i ve had my Ally less than week.......when i try to download files from internet i get error msg that download failed.....i tried to click link and hold link and choose save and still download fails........help me.......please

Try to Clear your Temporary Internet Files and Cookies. To delete your temporary internet files on the Lg Ally follow the directions below:
From the Home screen, touch the applications tab (bottom of the screen).
Touch Browser.
Press the Menu key.
Touch More
Touch Settings.
Touch Clear cache.
Some visited website content stored on the device. The cache enables the browser to download only the content that has changed since the last time a website was visited. Since the browser only downloads changed content, pages are loaded faster.
Touch OK.
Touch Clear history.
A listing of URLs (website addresses) that have been recently visited.
Touch OK.
Touch Clear all cookie data.
Some visited website content stored on the device. The cache enables the browser to download only the content that has changed since the last time a website was visited. Since the browser only downloads changed content, pages are loaded faster.
Touch OK.

I was able to download the trial from rarlab.com. What happens when you click on a download? You need to make sure you select to download the Mac version. The .exe files do not run on a Mac.

Can't download file from Gmail...

I have the latest version of Safari and now I can't download files from my Gmail...

Might be a cookies, cache, extensions, or plug-ins issue.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click: Remove All Website Data
Then delete the cache.
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that didn't help, from the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect: Allow plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

Cannot Download files from internet on my main account

I have had my macbook for about 3 months, and recently i havent been able to download files from the internet on my main account...i have had to switch between accounts. Is there anyway to fix this? Or to transfer all my files from one account to another? any help would be greatly appreciated

Any error messages? What happens when you try to download an item? Have you tried downloading to a specific, non-desktop, folder?

Downloaded file from internet and now I can't find it

So my dumb *** downloaded a file from the internet today from an untrusted source and now I can't find it anywhere except for when I click on the downloads button on the safari web browser (i.e. )
I clicked on the file it shows that I downloaded and this pops up
"Safari can’t show the file “4-More-PeopleAreUsingCellPhonestoListentoOnlineRadioinTheirCars.xlsx” in the Finder because “4-More-PeopleAreUsingCellPhonestoListentoOnlineRadioinTheirCars.xlsx” has moved since you downloaded it."
I looked for it in the finder window under the "downloads" folder, looked under "All my files" sorted it by the date added, clicked on the magnifying glass next to the only place I can see it and the file still didnt show up in finder.
help, anyone?

I have no idea why it disappeared from your Mac. But I trust this reassures you there does not seem to be anything malicious about the file.
You might want to search on your Mac using some of the key words in the file.
Not that I am denying the results but out of curiousity how did you manage to download and locate the file when I didn't provide you with the website from which I downloaded it from?
The thing is, what I supposedly downloaded wasn't supposed to be an xlsx file nor any type of text file for that matter. I got it from a website called ryushare.com.
I also tried to search for it with the use of the key words in the file you found and no luck. Any way to know for a fact it's not going to affect my computer? Also, any way I can look for the file and delete it through terminal?

Can't download file from Rapidshare host on Safari!!!???

I've been tried many times to download a file from Rapidshare host but it doesn't work. after waiting for about a minute and click on the download, the download integrated startup and seem to be searching file, but suddenly it fails and Safari automatically shut down and a pop up appears ask me to relaunch Safari. Besides, i did install igetter and integrated which safari but i still can't download from igetter. i wonder what is the problem with my safari. is that because i installed igetter and they are conflict or something else is happening. i wonder can i just disable download function of safari and use the download manager only. or can anyone tell me how to fix the problem of download from the safari.? thank a lot. dummy Macer.

I just copy and paste whatever in the report. it is a bit long. But I wonder my SD is 5.1.12 version. It is compatible with safari 4. how come is it not compatible with 10.5.6??

Makepkg: curl can't download files from FTP servers but wget works

I've installed Archlinux in a VMware workstation. When I try to build a package which wants to download it's source files from a FTP server (eg. Eagle) curl fails to download the file with the following error message:

When I replace curl with wget in makepkg.conf and then try to build the package wget successfully downloads the file.
Can anybody tell me if there is a bug in curl or how to find out why curl isn't able to download from FTP?

I cannot connect direct to the internet from hte epub programme.
Using playbook connected by wifi connection. Went to Gutenburg site. Selected an epub book and pressed download. This was put into the download directory. Opened epub reader and went to 'Select books', opened 'Downloads' folder and the epub book from Gutneburg was there. Selected and installed into the Library.

Can't download file from bank. Error safari cant download qif

I am trying to find a bank program that let's me run a budget and check register. I am trying to download a qif file to import my bank information but I get an errorbthat says safari can not download that type of file

Just a theory but I think it holds some water, you can't download the file because you don't have an app that will let you save the file to on the iPad. I think that makes sense. I just downloaded a .qif from my bank site as a test and I was able to open the file in DropBox - not in any useful way - but I was able to save the downloaded file. My point is that if you choose one the apps the Dah-Veed has suggested to you, then you should be able to download the file if they work with the .qif format and I will trust Dah-Veed on that point.
If there is no app that can handle the file on your iPad, you more than likely cannot download the file and that's why you get the message. You are "putting the cart before the horse" by trying to download the file.

How to get the functionality of downloading files from internet on my jsp

i have a jsp page that lists me the names of the zip files in a paricular directory on a remote computer over the network.wat i want to do is download those files.so when i click on them it gives me "page cannot be displayed" error.but when i go to that remote machine and run the same jsp to list me the files and download the same it allows me to download the files.but i want the same functionality over the network.so i think that that link is looking for that file locally instead of looking for them over the network.so is it so that i need to give the ip of the remote machine from where i want to download the file and if yes then how and if no then is there any way that i can do it some other way.
in short this functionality is like downloading some file from the net like downloading software or music....i want to incorporate the same on my jsp.please guide me.

Downloading files from Internet

Hi,
Can Someone Help me With This Problem ....
I have an Application that gives the User an option to download content from a given url address : eg www.yahoo.com
(This refers the yahoo home page);
It should be able to download the html source code, images, sound files or any file that is been used in that url address. So I can recreate the complete html page to show the user the web page that was downloaded.
I used a file InputStreamReader to download the html source code.
But I have no idea on how to download the files that html page is using
image files and sound files etc etc.
Can Anyone Tell Me how ............

You will need to parse the html file looking for
<a> tags and find the value of the href attribute.
You will then have to decide if it is an absolute or relative path, and
build the appropriate new url request.

This isn't a particularly easy thing to do, as
(1)you may not know when to stop following links
(2)url's maybe servlets,etc, that will fetch html pages, which the local versions will need to be patched to point to the generated html files, not the servlet url.
