Can't even download install

Trying to reinstall iTunes, like it seems half the world needs to do, but can't even download the install file.  Get as far as the screen asking if I want to save the file to disk (of course I do, since the only other option is Cancel), but the file doesn't download.  Don't even see a screen asking where to save it, so something appears to be shorting out immediately.  Windows 7, latest Firefox in case that makes a difference.

Get as far as the screen asking if I want to save the file to disk (of course I do, since the only other option is Cancel), but the file doesn't download.
Try downloading the file with your IE rather than your Firefox. Any better luck?

Lion 10.7.5 is as far as you can go. You must have at least 2 GBs of installed RAM.
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99.
If you sign into the App Store and try to purchase Mountain Lion but the App Store says your computer is not compatible then you may still be able to upgrade to Lion per the following information.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mountain Lion, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. Or you can order directly on the online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • Further 10.5.6 madness: can't even download any of the updaters!

I've been reading through the craziness people have to deal with after applying 10.5.6. But I'm one of those people who can't even download it. Every updater comes out truncated. The Software Update download comes out around anywhere from 70 to 200 MB, and then of course you get the whole "Configuring Installation" hang. But what's really annoying is I've tried to download both the Delta and Combo updaters from here and they keep truncating too! The Combo maxed out at 150-200 MB before stopping, the delta about the same. Then they announce to the system that they're complete disk images which of course they are not.
Most frustrating was just now. I thought I'd be cagey and pause/restart the download. I was doing fine, got to 475 MB on the Combo, and then all of a sudden Safari said "Connection timeout" and stopped downloading. (This time it did not think it was a complete .dmg.) I hit resume, and it started from the beginning. 1K ... 10K ... 200K ...
I already wrote Apple a complaint via their hard-to-find email form, but I'm putting this out there for documentation purposes. As far as I know, my ISP doesn't have any caps; downloading other large files, such as iTunes movies, goes fine at good speeds.
I'm installing on a clean, virgin late 2008 MacBook (aluminum) freshly erased-and-installed from its installer DVD. Not a single third-party application on it.

Update: I finally managed it. Don't know if Apple's servers changed something or it was just me, but what I did was used Software Update's Download Only option, and then PAUSED every 100MB or so, waited a bit, and resumed. Either way, it got me past the 175MB and 209MB marks where the package kept truncating, and I installed it using Installer and not Software Update. I am now running 10.5.6 and am expecting shenanigans. But hopefully if anyone has the same download trouble this could be helpful.

    HI..
iTunes Store: Which types of items can I buy in my country?
First, click the round flag icon bottom right corner of the iTunes Store window to select your country.
Then click Store > Sign In from the iTunes menu bar the click View Account.
You can select a payment method from the Account Information window.

  • I used a 25 dollar gift card on my account and I spent it all and now I can't even download free apps is there a way to fix this?

Did you enter a credit card when you created your Apple ID? If you created the ID and never entered a credit card, but used a gift card from the start, you probably didn't create the account correctly. The bottom line is that you have to enter a credit card now. You don't have to use it, but I'm assuming that's why you can't download free apps. You still need to enter the credit card because you didn't creat your Apple ID the correct way for not using a credit card.

Are you in an area where there is no coverage?
You can try a reset, hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
If that doesn't help, then yOu'll need to contact Sprint again.

  • Can't even download the flash player installer

I can't even see the page to download the installer for flash player, I've tried using different browsers, chrome and IE (Chrome has same issue, IE just says flash is built in), Firefox, my main browser, has this issue, and I haven't tried installing Opera yet.
My OS is Windows 10 Technical Preview. All browsers are fresh installs after upgrading, thus saying, they are as up to date as possible.
this is the issue in picture format..
As you can see, there's nothing there, just blank space. I've even tried checking the source, but there's nothing I can see wrong, other than no content. I just don't know what to do.
    Edited to add operating system.

    Hi Jackie,
Thank you for including the OS version in your post.  I will forward this to the folks who handle the download page.
In the mean time, the offline installers are posted at the bottom of the http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html page, in the 'Still having problems' section.  Since you indicate Firefox is your main browser you'll want to download th installer for Firefox browsers.  Microsoft began embedding Flash Player in Internet Explorer with Windows 8, and it can only be updated via an update to Internet Explorer, which Microsoft releases.   Chrome also embeds Flash Player and Google updates Flash Player in Chrome whenever there is a release.  So again, no need to install a separate plugin for it.

  • My Itunes won't let me buy apps or songs, and I can't even download the free ones

Hello.  I have an iphone 5.  Iv'e had it scince May of 2013 (this year).  I really haven't had any problems before with Itunes, but I can't buy songs or apps, and I cannot even download the free apps!  I have recently got an Itunes gift card for Christmas, and I put it into my Iphone, and Itunes says I have the money from the gift card.  I started to notice this when I was my grandparent's house a few days ago for Christmas, and it wouldn't let me get an app, even though it was free.  I thought it was because of a diffent type of WiFi or because I was at a different place, but when I got home, it still wasn't working.  Whenever I try to buy or download something, it says, "Verification Info."  I click continue, and it says that I need to buy money with a credt card, even though I have money in my account!  This has also happend to my sister (she has an iphone 4).  Please help!

    Hi there,
The current file type is a VLC media file (.flac) (.flac), 34MB. I have never had any trouble adding music before, I have always been able to simply drag them into itunes and they have transferred perfectly so I don't have any idea what has changed.
iTunes does not support FLAC. The formats supported by iTunes are -
AAC, MP3, Apple Lossless, AIFF, and WAV
In addition it is possible to import unprotected WMA files and during the import iTunes will make a new converted version (usually in AAC format).
If you are using iTunes on a Mac there is a complicated unofficial method that will let you add FLAC files in to iTunes but this is not possible with iTunes for Windows.
It is possible to use Apple Lossless in iTunes (as listed above this is officially supported) and use the same Apple Lossless files in Windows Media Player, Microsoft MediaCenter, foobar, WinAmp, dbPoweramp, VLC, and many others. Some of these need free plugins to add support for Apple Lossless but to illustrate it is possible, I have all my music in Apple Lossless (in iTunes), and share the same files with WMP and Microsoft MediaCenter.

  • Trying to download my purchases from my iPod but it is not working. I have a new OS on an old computer and I can't even download the songs from iTunes because it thinks the songs are already on this computer. What should I do?

Tried to back up music before new OS was loaded but for some reason, it only kept artists through the letter J. I did not realize that until I restored my iTunes under new OS. Now I tried to download my iTunes purchases from the iPod and I can select the "Transfer Purchases from iPOD" but then nothing seems to happen. I tried to download form iTunes and it says the songs are already on my computer. This is either because I did originally download them to this computer on the old operating system or because the names are still in iTunes even though the file associated with them is not. I'm not sure. I don't know what to try next but it is nearly 600 songs so I need to figure it out.

Does iTunes recognize the phone at all? Or just the computer?

  • The games apps in my IPAD2 won't open and i can't even download it says regarding my id...what is wrong with my IPAD

i am having problem with my IPAD2...i can't open the games or the apps i've downloaded here...what is wrong and what shall i do so i can open it again because some of my games here are paid apps...please help me...thanks and GOD bless.

You need to upgrade to 10.10.3 - it's on software update.
That will give you the new Photos.app.
It will also be possible to download the up-to-date version of iPhoto:
Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

  • Can't even download AIM!!!!

I don't know, maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I just bought a MacBook Pro a few days ago, tried downloading AIM 4.7 for Mac and got a message that said "Unable to unarchive "aim.bin" into "Downloads". (Error 45 - Operation not supported), I tried to save it and then open it and that didn't work, I even tried to download the 'troubleshooters' version' at the bottom of the page and that didn't work! Can anyone help me figure this out?

I think you need to download stuffit expander (which I think is either free or has a free demo period available) to unstuff it? If you have that and it does not work might need to re-download.

  • TS1702 When will Apple come out with a new update because the last one totally screwed up my Ipod? Whenever I try to get on an app, it crashes. I can't even download any more apps. I can't get on safari or most apps without it crashing.

Why does the new update for IPod screw up the function? I can't get on hardly any of my apps, let alone, download any more apps either. I am one unhappy person.
