Can't Delete Images

Hi all... Hope I am in the corrrect forum... new here
In the past week or so I have not been able to delete some images PSD and/or .jpg. from my files ??? I have tried to do this in Bridge, CS5 and My Pictures, when I try I get a popup per the image below. I click the 'Try Again' button many times without success. I don't understand why it can't find the image, I have not moved or altered it I have looked in other areas and can't find it, tried drag/drop into the Recycle Bin, it won't go. I have changed nothing in Preferances in a long time.
Any suggestions please..... Thanks, Brownie

I agree, it's a poor implementation of a questionable concept.
I've found a way not so much to "permanently disable", but to eliminate Libraries from display in Explorer's Navigation pane, which goes a long way to promoting just using the hard drive folders.  From time to time Windows still HAS to put up a Library display, for example when Explorer is displaying Windows Search results.  Fortunately in most normal operation Libraries can be completely avoided.
Here's how to keep Libraries from cluttering up the Navigation pane...  Change this registry value:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{031E4825-7B94-4dc3-B131-E946B44C8DD5}\ShellFolder]
Attributes                     REG_DWORD     0xb090010d
If you should want to restore Libraries to its default setting (i.e., so it shows in Explorer):
Attributes                     REG_DWORD     0xb080010d
This is the result of using the first Attributes value abobe:
FYI, to define a shortcut that will start an Explorer window on the root of your hard drive, do this:
Lastly, this may also help some.  I use this setting...
Ensure Library features don't try to use Indexing:
Click Start and type gpedit.msc into the search box and hit Enter. **
In the Local Group Policy Editor, navigate to User Configuration – Administrative Templates – Windows Components – Windows Explorer.
Enable setting Turn off Windows Libraries features that rely on indexed file data.
** If you do not have the Group Policy Editor in your variant of Windows, instead of the above steps 1 - 3 make a new DWORD value in your registry:
     [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer]
     DisableIndexedLibraryExperience     REG_DWORD     0x00000001

  • How can i delete images from iPhoto?

I can not delete images from iphoto. When I try to move pictures to the trash they do not move, and if I try to delete them by pressing "right click> Trash" they do not move! pretty much the only way I can delete pictures from iphoto is to delete the library.
Can anyone help me? I'm about to permanently delete iphoto from my macbook pro.
    it is nerve-wracking!

Where are you trying to move these photos from?  The following are the key combinations for moving from different entities in the library:
Deleting Photos from an iPhoto Library:
1 - from the Event or Photos mode: select the photo(s) and use the Delete key to move the photos to the trash bin. Then empty the iPhoto Trash bin as follows:
2 - from an album, smart album, book, slideshow, card, etc: select the photo(s) and use the key combination of Command+Option+Delete to move the photos to the trash bin.  Then empty the trash bin as above.
If none of the above work try this:  launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If the problem persists in the new library make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

  • Can't delete images when importing from camera

I use Nikon Transfer to import images from my digital cameras but now I can't delete the images from the card once transferred. I've also tried Image capture but Delte is greyed out. It seems like a Permissions thing but I'm not sure how to check.
    thanks

What he says is +"you want the image being shown to be exactly sized to your screen. Images from almost all modern cameras are much larger in pixel dimensions than your Mac's display, so they will be interpolated down to fit. When they are resized on the fly through interpolation they never look as crisp or pristine."+
The title of the piece is +"Resize Images for iPhoto Slideshows".+ He is talking about you resizing photos before you import so they will match the screen size during the display of a slide show on the screen - not iPhoto changing anything during the import of the photo but during the display of it - This is a bit like the cropping during printing questions - if you want to control exactly have is being shown (or printed) rather than use a generalized scheme to make photos fit a non native size then you much do the changes yourself
I'm sure that he is correct but since I use iPhoto as a photo library manager which lets me show quick and easy slideshows, I have no problem - *my original, unaltered photos are there in iPhoto* and available for use as I see fit - the degree of modification that takes place in the display of a slideshow has never even been noticeable to me - but then I do not see iPhoto as a single purpose slide show viewer - in fact that is a very minor feature for me

  • Can not delete images

Hi everyone! I am so excited with LR 4 beta release!
However, I am stumped, I can not delete any of my images, either one at a time or multiples. They wont delete in the Library or Develope module. I tried right clicking and selecting delete photos, and also tried using delete button. It says: "Can not send to recycle bin."
Second, LR4 is not recognizing Panasonic Lumix LX3 images.   Do I have to convert them to DNG files?
    I am running Win 7/ 64 bit/ 12 GB RAM/ Core i7 (not that this matters)
    Thanks all -!
    Kim

in LR4, I can not import my RW2, and I don't remember if I coverted to DNG over in LR3 or was able to import as RW2, I know at one time I HAD to convert as DNG when I first got my camera..
I didn't keyword them so I need to go hunt some down or just try and reimport a few of the RW2 that wouldn't import into LR4. Too tired to try and figure out right now.
    thanks for responding.

  • Can you delete images from both the Library and backup folders at the same time?

Is there a way to delete images from the Lightroom Library module and also have it delete the corresponding file in the backup folder?

Consider using a regular backup program, or plugin like TreeSyncPublisher which will assure backups are deleted along with sources.
If you really want no junk in Lr's 2nd copy storage, then delete everything there (or maybe just the older stuff), after making such "true" (synchronizing) backups.

  • Unable to delete images in Bridge

I am running windows 7 64 bit and CS5. I seem to have a problem in that I can't delete images from Bridge. I open up the folder and when I try to delete the image it asks "do you want to delete this image" I click yes and it jumps to the next image without deleting the original image.
I had this problem once before and read on here about "permissions" at that time I rectified the problem. Not this time though.
I have been into my computer, unchecked the read only boxes, checked in the security tab that all users have full permissions and still no joy!  Can anyone suggest what else I can do? I did read also on here in a past post about "running as administator" not sure what this is and how to find it.
    Your help would be appreciated.
    Many thanks

If you are running an external dirve one can see more permission problems.  In that case shut Bridge then right click on icon and choose "run as administrator".
    Hope this helps.

  • I have deleted images out an email body and foxfire deleded all inages.nothing will come through with the emails. How can I get my pictures back?

There was something in the body of my email and I right clicked on it and clicked on delete image. Foxfire opened a white bar across the top of my screen saying that "Foxfire would delete all of aol 's images and before I realized I could click the undo spot it was gone. I want to know how I can undo this Please.>>>>I can't get any pictures through aol my mail. Thanks

    See:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Images_or_animations_do_not_load
    * You can see the permissions for the domain in the current tab in Tools > Page Info > Permissions
    * You can see all exceptions in Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions
    * You can check the Tools > Page Info > Media tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images)
You can use these steps to check if images are blocked:
    * Open the web page that has the images missing in a browser tab.
    * Click the website favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
    * Click the "More Information" button to open the "Page Info" window with the Security tab selected (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
    * Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
    * Select the first image link and scroll down through the list with the Down arrow key.
    * If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

  • How can I delete all my contact card "custom images"?

    Hi,
My contact images have been (mysteriously) randomly mixed... I just can't delete them one by one because there are hundreds and hundreds of them.
How can I delete them all?
This situation is also verified in my iCloud contacts, which is obvious since my computer, iPhone, iPad and iCloud are all synced together.
    Thanks in advance!

Go to SETTINGS, then ACCOUNTS AND SYNC select facebook and uncheck sync contacts and then do the same for yahoo.
back up contacts w/ backup assistant that is under accounts and sync.
then go back to SETTINGS then APPLICATIONS then MANAGER APPLICATIONS then ALL select PEOPLE then clear data. this will erase your contacts so make sure you have it backed up.
then go to SETTINGS then ACCOUNTS and SYNC then backup assistant and sync now and this should put all your contacts back on your phone without being relinked to facebook or yahoo at least i remember it being something like this when i was trying to get rid of facebook being linked to my contacts on my Tbolt.

  • Can I delete all of the images in "All Images" without losing any originals?

Can I delete all of the images in "All Images" without losing any original photos? Thank you.

Simply: iPhoto is a database. Like all databases it requires that you manipulat the data via the tools provided and not through backdoors. If you delete matter managed by iPhoto (or for that matter, any database) through some other means then the database will be unaware of the deletions. The database will not reflect the changes and you'll have significant issues going forward with iPhoto.
So, to be really, really clear: if you delete Photos managed by iPhoto via the All Images search you will corrupt your Library.
It's your computer, your images and your iPhoto. You have the information, you decide how to use it.

  • How can I delete an image that is being repeated as a heading on a second page of a document?

I have a pages document that has a formal heading with a logo, and on the second page, it automatically repeated, so I was hoping that someone had some insight on how to stop the repeated logo, because I only want it on the first page. When I try to delete it from the second page, it deletes it from the first page as well. Please and thank you for your help!

About… is always under the thing it is about.
So for Pages it is under the Pages menu.
In Pages 5.1 you can not insert images into the Header, so I assume you have put it in the Section Master.
click at the end of the first page text > Menu > Insert > Section Break
Then delete the logo in the subsequent section/s. Section Master objects repeat for every page of the section they are in. As the name suggests.

  • What is All Images in Finder for? Pictures from email show up there, sometimes 12 of the same picture. Can I delete them?

Can I delete the thousand pictures in All Images that show up there w/o doing any harm?

You shouldn't be able to see those folders if you don't know what they are! Be sure to turn off invisible files in Terminal.app by pasting this command
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles -bool false; killall Finder
    Press 'return'.

  • Image Capture can't delete items on iPhone, shows 'locked' graphic

I can't seem to press the 'delete' button or use the delete key in Image Capture. When selecting the images, it remains greyed-out. There is also a 'lock' image next to all the files. How can I delete these?

I had this problem, too. What worked for me was going into Settings > iCloud > Photos on my iPhone, and turning off iCloud Photo Library.

  • Can't delete photos using Image Capture

I just upgraded from an iPhone4 to 5s....all of a sudden I can't delete photos using Image Capture like I used to.  The "delete" menu item is grayed out.  The "delete after import" checkbox in the lower right is available, but I don't need to download all of these photos videos.  I poked around in the iPhone settings but didn't see anything which seems to control this.

Hey guys, I had the same problem on iOS 8.0.2, I couldn't delete any pictures from my Mac neither in Image Capture nor in iPhoto. I've just figured out how to resolve this. You have to disable iCloud Photo Library (Beta) under Settings > Photos & Camera. Since it seems to be an iOS 8 related issue, I'm not sure if I am referring to the same problem as in the original post but I thought I'll let you know anyway.
