Can't even install Lightroom

Hello,
first of all I've to apologize because my English istn't as good as it should be!
I hope you'll understand my problem.
As mentioned in the topic line, I can't install Lightroom 3. The installmanager runs well until copying the new data, then at ca. 80% this error massage appears:
Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {5C21D397-1DA5-3749-8C1F-165F21DE9E3E}. HRESULT: 0x80070002. assembly interface: IAssemblyCacheItem, function: Commit, assembly name: Microsoft.VC90.MFCLOC,version="9.0.21022.8",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorAr chitecture="amd64",type="win32"
So far no problem. I checked the web for solutions, the following things seemed to fit:
1. Re-Install .NET Framework - I've done this twice in the meantime...
2. Re-Install Visual C++ Runtimes - Also done twice
3. Close all other programms incl. AV via msconfig - done
But this error hasn't gone jet...
I thought for a short period of time that, maybe, the cd is corrupted. Luckily Adobe has the client downloadable on its website.
How could I say? Installation via web-client also failed, same Error....
Now I don't know what to do further! I would be glad if any of you can give me a hint or probably a solution.

I have found  ADOBE support lacking, to say the least.  They had me run a program which invalidated my Vista License, and then had the nerve to tell me to contact Microsoft to fix that problem.  And THEN they had the nerve to tell me that LR3 wouldn't install because my Vista license was no longer valid.  They could not seem to comprehend that my first attempt to install LR3 was BEFORE they had me run the program which invalidated my Vista license. 
I corrected my license problem by going through the online validation process with MS.  The final straw was the last tech who seemed to be questioning my honesty.  He was skeptical that I had not validated Vista, and wanted to get remote access to my computer.  That takes some nerve, doesn't it?  I didn't allow him access but he took my telephone number to have a "Senior," tech call me.  I doubt I will get that call, based on the comments of other Adobe customers.
I am shocked at this kind of service from Adobe.  I am comparing to HP, which has been surprisingly helpful with my laptop that has been out of warranty for two years.
Anytime someone tells me that I have to re-load my OS, I know I'm talking to the wrong person.  Reloading the OS and all the programs is always the easiest resolution for the person giving the advice.  It may work, but it's not always necessary.  After having done that a couple of times, I decided to buy another laptop hard drive and clone my internal drive to it every couple of weeks.  If my drive goes bad, or I need to reload every thing, I just swap the drives, and restore files which have been updated since the last cloning. 
I found some instructions on Intuit's Turbotax website which I will try when I return home from the weekend, if I haven't heard from Adobe.
I wish that I could paste the link; just google "error 1935 turbotax" and it's usually at the top.
I'll attach a screen print so you can see what it should look like.

    In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. Therefore, it would also be my assumption that Pages and Numbers will work again and that the deleting apps issues would be fixed as well.
    If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever.

    Try going to System Preferences>Security & Privacy and under the General tab...
    ...select "Anywhere". Note that you'll need to use an admin account to access these settings.

    My niece had a similar issue. The app had disappeared, could not be found in spotlight and when in the App Store it could not be downloaded.
    In her case the restrictions on the iPad were the problem. In Settings, General, Restrictions and under Allowed Content, Apps I had set the age to 9+. Instagram is a 12+ app so when I changed the age restriction for apps Instagram reappeared.
    Unsure if this helps in your situation though.

  • How can I re-install Lightroom,removed but still showing in Creative Cloud as being installed.

    Well I think I screwed up. Three days ago I purchased the Photography Creative Cloud and downloaded Photoshop, Bridge and Lightroom. This evening I removed Lightroom through Windows un-install. It is still showing as being installed on the computer in the Creative Cloud window. I'm pretty sure I should not have un-installed it this way, but there it is. Is there anyway I can get it back on my computer? I am not ready for it yet but will need it in the future.

    Hi Linda,
    I think you're OK. The Creative Cloud window only updates daily, and/or with every relaunch. The Creative Cloud application currently has no uninstall utility, so you need to use the Windows control panel to uninstall.
    If you want to force an update to the Creative Cloud status, quit and relaunch the process. To quit, go to the gear icon in the upper right and choose quit at the bottom of the menu:
    If Lightroom doesn't show up as 'Install' after relaunching, let me know and I can investigate more.

    If LR is uninstalled (no longer listed in the installed programs list) then sign out of the CC Manager app (Gear / Preferences / General / Account) and reboot, then sign back in to the CC Manager app, and see if it shows up.   It can take some time to realize LR is gone.  You can also try going to http://creative.adobe.com/ sign in, click on Lightroom, click the big blue Download button at the top, which should start up the Adobe Application Manager (if that’s what comes up instead of the CC Manager) and LR should start to download, then.

  • Can't even install the drivers for Xerox 6100

    I have done a lot of homework on this one. I have an old powerbook (running 10.4.11) and the Xerox 6100 installer and drivers work great on it. I just got an iMac (10.6.3) and put Rosetta on in, but when I run the Xerox 6100 installer it doesn't put any files anywhere that I can find. I have also tried installing the Samsung 510 because I heard it has worked for some people where the Xerox driver failed, but no luck their either. I have tried to configure it for both USB and IP printing, but I still think the hitch is that the VISE installer isn't doing its job. Any thoughts or suggestions? Does anyone know where I should look to find out where exactly this whole process when awry?

    It is not officially supported, but there are many posts and even support from Xerox that says all you need to do is the following (see below)
    1) Change the “Xerox” Folder Permissions:
    • Navigate to Applications > Utilities and open a Terminal window.
    • Type the following command: sudo chown -R root:admin /Library/Printers/Xerox
    • You will be prompted to enter your password.
    2) Install Rosetta from the Snow Leopard DVD:
    • Insert the Snow Leopard Install DVD
    • Select Optional Package
    • Select “Rosetta only” from the list of optional packages
    • Click install and follow instructions to complete installation; there is no need to reboot
    3) Reset Printing System:
    • Navigate to: System Preferences> Print & Fax> Xerox Phaser [6100, 6110, 6110MFP]
    • Right click on the printer
    • Select Reset Printing System
    4) Install Printer (without removing the driver):
    • Navigate to: System Preferences> Print & Fax> Xerox Phaser [6100, 6110, 6110MFP]
    • Select +: add the available Xerox printer
    That likely works if you already have the drivers installed on 10.6, but this is not MY issue. I run the installer and it does nothing. There is no /Library/Printers/Xerox and for all I can tell the installer doesn't put any files anywhere on my iMac.
    I am pretty sure I could get it to work if only the installer worked but it does not seem to be doing anything. I even looked for files using the command line in case they were hidden and the installer hadn't added any new files with Xerox in them.
    To answer you other question, I was told 6110 and 6200 drivers will not work. You have to use the 6100 driver, but again mine won't install. Thanks for writing in to help.

    Since the docs just say that it shoudl work and there seems to be no Adobe support that doesn't require a week of "You're sure you're running Contribute?" (24 hours pass) "And you're not using Windows?" (48 hours pass) etc...
    I am trying to install CPS onto a Linux server. This seems to be the way it's supposed to work. It supposedly includes a JRE engine already.
    I would appreciate any help anyone can provide. Adobe has proven itself fairly useless in my opinion. I spent an hour on the phone with them over why the downloader didn't work to find out there IS no downloader. Then they sent me a CD whose documentation consists mainly of links to Macromedia's web site, which is no longer with us. So I can only imagine what the future of this software is.
    I guess one question is whether it assumes I have a graphical user interface? Which would be an odd assumption for a server product.

    I do appreciate your tip and hope you will follow through. This has now taken far too many hours from the "downloader available when you buy but not when you try to download nonsense to my order being lost in Adobe's systems to mistakenly thinking tech support via email would take less than 24-48 hours for each response.

    i just bought a MSI 865PE Neo2 motherboard and installed it in my computer. i go to reinstall my OS, which is windows 2000 by the way, and it won't install. when it gets to the press enter to install windows 2000 it just stops working and the screen goes all different colors and weird letters come up. i did it a couple of times and i finally was able to see the error. it says hardware or software conflict. the normal win2k pro error when something isn't working right. the only thing i have in there is a floppy drive, 1 samsung dvd drive, 2 sticks of Kingston 512MB DDR266 PC2100 CL2 Memory, 1 40 gb p ata maxtor harddrive, 1 ATI Radeon 9600 PRO AGP 8X 128MB DDR Video Card w/TV-Out & DVI, and 1 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 Processor (Northwood) 2.53GHz, 533MHz FSB, Socket 478. i am also using the Logitech Cordless MX Duo Elite Keyboard w/MX700 Optical Mouse Combo. can you please tell me what the problem is. everything worked before i installed the new motherboard. please help

    Today i downloaded the trail version of AE CS3 on my Vista PC. But when installing it gives me an error saying:
    > There was a problem when unpacking the files. Check the avaible space on the computer and the rights for the destination map.
    I also tried to install on my old pc witch has XP. But still, half-way the installation i get this error. Both pc have enough space left and im logged in with my admin account. The download went perfectly. With my Vista admin account i added the program to the DEP list and also give "Run As Admin". Still the same problem.

    I just installed again, at 100% it gives me the error, but there are no files in the installation map. I only have few file and the setup.exe, when i launch setup nothing appears.

    Yepp, and so will it be again if you try it another time. The trick here is to unsinstall it correctly via the "Add or Remove Programs" option in your system's control panel, even if some components were not installed correctly. The dealbreaker here is the licensing system which is made up of multiple files scattered in various directories and if they are not correctly linked, nothing will work. So as bad as it is, you will have to run anotehr install that will not work, remove it correctly and then run the install again. Be warned though, you may still get a warning that your trial period has expired because the system thinks you have tampered with it. In this case you cannot avoid to call phone support, explain your situation and ask them for a temporary serial number.

    It seems like everyone else is having problems after they install itunes, but it won't install at all for me. We had the previous version and it worked fine, but we needed to update it after my son got his ipod touch. I uninstalled the previous version along with the items that went with it(QuickTime, Bonjour etc) When I click "download" on the apple website, it immediately says that it's now downloaded, but it's not.

    That can sometimes be caused by pop-up blockers and/or web accelerators. If you switch all your pop-up blockers off (in the web browser, security software and any other utilities with that function) and/or switch off your web accelerator, does the download go through any better?

    I tried to install it with the CD that came with my phone but th link is kind of dead. I downloaded Desktop Software 6 but the same error keeps coming up:

    I have exactly the same problem and several other users are in the same situation.
    I tried many operation without success. My PC is running under Windows 7.
    I think that the problem is due to the installation of Microsoft Visual C++ 2008. It's impossible to install this component. When I try to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 to part, i get the same message. I downloaded this component from the microsoft website, but unable to install it.
    Help will be very appreciate.

  • Can't re-install Lightroom on Win 8 PC

    My version of LR 5.7 started malfunctioning so I tried, unsuccessfully, to repair it.  Then I tried to re-install from my program disks.  It ran in the background, but wasn't visible on the screen, for some reason.  I uninstalled three times with Revo Uninstall Pro and all of the re-installs do the same thing.  THEN, I downloaded a trial version of LR and it booted, but when I tried to licence it with my disks serial # it said it was invalid.
    Help!

    Are the disks for an upgrade or the full product? If an upgrade version you will also need the serial number for your prior version. The serial number should be 24 digits (no letters) and it will start 1160.

    I just put together a PC with the following; XP Home, Antec 380watt, MSI KT-600 (MS-7021), Barton
    2800+, MSI FX-5200-256mb, Kingston HyperX 512mb PC3700, & Samsung 120gb SATA for my cousin. It
    worked REALLY Nice, so nice I have since ordered the same board (with more options) for myself. It
    was fine for two weeks until she downloaded Microsoft Net Framework needed for for PowerQuest Drive
    Image. She shutdown the PC for the night instead of rebooting to finish install. the next day when
    she started (tried) windows it went to the screen with the little green box that runs from left to
    right a few times, the box just hung and thats as far as it would go. Note She is on an Island I
    wont get machine til Monday. Would not boot into safe mode. We decided to try to reinstall XP, It
    goes as far as to let us install SATA drivers (F-6) Then installs some files from XP disk then it
    just hangs with following message on bottom of screen;
    Examing 114.95mb disk 0 at ID 0 on box 0 on VIA RAID......
    She has tried at least 20 times and always gets stuck there. I'm thinking hard drive, does anyone
    have any ideas?
     NOTE MY SIG IS MY PC, NOT ONE WITH PROBLEM

    Thanks for your help. I got the PC Monday from her and it turned out it was a bad SATA drive. Since she lives on the Island I had her get a Maxtor 160GB 7200rpm 8MB cache IDE HDD that was on sale for 139.00 109 after mail in rebate and hooked her up. She up and running strong. I think they need to work on SATA a bit more before I would want to use in someones PC that lives on an Island. Thanks.
