Can't download software update

I can't download updates for the iPad (4.3.5). Have latest version of iTunes (10.5). Have disabled both firewall and anti-virus (so please don't give that canned response). Sometimes it downloads for 30 or 40 seconds, then counts up to like 40 minutes remaining, and then throws an error. Sometimes it counts up and throws the error right away. The error is "There was a problem downloading the software... The network connection timed out." Had the same problem with the latest iPhone update. Took over 30 attempts to get it downloaded.
This problem cropped up when I reintalled Windows 7 64-bit on my machine, then installed iTunes (supposedely) 64-bit installation. No Internet problems. Can browse, download, stream music and video just fine. The only other problem I have had is that it took 3 or 4 tries to download iTunes 4.5 from Apple's website. Is this an Apple problem? Is my ISP to blame? Is there a way to manually download the update? Any help would be appreciated.

After traversing mentioned path on SAP Marketplace , you can see below software component.
SUM10SP02_10-20006676.SAR
When you add above compoenent to download basket it goes to Export section.
In order to review and process your request, please, contact SAP Export Department via customer ticket using component XX-SER-SWFL-EXPORT. As soon as your request has been approved you can download the files.
that means it requires SAP message to approve this compoenent from SAP , then only you are allowed to download.

Can't download software updates in iTunes - error message "network connection timed out"

I'm unable to download software updates for my iTouch 4.1 in iTunes. I have iTunes version 10.5, Windows 7. i've tried numerous times in the past and always get the same error message. I'm now experiencing problems with some of my apps. and I've attempted 4 times in the past 2 days to upload version 5.0. It goes thru the whole download (761.61 MB), says "processing file", then closes out and I get the following message:
"There was a problem downloading the software for the iPod "xxxxx's iPod". The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are current and your network connection is active or try again later. Err = .3529."
I ran diagnostics and it said everything was fine.
Also not all the apps. on my iTouch are in my iTunes library even though I've synced my iTouch numerous times since I've purchased the apps. with my iTouch. All the apps on my 2nd screen are on iTunes, but none of the apps. on my 3rd screen of my iTouch are in iTunes.

Did you check your security software settings? Troubleshooting security software issues
iTunes has to be able to contact Apple during the download of the software and the update process.

I'm looking for help with an issue that has plagued me for a while now. My 12" Powerbook can't upload files of any type and I have been unable to perform a software update for some time. The only software updates that work are for Firefox and they go on without a hitch. When I run the software update utility it says I need to check my network diagnostics; I do so and it says my network is working fine. This happens on every network I connect to and I have been unable to upload/attach files in emails or to my website for the same amount of time. My download speeds are unaffected. I have already double checked all my airport settings and tried things with an ethernet connection as well. DSLReports says that my upload speed/capability is still there. I also tried repairing my disk permissions as well.
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for your time.

Try deleting the SoftwareUpdate .plist file.
Go to /Library/Preferences and move the com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist file to the Trash. Restart your PBook.
If that doesn't help, how much free space is there on your PBook? Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure you always have a minimum of 10% to 15% free disk space at all times.
Do you have a third party software called PeerGuardian installed by chance or do you have anti virus software installed?

The Settings > General > Software Update option only appears when you have iOS 5+ installed, as your tagline indicates that your iPad is on iOS 4 then you will need to do the update via your computer's iTunes.
Connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases. You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand sidebar of iTunes and selecting 'Backup' (on iTunes 11 you can enable the left-hand sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC)
Then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand sidebar, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button

Does anybody knows why I can't download software updates neither apps in the app Store, It appears to be a Network error, does it have anything to do with TCP or UDP Ports?

Im a Spanish user, so this is the translation:

If the downloads are gone, it's possible that Windows is removing the downloads based on security policies set in IE. I realize that sounds strange, but it's related to Firefox's feature of submitting downloads to your virus scanner and marking them as having come from the internet.
To test this theory, you could try disabling the scan feature. I assume you have good "real time" antivirus protection which checks every file saved to your hard drive. (If not, you really should get that, and you can use Microsoft's free [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/security-essentials Microsoft Security Essentials] for now until you have time to review all the available choices.)

Disable anti virus software.
Turn off the Firewall in System Preferences > Security (or Security & Privacy) > Firewall
If that doesn't help, open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db
Click Go
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Now here:
~/Library/Preferences
Click Go
Move these files from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
com.apple.appstore.plist
com.apple.storeagent.pllist
Now here:
~/Library/Cookies
Click Go
Move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
Empty the Trash, try the App Store.

Updates are done through Software Update and are free downloads. Upgrades you have to purchase - NOT free. Therefore, you must purchase Snow Leopard - how can I purchase snow leopard is a good place to start.

Can I use 'software update' for another computer hook up via firewire?

My wife has a powerbook that has problems. I had to re-install the original software and back up her files. The problem is I can't get on the internet either hardwire or through airport. It says the password I am giving is incorrect. I have no problem getting on line with my ibook. You can manually download the updates and copy them via firewire to the other Mac. Once the updates are on the other Mac, you can run them from there.

No promises but a System Reset is worth trying:
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.
A System Reset does not remove any apps, music, movies, etc. nor does it cause any settings to revert back to default.
Also, you might wish to download the iPad-2 User Guide. Pay special attention to page 162. Note that this Guide also applies to the iPad-1 with IOS 4.3 except for those functions that are not supported by the hardware.
