting Them From My iPod classic 160GB?

    Hi, welcome to Apple Discussions.
I assume you've already consisdered manually managing your iPod's contents and rejected that idea.
I wouldn't recommend it as a solution, but if you delete the files for the albums leaving the entries in the iTunes library you can carry on syncing normally. iTunes will complain that it can't sync the missing files but it won't remove the copies from your iPod. Once you're happy with how things work you can can choose to suppress the error message.
While handy as a temporary workaround if space is an issue then it's probably time to look at moving your whole library to a bigger drive.

  • How can I delete albums from itunes match

Can you tell me or do you know how I can delete albums from iTunes match please

    I've got a similar problem.
I know the way how to delete but it didn't work.
When I delete a song with setting the "delete this song from iCloud" option, it seems to be deleted but after syncing it still exist!
    For example:
Before deleting I've got 761 songs in Match
I delete 10 songs with "Also delete this song from iCloud", empty the trash can and start match sync
After 2 Minutes iTunes Match told me, there are 761 songs available - nothing will be deleted at iTunes Match

  • HT201274 how can i delete everything from itunes

how can i delete everything from itunes

How can I delete everything from my Time Capsule?
Disk Utility would be used for an internal hard drive on your Mac, or for a drive that was attached directly using USB or FireWire.
The Time Capsule is a network drive. Disk Utility cannot be used for this type of drive.
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utiltiies > AirPort Utility
    Click Manual Setup
    Click the Disks icon
Click the Disks tab below the icon
    Click Erase
The "Quick Erase" option will only take a minute or so. This would be fine if you plan to keep the Time Capsule yourself.
If you plan to sell the Time Capsule, you would want to use a more secure erase, like "Zero Out", which will likely take 4-6 hours or so since everything on the drive will be replaced with zeros.

  • Can't delete movie from itunes

    hey guys,
ok so i ripped a movie using handbrake, shawshank redemption in case you were wondering, and something didn't happen quite right. i put the ripped movie into itunes, but it won't play, i can't delete it, i can't put it on my ipod, in fact every time i click on the file in itunes, itunes quits. i've used handbrake to rip a lot of other movies for my ipod and have never had this happen, any suggestions of how to get rid of the file in itunes???
    thanks in advance

the ripped file was 1.5gig but thats not the file thats the problem. once i brought the ripped file into itunes i then had to "convert selection for ipod" its the converted file that keeps closing down itunes. so to answer your question i assume the converted file is less than 1.5gig but i can't check to be sure because when i try to "get info" itunes closes. any suggestions?

  • Help, can't delete song from iTunes on my iPad mini.Swiping doesn't work

When I swipe a song to delete from iTunes on my iPad mini, nothing happens. How do I get these songs off?

How do the songs show in the Music app ? If they have the cloud icon against them then they are in the cloud - you can turn off the showing of cloud music via Settings > iTunes & App Store > Music (under 'show all') 'off'
If they don't have the cloud icon then are you swiping/dragging across the songs from right-to-left - that should reveal a Delete button to the song's right.
Or if you have iOS 8 you should be able to delete songs / albums / artists (or all music)via Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage (under the 'storage' heading) > Music, you should have an Edit button at the top right of that screen.

  • Can't delete applications from itunes or iphone.

I have bought and downloaded free apps, from itunes, and can't delete them. Now I was able to remove them from itunes, but they are still showing up on my iphone. What am I doing wrong, or what do I need to do?

Press any icon of any app you want to delete from your phone, keep pressing until all the icons start to wiggle, an X will appear on the icon, tap the X and the app will be deleted. Press the home button to stop the icons from wiggling, when done.

  • Can't delete photos from iTunes synch on phone

Is this a normal thing on an iPhone 4S that I cannot find the bin icon to delete photos or photo folder that was synched from my laptop? I have to delete the folder from iTunes and then synch the phone again. I keep looking for the bin icon on each photo or on the folder on the phone but I cannot find it. I went to edit and couldn't find any delete function.

Photos synced to iphone from your computer are deleted the same way - the sync process.
The iphone simply mirrors the selected content of your computer.  It does not act as a storage device.

  • Can't delete music from iTunes Match

    Hi All,
I'm having trouble deleting Music from the iTunes Match, I have followed this guide iTunes Store: How to delete songs from iCloud - Apple Support with no luck.
    I'm using iTunes version 12.0.1.26.
After I delete all my music, all the music is still visible on my iPhone... I've tried to click the update iTunes Match option and all the music appears in my library in iTunes again.
    I have tried:
    Signing out and in again.
Turning iTunes Match off and on again.
Deleting the iTunes library folder and adding a new one.
    Clearing the cache.
De-authorising all devices and re-authorising them.
    Anyone got any ideas?

I mean mark as deleted... It seems to have sorted it's self out now.

  • Can't delete spreadsheets from iTunes

Using Numbers: I've imported (and exported) several spreadsheets from Excel on my Mac to my iPad via iTunes. I've worked on them on my iPad, and exported them back to my Mac. So far, so good.
But, when I delete a spreadsheet from Numbers it goes away from Numbers (My Spreadsheets no longer shows it) but it still shows up in the iTunes iPad sync window. I assume the "deleted" spreadsheets are still on the iPad, but I can't figure out how to get rid of them.
    Please help.

With your iPad connected to iTunes, click Apps then select the file you want to delete in the File Sharing section, press the delete key & click the blue Delete button.

  • How can I delete songs from iTunes but keep them on my phone?

I want to delete songs off of my computr because it's taking up unnecessary space, but how can I do this without them being removed from my iPhone when I sync it next?

    Foxolini wrote:

As given, removing from the library causes the songs to be removed during sync. So the space taken up is neccessary... What would you do if your iPhone where lost, stolen, damaged or needed to be restored?
If you ned more room for storage buy a bigger drive. In fact buy two, one to use as a backup for your library and all your other important files.

  • I used my friends itunes account to get some of her music, but now I want to delete some from my phome, but I don't know how, and I can only delete songs from itunes but all the songs are on her's so I can't. What do I do?!!!?

    Please help me with this!?

That is what you get when you pirate music.
You are probably going to have reset your iPhone to factory default which wipe out evrything. After that restore from the backup on your computer.
