Can't download itunes on Windows 7

I can download and install other software, but when I attempt to download iTunes, I receive the 'where do you want to save the installer' dialog, and then nothing. No download, no installer, I just go straight to the 'Thank you for installing' page. I've tried it with AV turned off, I've attempted to use Firefox, Opera, and IE, all have the same result - no download.
I've also tried all the steps on the 'trouble downloading' page - as a result, I no longer have a working iTunes installation on any computer except my nano.
Is there anything else I might try? It seems as if it's likely to be some windows setting I've inadvertently switched, but I see nothing wrong.

Perhaps try downloading and saving a copy of the installer to a different PC. (If you're on a 32-bit Windows system, try to download on a different 32-bit Windows system.) Copy the iTunesSetup.exe installer to an external hard-drive, or a large-enough thumb drive or burn it to a CD-R. Carry the installer back to your PC, copy the installer to your hard drive. (Don't run the install from the ExHD, thumb or CD-R.) Start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe file.

can i download itunes for windows 2000

Not necessarily, you sort of can, but you'll need to get a REALLY old version of it, like maybe iTunes 4.1,
Really depends on the specs of your computer as well.
EDIT: actually, you can get iTunes 7.3.2 for windows 2000

  • Can't Download Itunes into Windows XP

I had an older version of Itunes on my computer which would not update. Message " server not found". Uninstalled Itunes, updated windows, cleaned registry, optimized disk, turned off firewall.
Downloaded Itunes 7.7.???, now Itunes fails on the boot up of the program. Tried downloading again, did the repair option. Still it fails on the bootup of Itunes.
Anybody got any helpful advice.... I am lost on any more options.
Thanking you in advance for your help.

  • Can't download itunes for windows

Every time I try to download itunes I get this error:
    +Could not open key:+
    HKeyLocalmachine/software/mozillaplugins/@Apple.com/itunes
+Verify that you have sufficient access to that key+
I can't figure out what to do next. I just got an ipod and haven't been able to use it yet. Any suggestions?

    +Could not open key:+
    HKeyLocalmachine/software/mozillaplugins/@Apple.com/itunes
That's an unusual key to be getting an error on.
Does your XP user account have administrative rights? If, so let's have a look at the permissions on that key.
Go "Start > Run", type regedit and hit enter.
    Expand HKEYLOCALMACHINE
    Expand SOFTWARE
    Expand MozillaPlugins
Right-click on the @apple.com/folder and select "Permissions".
Select your User Account name in the list.
Is there a check in the box under "Allow" next to "Full Control"?

  • TS3212 How can I download itunes with Windows 8?

Having trouble downloading itunes onto my laptop.  I have Windows 8 and it is not letting me download onto my laptop.  Whgat should I do?

At the very end, I get the message that I don't have "Apple Support Application".
With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • I can not download iTunes on Windows 7.

When I reach the page to select my computer and download iTunes the page looks like it hasn't loaded properly. When I try to enter my e-mail and click the download link (which also doesn't look like it loaded correctly) it just erases my e-mail and nothing happens. Any idea why?

There is no need to enter an email address.
    Simply click the download link.

  • HT1926 I can't download iTunes for windows 7 64-bit.

Says that my windows installer was not downloaded properly and that I should contact my system supervisor. I have redownloaded the windows installer and itunes still won't install. I don't know what to do and I have been trying to fix this problem for a while now. I contacted an itunes employee via phone and got little help. Has anyone else had this problem?
    Thank you!

Try to find the instalation file in the "Download" folder (when you open any folder, you can see it on the leftside menu), or simly make a serach for iTunes64setup.exe
    Hope this helps!

I have tried deleting and re-installing itunes and quicktime but it still won't work.  Please help.

Can someone please respond to my request for support?  I tried the provided correct answer at https://discussions.apple.com/message/11561783#11561783  but it did not work.
I also got a MSFT tech support person to remotely look at my machine, for what its worth, he said the registry file is fine and to contact Apple support.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

  • Can I download itunes with a Windows 8.1 operating system?

how can I download itunes for windows 8.1 operating system?

You can add a tile for iTunes to the start screen in Win 8.1 but it will still (and I suspect will for the indefinite future) run as a desktop application.  Metro apps are more like those on smartphones ... all Microsoft's major software products (Office, Visio, etc.) all run on the desktop even though the latest releases post-date Windows 8.
I can't see any motivation for Apple to change iTunes for as long as Microsoft continue to have desktop support in Windows (which, unless they want to alienate all their enterprise customers, they must do for at least the next decade).  Likewise support for Windows RT (which I suspect is dying, given that MS didn't release a Surface 3 in parallel with the Pro 3) or Windows Phone is going to be very low on Apple's priority list given the direct competition with iOS devices.

  • I can not download Itunes Windows7 I keep Getting Error2 Windows error2

I CAN NOT download itunes for windows 7 -I Have already removed all apple from my programs -I keep getting Error2 Windows Error 2 ---- Why do they do updates that SCREW up what I've already Had Since 2010 ?????????????????? HOW DO I FIX THIS ????

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR suitable for your PC (there's a 32-bit Windows version and a 64-bit Windows version):
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, see if iTunes will launch without the error now.
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)
