Can't edit Roles

Hi,
There is very strange issue we are facing on the portal recently,
We are on EP 7.0 Patch 15. We observed that there is a small change in the sap standard view.
When we try to edit the roles that were created earlier and the new ones it doesn't allow us to edit them.
EDIT MODE button is in disable mode for all the roles.
Now If we select Trace Delta link from the dropdown box and then switch view then we can't edit any property for role. Its the same issue with worksets.
The user that we are using to modify developer created roles has super admin role assigned. So definately there is no issue with premission or end user rights.
Has anyone faced this issue? Any solution that can figured out?

Two threads in 2 diff forums to get much better views. Bottom Line none of the solutions have worked so far.
Yes we are on latest patch. SP 15. Yes we are accessing portal with FQDN from the very start.
Have also tried to access on various versions of IE 6.0, 7.0, 8.0 and on differents client systems to negate any scripts errors that might have cropped.
Much better explaination will be... I open an Role that has to be edited.
On the top the buttons SAVE, PREVIEW, EDITMODE are in disable mode. Only CLOSE & REFRESH are in enable mode.
In the Bottom we have these buttons UP, DOWN, DELETE, CUT, COPY, PASTE, EDIT, RESET NODE. These all are in a disable mode.
Only 2 buttons in Enable mode are New Folder and Refresh Node.
So as EDIT button is always in disable state for any role that has been created its not possible to make any modification to the properties.
If i switch view to Delta Link Tracer it opens only in read only mode.
POINTS TO BE NOTED.
Unlike the previous SP levels now the changes in the STANDARD Role Iview are
On the top You have a extra Button SWITCH VIEW after Dispay & Drop Down box.
Unlike previously where once you open the role all the properties are displayed on the right hand side of the view in Property Editor now its no more like that. You don't have property editor.
You won't have Properties and Trace Delta Links button at the bottom of the Standard Role View.
Is anyone facing the same issue with SP 14 or 15 ? Or now there is some other approach to edit the roles?
If any one need a screen shot to have a better analysis please shoot a mail to the id i would be ready to provide them.

We are facing same problem in EP7, SP6
EDIT MODE TAB is disabled for iviews...even when accessing thru administartor role.
As far as permissions are concerned:-
Super_admin: owner, end user, role assigner
Administrator: Full Control, end user, role assigner
Everyone: Read/Write, enduser
I have Created Web-Dynpro iview and now want to edit PCD Location i.e. changing the dc of this iview..
But cannot...
Please help us out...

Can not edit roles properties

Dear All,
I found the solution but for the moment I don't know if it is a bug or not.
In my user if the flag "Activate Accessibility Feature" is set on, I can't edit the properties of all objects (except IViews). The button properties and Edit are greyed.
If I set of the flag, the button are available and I can change all the object.

If some functionality is missing or reported by many users, then you can call it a bug. but this seems to be only for your user. It works for other users of the same portal. So this can't be a bug but would have happened due to some unwanted or unknown actions in portal. SAP Portal is very sensitive as far as I understood. Any wrong configuration or wrong deployment can easily bring a server down. So we have to make sure we are doing right things to the most extent. For your question, you can delete your user, recreate it and check. hope that will work.

JDeveloper 12.1.3.0 - Can't associate role to user

I'm not able to associate WebLogic users to roles in JDeveloper. In a BPM project I created some roles in the current organization and I want to associate users to them. By double-clicking on one role I'm opening the Edit Role dialog. Here I select "User" in the Role Escalation list-box and I click on the magnifying glass on the right. The Identity Lookup dialog opens. In the application server I select my current WebLogic 12c application server which is running locally. A dialog box containing the following error message is displayed:
The server exception is: Connection refused from server.
However, I can browse the server in the Palette. It is not the default domain but a compact domain that I created with the Configuration Wizard.

I'm sorry, I think it didn't got to me what that meant. Don't have to be sarcastic or something. Trying to help you out here, since it's been a few days that you posted it. Checking things to be sure.
I found that it occurs that I could not query users from the realm, while I was in the impression that my server was running.
You could check things like hostname (sometimes localhost just doesn't work). I've no further ideas at the moment.

Hi,
In our case, even though i change the name of the workbook using 'Change title' that is not reflected in the workbook if it is in a role. so, in that case, goto pfcg - enter the name of the role -> menu tab -> change the workbook name for the workbook of your choice.

How can I edit a page which uses jQuery Tabs that are hidden in edit mode?

My client cannot update the html5 css3 jQuery tabs as they are not visible on the page in edit mode. Is there anyway that he can update with Contribute 6.5 or is there any other CMS which would allow him to update it?

To make scripts visible in edit mode follow the below mentioned steps.
1) Administer the website.
2) Select the role and click Edit role settings.
3) Uncheck the option "Protect scripts, forms and spry widgets".
4) Click OK to save and exit.

BP: can't edit "user name" field in section "employee data"

Transaction - BP, tab - identification, Change in BP role - employee.
why i can't edit "user name" field in section "employee data"?
Field is unchangeable only for one in a ~800 BPs.

Earlier it is possible to change the User ID field.

If this BP is used somewhere else I mean in some transaction/CRMD_ORDER/Support message,so it might be not possible to change this now....becuase the log will become incosistent.
for e.g. if in ticket XXXX i have been assigned as reporter as...BP no 10
Later you are assigning this to no 10 to some other person or ID ....
Then the log of CRMD_ORDER or ticket will become inconsistent because the BP is now assigned to a different person who never worked on the same.
Actualy i have faced this query during one implementation that why we are able to change the UserID of existing BP even if it is used in some transaction/message.
Might be this is a new correction in the recent release.

I use some bea api and create one role name is "test",I add one user and one group in it.

Other than this if you are trying to access the roles within a portal context there is a control called DelegatedRolePolicyManagerControlFacade (com.bea.portal.tools.entitlements.controls.DelegatedRolePolicyManagerControlFacade) which can give you all the roles:

The application Acrobat provides no language translation capability.
If you localize the language for OS, MS Office applications, Acrobat, etc to the desired language try again.
Alternative: transfer a copy of content into a web based translation service (Bing or Google provides a free service).
Transfer the output into a word processing program that is localized to the appropriate language.
Do cleanup.

How can I edit an html file in Firefox using View Source?

I have created an html webpage and saved it to my pc. I can't edit the html file in firefox when I right click on the page and select "View Source". I can view the code but I can't edit it. I can do this in IE9.
I thought I was able to do this before in Firefox.
Did my settings change somewhere that I can no longer do this?
Do I have to have something checked in the Web Developer extensions for it to work?
I'm using Firefox 24.0

The View Source window in Firefox cannot be used to change computer codes. Nor can the Web Developer tools.

Not sure what you mean by "photo screen?" Do you mean your Photo Stream?
In the Photos app there are several ways to view the photos. Tap on Albums. Your Photo Stream is one Album but there may be others including the Camera Roll, albums made on the iPad with photos from the Camera Roll, and albums of photos copied to your iPhone by syncing with your computer.
To remove albums from the Camera Roll, tap on the Camera Roll album to see the small thumbnails of the photos there. Tap on Select, tap on the photos to delete, then tap on the trashcan. The photos will then be moved to another album called Recently Deleted. They remain there for 30 days to allow you time to reconsider whether you really want to delete them or not. After 30 days they will automatically be deleted from your iPhone. But if you are sure you want the photos deleted from your iPhone delete them again from the Recently Deleted album.
Albums created on the iPad with photos from the Camera Roll can be deleted in the same way.
To delete albums copied to your iPhone by syncing with your computer running iTunes are deleted by doing another sync. But before you click on Sync deselect the albums in iTunes. Then when you click on Apply or Sync the albums will be removed from your iPhone but they will remain on your computer.
